2 Chronicles - Chapter: 33


33:1	Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem:
33:2	But did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, like unto the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.
33:3	For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.
33:4	Also he built altars in the house of the LORD, whereof the LORD had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever.
33:5	And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.
33:6	And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
33:7	And he set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen before all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:
33:8	Neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from out of the land which I have appointed for your fathers; so that they will take heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.
33:9	So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the heathen, whom the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel.
33:10	And the LORD spake to Manasseh, and to his people: but they would not hearken.
33:11	Wherefore the LORD brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh among the thorns, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.
33:12	And when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,
33:13	And prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD he was God.
33:14	Now after this he built a wall without the city of David, on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entering in at the fish gate, and compassed about Ophel, and raised it up a very great height, and put captains of war in all the fenced cities of Judah.
33:15	And he took away the strange gods, and the idol out of the house of the LORD, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the LORD, and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city.
33:16	And he repaired the altar of the LORD, and sacrificed thereon peace offerings and thank offerings, and commanded Judah to serve the LORD God of Israel.
33:17	Nevertheless the people did sacrifice still in the high places, yet unto the LORD their God only.
33:18	Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer unto his God, and the words of the seers that spake to him in the name of the LORD God of Israel, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel.
33:19	His prayer also, and how God was intreated of him, and all his sins, and his trespass, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before he was humbled: behold, they are written among the sayings of the seers.
33:20	So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.
33:21	Amon was two and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned two years in Jerusalem.
33:22	But he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as did Manasseh his father: for Amon sacrificed unto all the carved images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them;
33:23	And humbled not himself before the LORD, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but Amon trespassed more and more.
33:24	And his servants conspired against him, and slew him in his own house.
33:25	But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.


33:1	בן שׁתים עשׂרה שׁנה מנשׁה במלכו וחמשׁים וחמשׁ שׁנה מלך בירושׁלם׃
33:2	ויעשׂ הרע בעיני יהוה כתועבות הגוים אשׁר הורישׁ יהוה מפני בני ישׂראל׃
33:3	וישׁב ויבן את הבמות אשׁר נתץ יחזקיהו אביו ויקם מזבחות לבעלים ויעשׂ אשׁרות וישׁתחו לכל צבא השׁמים ויעבד אתם׃
33:4	ובנה מזבחות בבית יהוה אשׁר אמר יהוה בירושׁלם יהיה שׁמי לעולם׃
33:5	ויבן מזבחות לכל צבא השׁמים בשׁתי חצרות בית יהוה׃
33:6	והוא העביר את בניו באשׁ בגי בן הנם ועונן ונחשׁ וכשׁף ועשׂה אוב וידעוני הרבה לעשׂות הרע בעיני יהוה להכעיסו׃
33:7	וישׂם את פסל הסמל אשׁר עשׂה בבית האלהים אשׁר אמר אלהים אל דויד ואל שׁלמה בנו בבית הזה ובירושׁלם אשׁר בחרתי מכל שׁבטי ישׂראל אשׂים את שׁמי לעילום׃
33:8	ולא אוסיף להסיר את רגל ישׂראל מעל האדמה אשׁר העמדתי לאבתיכם רק אם ישׁמרו לעשׂות את כל אשׁר צויתים לכל התורה והחקים והמשׁפטים ביד משׁה׃
33:9	ויתע מנשׁה את יהודה וישׁבי ירושׁלם לעשׂות רע מן הגוים אשׁר השׁמיד יהוה מפני בני ישׂראל׃
33:10	וידבר יהוה אל מנשׁה ואל עמו ולא הקשׁיבו׃
33:11	ויבא יהוה עליהם את שׂרי הצבא אשׁר למלך אשׁור וילכדו את מנשׁה בחחים ויאסרהו בנחשׁתים ויוליכהו בבלה׃
33:12	וכהצר לו חלה את פני יהוה אלהיו ויכנע מאד מלפני אלהי אבתיו׃
33:13	ויתפלל אליו ויעתר לו וישׁמע תחנתו וישׁיבהו ירושׁלם למלכותו וידע מנשׁה כי יהוה הוא האלהים׃
33:14	ואחרי כן בנה חומה חיצונה לעיר דויד מערבה לגיחון בנחל ולבוא בשׁער הדגים וסבב לעפל ויגביהה מאד וישׂם שׂרי חיל בכל הערים הבצרות ביהודה׃
33:15	ויסר את אלהי הנכר ואת הסמל מבית יהוה וכל המזבחות אשׁר בנה בהר בית יהוה ובירושׁלם וישׁלך חוצה לעיר׃
33:16	ויכן את מזבח יהוה ויזבח עליו זבחי שׁלמים ותודה ויאמר ליהודה לעבוד את יהוה אלהי ישׂראל׃
33:17	אבל עוד העם זבחים בבמות רק ליהוה אלהיהם׃
33:18	ויתר דברי מנשׁה ותפלתו אל אלהיו ודברי החזים המדברים אליו בשׁם יהוה אלהי ישׂראל הנם על דברי מלכי ישׂראל׃
33:19	ותפלתו והעתר לו וכל חטאתו ומעלו והמקמות אשׁר בנה בהם במות והעמיד האשׁרים והפסלים לפני הכנעו הנם כתובים על דברי חוזי׃
33:20	וישׁכב מנשׁה עם אבתיו ויקברהו ביתו וימלך אמון בנו תחתיו׃
33:21	בן עשׂרים ושׁתים שׁנה אמון במלכו ושׁתים שׁנים מלך בירושׁלם׃
33:22	ויעשׂ הרע בעיני יהוה כאשׁר עשׂה מנשׁה אביו ולכל הפסילים אשׁר עשׂה מנשׁה אביו זבח אמון ויעבדם׃
33:23	ולא נכנע מלפני יהוה כהכנע מנשׁה אביו כי הוא אמון הרבה אשׁמה׃
33:24	ויקשׁרו עליו עבדיו וימיתהו בביתו׃
33:25	ויכו עם הארץ את כל הקשׁרים על המלך אמון וימליכו עם הארץ את יאשׁיהו בנו תחתיו׃


33:1	A son of twelve years is Manasseh in his reigning, and fifty and five years he hath reigned in Jerusalem;
33:2	and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, like the abominations of the nations that Jehovah dispossessed from the presence of the sons of Israel,
33:3	and he turneth and buildeth the high places that Hezekiah his father hath broken down, and raiseth altars for Baalim, and maketh shrines, and boweth himself to all the host of the heavens, and serveth them.
33:4	And he hath built altars in the house of Jehovah of which Jehovah had said, `In Jerusalem is My name to the age.'
33:5	And he buildeth altars to all the host of the heavens in the two courts of the house of Jehovah.
33:6	And he hath caused his sons to pass over through fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and observed clouds and used enchantments and witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and a wizard; he hath multiplied to do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, to provoke him to anger.
33:7	And he placeth the graven image of the idol that he made in the house of God, of which God said unto David, and unto Solomon his son, `In this house, and in Jerusalem that I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I put My name to the age,
33:8	and I add not to turn aside the foot of Israel from off the ground that I appointed to your fathers, only, if they watch to do all that I have commanded them -- to all the law, and the statutes, and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.'
33:9	And Manasseh maketh Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, to do evil above the nations that Jehovah destroyed from the presence of the sons of Israel.
33:10	And Jehovah speaketh unto Manasseh and unto his people, and they have not attended,
33:11	and Jehovah bringeth in against them the heads of the host that the king of Asshur hath, and they capture Manasseh among the thickets, and bind him with brazen fetters, and cause him to go to Babylon.
33:12	And when he is in distress he hath appeased the face of Jehovah his God, and is humbled exceedingly before the God of his fathers,
33:13	and prayeth unto Him, and He is entreated of him, and heareth his supplication, and bringeth him back to Jerusalem, to his kingdom, and Manasseh knoweth that Jehovah -- He `is' God.
33:14	And after this he hath built an outer wall to the city of David, on the west of Gihon, in the valley, and at the entering in at the fish-gate, and it hath gone round to the tower, and he maketh it exceeding high, and he putteth heads of the force in all the cities of the bulwarks in Judah.
33:15	And he turneth aside the gods of the stranger, and the idol, out of the house of Jehovah, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of Jehovah and in Jerusalem, and casteth `them' to the outside of the city.
33:16	And he buildeth the altar of Jehovah, and sacrificeth upon it sacrifices of peace-offerings and thank-offering, and saith to Judah to serve Jehovah, God of Israel;
33:17	but still the people are sacrificing in high places, only -- to Jehovah their God.
33:18	And the rest of the matters of Manasseh, and his prayer unto his God, and the matters of the seers, those speaking unto him in the name of Jehovah, God of Israel, lo, they are `on the book of' the matters of the kings of Israel;
33:19	and his prayer, and his entreaty, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places in which he had built high places, and established the shrines and the graven images before his being humbled, lo, they are written beside the matters of Hozai.
33:20	And Manasseh lieth with his fathers, and they bury him in his own house, and reign doth Amon his son in his stead.
33:21	A son of twenty and two years `is' Amon in his reigning, and two years he hath reigned in Jerusalem,
33:22	and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, as did Manasseh his father, and to all the graven images that Manasseh his father had made hath Amon sacrificed, and serveth them,
33:23	and hath not been humbled before Jehovah, like the humbling of Manasseh his father, for Amon himself hath multiplied guilt.
33:24	And his servants conspire against him, and put him to death in his own house,
33:25	and the people of the land smite all those conspiring against king Amon, and the people of the land cause Josiah his son to reign in his stead.
