Ephesians - Chapter: 4

4:1I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
4:2With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
4:3Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4:4There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
4:5One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
4:6One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
4:7But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
4:8Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
4:9(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
4:10He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
4:11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
4:12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
4:13Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
4:14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
4:15But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
4:16From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
4:17This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
4:18Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
4:19Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
4:20But ye have not so learned Christ;
4:21If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
4:22That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
4:23And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
4:24And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
4:25Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
4:26Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
4:27Neither give place to the devil.
4:28Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.
4:29Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
4:30And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
4:31Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
4:32And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

4:1I therefore, being prisoner in the Lord, praie you that yee walke worthie of the vocation whereunto yee are called,
4:2With all humblenesse of minde, and meekenesse, with long suffering, supporting one an other through loue,
4:3Endeuouring to keepe the vnitie of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4:4There is one body, and one Spirit, euen as yee are called in one hope of your vocation.
4:5There is one Lord, one Faith, one Baptisme,
4:6One God and Father of all, which is aboue all, and through all, and in you all.
4:7But vnto euery one of vs is giuen grace, according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
4:8Wherfore he saith, Whe he asceded vp on hie, he led captiuity captiue, and gaue gifts vnto men.
4:9(Nowe, in that hee ascended, what is it but that he had also descended first into the lowest partes of the earth?
4:10Hee that descended, is euen the same that ascended, farre aboue all heauens, that hee might fill all things)
4:11Hee therefore gaue some to be Apostles, and some Prophets, and some Euangelists, and some Pastours, and Teachers,
4:12For the repairing of the Saintes, for the woorke of the ministerie, and for the edification of the bodie of Christ,
4:13Till we all meete together (in the vnitie of faith and that acknowledging of the Sonne of God) vnto a perfite man, and vnto the measure of the age of the fulnesse of Christ,
4:14That we henceforth be no more children, wauering and caried about with euery winde of doctrine, by the deceit of men, and with craftines, whereby they lay in wait to deceiue.
4:15But let vs folowe the truth in loue, and in all things, grow vp into him, which is the head, that is, Christ.
4:16By whome al the body being coupled and knit together by euery ioynt, for ye furniture therof (according to the effectual power, which is in the measure of euery part) receiueth increase of the body, vnto the edifying of itselfe in loue.
4:17This I say therefore and testifie in the Lord, that yee hencefoorth walke not as other Gentiles walke, in vanitie of their minde,
4:18Hauing their vnderstanding darkened, and being strangers from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardnesse of their heart:
4:19Which being past feeling, haue giuen themselues vnto wantonnesse, to woorke all vncleannesse, euen with griedinesse.
4:20But yee haue not so learned Christ,
4:21If so be yee haue heard him, and haue bene taught by him, as the trueth is in Iesus,
4:22That is, that yee cast off, concerning the conuersation in time past, that olde man, which is corrupt through the deceiueable lustes,
4:23And be renued in the spirit of your minde,
4:24And put on ye new man, which after God is created vnto righteousnes, and true holines.
4:25Wherefore cast off lying, and speake euery man truth vnto his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
4:26Bee angrie, but sinne not: let not the sunne goe downe vpon your wrath,
4:27Neither giue place to the deuill.
4:28Let him that stole, steale no more: but let him rather labour, and worke with his handes the thing which is good, that hee may haue to giue vnto him that needeth.
4:29Let no corrupt comunication proceed out of your mouths: but that which is good, to ye vse of edifying, that it may minister grace vnto the hearers.
4:30And grieue not the holy Spirit of God, by whom ye are sealed vnto ye day of redemption.
4:31Let all bitternesse, and anger, and wrath, crying, and euill speaking be put away from you, with all maliciousnesse.
4:32Be ye courteous one to another, and tender hearted, freely forgiuing one another, euen as God for Christes sake, freely forgaue you.

4:1I therfore which am in bondes for the lordes sake exhorte you that ye walke worthy of the vocacion wherwith ye are called
4:2in all humblenes of mynde and meknes and longe sufferynge forbearinge one another thorowe love
4:3and that ye be dyliget to kepe ye vnitie of ye sprete in the bonde of peace
4:4beynge one body and one sprete eve as ye are called in one hope of youre callynge.
4:5Let ther be but one lorde one fayth one baptim:
4:6one god and father of all which is above all thorow all and in you all.
4:7Vnto every one of vs is geven grace acordinge to the measure of ye gyft of christ.
4:8Wherfore he sayth: He is gone vp an hye and hath ledde captivitie captive and hath geven gyftes vnto men.
4:9That he ascended: what meaneth it but that he also descended fyrst into the lowest parties of the erth?
4:10He that descended is even the same also that ascended vp even above all hevens to fulfill all thinges.
4:11And the very same made some Apostles some prophetes some Evangelistes some Sheperdes some Teachers:
4:12yt the sainctes might have all thinges necessarie to worke and minister with all to the edifyinge of the body of christ
4:13tyll we every one (in the vnitie of fayth and knowledge of the sonne of god) growe vp vnto a parfayte man after ye measure of age of the fulnes of Christ.
4:14That we hence forth be no moare chyldren wauerynge and caryed with every wynde of doctryne by the wylynes of men and craftynes wherby they laye a wayte for vs to deceave vs.
4:15But let vs folowe the trueth in loue and in all thynges growe in him which is the heed that ys to saye Christ
4:16in whom all the body ys coupled and knet togedder in every ioynt wherwith one ministreth to another (accordinge to the operacion as every parte hath his measure) and increaseth the body vnto the edyfyinge of it silfe in love.
4:17This I saye therfore and testifie in ye lorde that ye hence forth walke not as other gentyls walke in vanitie of their mynde
4:18blynded in their vnderstondynge beynge straungers from the lyfe which is in god thorow the ignorancy that is in them because of the blyndnes of their hertes:
4:19which beynge past repentaunce have geven them selves vnto wantannes to worke all manner of vnclennes even with gredynes.
4:20But ye have not so learned Christ
4:21if so be ye have hearde of him and are taught in him even as the trueth is in Iesu.
4:22So then as concernynge the coversacion in tyme past laye from you that olde ma which is corrupte thorow the deceavable lustes
4:23and be ye renued in the sprete of youre myndes
4:24and put on that newe man which after the ymage of God is shapen in ryghtewesnes and true holynes.
4:25Wherfore put awaye lyinge and speake every man truth vnto his neghbour for as moche as we are members one of another.
4:26Be angrye but synne not let not the sonne go doune apon your wrathe
4:27nether geue place vnto ye backbyter.
4:28Let him yt stole steale no moare but let him rather laboure with his hondes some good thinge that he maye have to geve vnto him that nedeth.
4:29Let no filthy comunicacion procede out of youre mouthes: but yt whych is good to edefye with all when nede ys: that it maye have faveour with the hearers.
4:30And greve not the holy sprete of God by whome ye are sealed vnto the daye of redempcion.
4:31Let all bitternes fearsnes and wrath rorynge and cursyd speakynge be put awaye from you with all maliciousnes.
4:32Be ye courteouse one to another and mercifull forgevynge one another eve as god for Christes sake forgave you.
