2 Kings - Chapter: 15

>
15:1In the twenty and seuenth yeere of Ieroboam king of Israel, began Azariah sonne of Amaziah king of Iudah to reigne.
15:2Sixteene yeeres old was he when he began to reigne, and he reigned two aud fifty yeeres in Ierusalem: and his mothers name was Iecholiah of Ierusalem.
15:3And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Amaziah had done;
15:4Saue that the high places were not remoued: the people sacrificed, and burnt incense still on the high places.
15:5And the Lord smote the king, so that hee was a Leper vnto the day of his death, and dwelt in a seuerall house, and Iotham the kings sonne was ouer the house, iudging the people of the land.
15:6And the rest of the actes of Azariah, and all that hee did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the kings of Iudah?
15:7So Azariah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the city of Dauid, and Iotham his sonne reigned in his stead.
15:8In the thirty and eight yeere of Azariah king of Iudah, did Zachariah the sonne of Ieroboam reigne ouer Israel in Samaria sixe moneths.
15:9And hee did that which was euil in the sight of the Lord, as his fathers had done: he departed not from the sinnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, who made Israel to sinne.
15:10And Shallum the sonne of Iabesh, conspired against him, and smote him before the people, and slewe him, and reigned in his stead.
15:11And the rest of the actes of Zachariah, beholde, they are written in the booke of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
15:12This was the word of the Lord which he spake vnto Iehu, saying, Thy sonnes shall sit on the throne of Israel, vnto the fourth generation. And so it came to passe.
15:13Shallum the sonne of Iabesh began to reigne in the nine and thirtieth yeere of Uzziah king of Iudah, and he reigned a full moneth in Samaria.
15:14For Menahem the sonne of Gadi, went vp from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the sonne of Iabesh, in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.
15:15And the rest of the actes of Shallum, and the conspiracy which he made, behold, they are written in the booke of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
15:16Then Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were therein, and the coasts thereof from Tirzah: because they opened not to him, therfore he smote it, and all the women therein that were with child, he ript vp.
15:17In the nine and thirtieth yeere of Azariah king of Iudah, began Menahem the sonne of Gadi to reigne ouer Israel, and reigned tenne yeres in Samaria.
15:18And he did that which was euill in the sight of the Lord: hee departed not all his dayes from the sinnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, who made Israel to sinne.
15:19And Pul the king of Assyria came against the land: and Menahem gaue Pul a thousand talents of siluer, that his hand might be with him, to confirm the kingdome in his hand.
15:20And Menahem exacted the mony of Israel, euen of all the mightie men of wealth, of each man fiftie shekels of siluer, to giue to the king of Assyria: so the king of Assyria turned backe, and stayed not there in the land.
15:21And the rest of the acts of Menahem, and all that he did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?
15:22And Menahem slept with his fathers, and Pekahiah his sonne reigned in his stead.
15:23In the fiftieth yere of Azariah king of Iudah, Pekahiah the sonne of Menahem began to reigne ouer Israel in Samaria, and reigned two yeeres.
15:24And he did that which was euill in the sight of the Lord, hee departed not from the sinnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, who made Israel to sinne.
15:25But Pekah the sonne of Remaliah, a captaine of his, conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the palace of the kings house, with Argob, and Arieh, and with him fiftie men of the Gileadites: and hee killed him, and reigned in his roume.
15:26And the rest of the actes of Pekahiah, and all that he did, beholde, they are written in the booke of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
15:27In the two and fiftieth yeere of Azariah king of Iudah, Pekah the sonne of Remaliah began to reigne ouer Israel in Samaria, and reigned twentie yeeres.
15:28And he did that which was euill in the sight of the Lord, hee departed not from the sinnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, who made Israel to sinne.
15:29In the dayes of Pekah king of Israel, came Tiglath Pileser king of Assyria, and tooke Iion, and Abel-Beth-maachah, and Ianoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and caried them captiue to Assyria.
15:30And Hoshea the sonne of Elah, made a conspiracie against Pekah the sonne of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth yeere of Iotham the sonne of Uzziah.
15:31And the rest of the actes of Pekah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the booke of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel.
15:32In the second yeere of Pekah the sonne of Remaliah king of Israel, began Iotham the sonne of Uzziah king of Iudah to reigne.
15:33Fiue and twentie yeeres olde was he when he began to reigne, and hee reigned sixteene yeeres in Ierusalem: and his mothers name was Ierusha, the daughter of Zadok.
15:34And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord: hee did according to all that his father Uzziah had done.
15:35Howbeit, the high places were not remoued: the people sacrificed and burnt incense still in the high places: He built the higher gate of the house of the Lord.
15:36Now the rest of the actes of Iotham, and all that hee did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the kings of Iudah?
15:37(In those dayes the Lord began to send against Iudah, Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the sonne of Remaliah)
15:38And Iotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the citie of Dauid his father, and Ahaz his sonne reigned in his stead.

15:6Concerning the rest of the actes of Azariah, and all that he did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
15:7So Azariah slept with his fathers, and they buryed him with his fathers in the citie of Dauid, and Iotham his sonne reigned in his stead.
15:8In the eyght and thirtieth yeere of Azariah King of Iudah did Zachariah the sonne of Ieroboam reigne ouer Israel in Samaria sixe moneths,
15:9And did euill in the sight of the Lord, as did his fathers: for he departed not from the sinnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, which made Israel to sinne.
15:10And Shallum the sonne of Iabesh cospired against him, and smote him in the sight of the people, and killed him, and reigned in his stead.
15:11Concerning the rest of the actes of Zachariah, behold, they are written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
15:12This was the word of the Lord, which he spake vnto Iehu, saying, Thy sonnes shall sit on the throne of Israel vnto the fourth generation after thee. And it came so to passe.
15:13Shallum the sonne of Iabesh began to reigne in the nine and thirtieth yeere of Vzziah King of Iudah: and he reigned the space of a moneth in Samaria.
15:14For Menahem the sonne of Gadi went vp from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the sonne of Iabesh in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.
15:15Cocerning the rest of the acts of Shallum, and the treason which he wrought, beholde, they are written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
15:16Then Menahem destroyed Tiphsah, and all that were therein, and the coastes thereof from Tirzah, because they opened not to him, and he smote it, and ript vp all their women with childe.
15:17The nine and thirtieth yeere of Azariah King of Iudah, beganne Menahem the sonne of Gadi to reigne ouer Israel, and reigned ten yeeres in Samaria.
15:18And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, and departed not all his dayes from the sinne of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, which made Israel to sinne.
15:19Then Pul the king of Asshur came against the land: and Menahem gaue Pul a thousand talents of siluer, that his hande might bee with him, and establish the kingdome in his hand.
15:20And Menahem exacted the money in Israel, that all men of substance shoulde giue the King of Asshur fiftie shekels of siluer a piece: so the king of Asshur returned and taried not there in the land.
15:21Concerning the rest of the actes of Menahem, and all that he did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?
15:22And Menahem slept with his fathers, and Pekahiah his sonne did reigne in his steade.
15:23In ye fiftieth yere of Azariah king of Iudah, began Pekahiah the sonne of Menahem to reigne ouer Israel in Samaria, and reigned two yere.
15:24And he did euill in the sight of the Lord: for he departed not from the sinnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, which made Israel to sinne.
15:25And Pekah the sonne of Remaliah, his captaine conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria in the place of the Kings palace with Argob and Arieh, and with him fiftie men of the Gileadites: so he killed him, and reigned in his steade.
15:26Concerning the rest of the actes of Pekahiah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
15:27In the two and fiftieth yere of Azariah King of Iudah began Pekah the sonne of Remaliah to reigne ouer Israel in Samaria, and reigned twentie yeere.
15:28And he did euil in the sight of the Lord: for he departed not from the sinnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, that made Israel to sinne.
15:29In the dayes of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglath Pileser king of Asshur, and tooke Iion, and Abel, Beth-maachah, and Ianoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilah, and all the land of Naphtali, and caryed them away to Asshur.
15:30And Hoshea the sonne of Elah wrought treason against Pekah the sonne of Remaliah, and smote him, and slewe him, and reigned in his stead in the twentieth yeere of Iotham the sonne of Vzziah.
15:31Concerning the rest of the actes of Pekah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the booke of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel.
15:32In the second yere of Pekah the sonne of Remaliah King of Israel, began Iotham sonne of Vzziah King of Iudah to reigne.
15:33Fiue and twentie yeere olde was he, when he began to reigne, and he reigned sixteene yeere in Ierusalem: and his mothers name was Ierusha the daughter of Zadok.
15:34And hee did vprightly in the sight of the Lord: he did according to all that his father Vzziah had done.
15:35But the hie places were not put away: for the people yet offered and burnt incense in the hie places: he buylt the hyest gate of the house of the Lord.
15:36Concerning the rest of the acts of Iotham, and all that hee did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the kings of Iudah?
15:37In those dayes the Lord began to send against Iudah Rezin the king of Aram, and Pekah the sonne of Remaliah.
15:38And Iotham slept with his fathers, and was buryed with his fathers in the citie of Dauid his father, and Ahaz his sonne reigned in his steade.

15:3And he dyd that which was ryght in the syght of the Lorde, accordynge to all thynges as dyd hys father Amaziahu:
15:4saue that the hylaultars. were not put awaye: for the people offered, and burned incense styll on the hylaultars.
15:5And the Lorde smote the kynge, and he was a leper vnto the daye of his deeth, and dwelt in a seuerall house at libertye, and Iotham the kynges sonne gouerned the palace, and iudged the people of the lande.
15:6The reste of the wordes that concerne Azaria and all that he dyd, are they not written in the boke of the chronicles of the kynges of Iuda?
15:7And so Azaria slepte with his fathers, and they buryed him with hys fathers in the citye of Dauid, and Iotham hys sonne raygned in hys steade.
15:8In the .xxxviij. yere of Azaria kynge of Iuda dyd Zacharia the sonne of Ieroboam raigne vpon Israel in Samaria .vj. monethes:
15:9and wrought that which was euell in the syght of the Lorde, as dyd hys fathers: and turned not awaye from the synnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, which made Israel to sinne.
15:10And Sallum the sonne of Iabes conspyred against hym, & smote hym in the syght of the people, & kylled him, & raygned in his steade.
15:11The rest of the wordes that concerne Zacharia, beholde, they are wrytten in the boke of the Chronycles of the kynges of Israel.
15:12Thys is also the worde of the Lorde, which he spake vnto Iehu, sayinge: thy sonnes shall syt on the seate of Israel in the fourth generacion after the. And it came so to passe.
15:13Sallum the sonne of Iabes beganne to raygne in the .xxxix. yere of Azaria kynge of Iuda: & he raygned a moneth in Samaria.
15:14For Menahem the sonne of Gadi went vp from Thirza, & came to Samaria, & smote Sallum the sonne of Iabes in Samaria, & slue him, & raygned in his steade.
15:15The rest of the wordes that concerne Sallum, & the treason which he conspired, beholde, they are wrytten in the boke of the chronicles of the kynges of Israel.
15:16The same tyme Menahem destroied Thiphsah, & all that were therin, & the coastes therof from Therzahi. And (because they opened not to hym) he smote it, and rypte vp all their wemen with chylde.
15:17The .xxix. yere of Azaria king of Iuda began Menahem the sonne of Gadi to raygne vpon Israel ten yeare in Samaria.
15:18And he dyd euell in the syght of the Lorde, & turned not awaye all his dayes from the synne of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, which made Israel to synne.
15:19And Phul the kinge of Assiria came vpon the lande. And Menahem gaue Phul a .M. talentes of syluer, that his hand might be with him and stablyshe the kyngdome in his hande.
15:20And Menahem made a proclamacion for the money in Israel, that all men of substaunce shulde geue the kynge of Assiria fyftye sycles of syluer a pece. And so the kyng of Assiria turned back agayne, and taryed not there in the lande.
15:21The rest of the wordes that concerne Menahem, and all that he dyd, are they not wrytten in the boke of the chronicles of the kinges of Israel?
15:22And Menahem slepte with his fathers, & Pekahia his sonne dyd in his steade succede him in the kyngedome.
15:23In the fyftyth yeare of Azaria kynge of Iuda, beganne Pekahia the sonne of Menahem to raygne ouer Israel in Samaria two yere,
15:24& dyd that which was euell in the sight of the Lorde: and lefte not of from the synnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, which made Israel synne.
15:25But Pekah the sonne of Remaliahu, which was a captayne of his, conspired agaynst hym, and smote hym in Samaria, euen in the palace of the kynges house with Argob and Aria: and with him were fyftye men of the Gileadites: and he kylled hym, and raygned in hys rowme.
15:26The rest of the wordes that concerne Pekahia, and all that he dyd, beholde, they are wrytten in the boke of the chronicles of the kynges of Israel.
15:27In the .lij. yere of Azaria kynge of Iuda beganne Pekah the sonne of Remaliahu, to raygne ouer Israel in Samaria .xx. yeare,
15:28& dyd euell in the syght of the Lorde, and turned not awaye from the synnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, that made Israel synne.
15:29In the dayes of Pekah kyng of Israel, came Thiglath Pelesar kynge of Assiria, and toke Iion, Abel, Bethmaacha, Ianoah, Kedes, Hazor, Gilead, Galile, and all the lande of Nephthali, & caryed them awaye to Assiria:
15:30And Hosea the sonne of Ela conspired treason agaynst Pekah the sonne of Remaliah, and smote him, and slue him: and raygned in hys steade in the .xx. yere of Iotham the sonne of Uziahu.
15:31The rest of the wordes that concerne Pekah and all that he dyd, behold, they are wrytten in the boke of the chronycles of the kynges of Israel.
15:32The seconde yeare of Pekah the sonne of Remaliahu kinge of Israel, beganne Iotham the sonne of Uziahu kynge of Iuda to raygne.
15:33Fyue and twentye yere olde was he when he began to raygne: and he raygned syxtene yere in Ierusalem. Hys mothers name was Ierusa the daughter of Zadok.
15:34And he dyd that which is ryght in the syght of the Lorde: euen accordynge to all as dyd his father Uziahu, so dyd he.
15:35But the hylaulters were nott put awaye: for the people offered and burnt incense styll in the hylaulters: he buylt the hygher dore of the house of the Lord.
15:36The rest of the wordes that concerne Iotham, and all that he dyd, are they not written in the boke of the chronycles of the kynges of Iuda.
15:37In those dayes the Lorde beganne to sende into Iuda, Rezin the kyng of Siria, and Pekah the sonne of Remaliahu.
15:38And Iotham slepte wt his fathers, and was buried wt his fathers in the citye of Dauid hys father, and Ahaz hys sonne raygned in his steade.
