7:1Now when the wall was buylded, I hanged on the dores also, and the porters, syngers & leuites were appoynted.
7:2And I commaunded my brother Hanani, and Hanania the ruler of the castel at Ierusalem: for he was a faithfull man, and feared God more then dyd many other,
7:3and I sayde vnto them let not the gates of Ierusalem be opened, vntyll the sonne be whote. And whyle they were standinge in the watch, they shutt the dores and barred them. And we appoynted certayne cytesins of Ierusalem, appoynted to be watchmen, euery one to kepe hys watch, and euery one to be ouer against his house.
7:4As for the cite, it was large of rowme, and great, but the people were fewe therin, and the houses were not buylded.
7:5And my God gaue me in my hert, that I gathered togeather the principall men, & the officiers, and the people, to nombre them, and I founde a register of the nombre of them which came vp before out of the captiuyte:
7:6& founde wryten therin: these are the sonnes of the land that wente vp from the captiuyte of the caryinge awaye (whom Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon had brought awaye) & came agayne to Ierusalem & Iuda, euery one vnto his cytie.
7:7They which came wt Zorobabel are these: Iesua, Nehemia, Asariah, Raamia, Nahamani, Mardochee, Belsam, Mesperath, Beguai, Nahum and Baanah. This is the nombre of the men of the people of Israel.
7:8The chyldren of Pharos were two thousand, an hundred & two & seuentye:
7:9the chyldren of Saphatiah, thre hundred and two & seuentye:
7:10the children of Arah, syxe hundred and two and fyftye:
7:11the chyldren of the captayne of Moab amonge the chyldren of Iesua & Ioab, two thousande, eyght hundred, and eyghtene:
7:12the chyldren of Elam, a thousande, two hundred and foure and fyftye:
7:13the chyldren of Zathua, eyght hundred and fyue & fortye,
7:14the chyldren of Zachai seuen hundred and threskore:

7:48the chyldren of Lebanah, the chyldren of Hagaba, the chyldren of Salmat,
7:49the chyldren of Hanan, the chyldren of Gidel, the chyldren of Gaher,
7:50the chyldren of Reaia, the chyldren of Rezin, the chyldren of Necoda,
7:51the chyldren of Gasam, the chyldren of Usa the chyldren of Phaseah,
7:52the children of Besai, the chyldren of Meunim, the chyldren of Nephussim,
7:53the chyldren of Bachur, the chyldren of Hacupha, the chyldren of Harhur,
7:54the chyldren of Bazlith, the chyldren of Mehida, the chyldren of Harsa,
7:55the chyldren of Barcos, the chyldren of Sissera, the chyldren of Thamah,
7:56the chyldren of Neziah, the chyldren of Hatipha.
7:57The chyldren of Salomons seruauntes: the chyldren of Sotai, the chyldren of Sophereth, the chyldren of Pherida,
7:58the chyldren of Iaala, the chyldren of Darcon, the chyldren of Giddel,
7:59the chyldren of Saphatiah, the chyldren of Hatil, the chyldren of Pochereth of Zabaini, the chyldren of Amon.
7:60All these Nethinims and the children of Salomons seruauntes, were thre hundred & nynetie and two.
7:61And these wente vp also of Thel Mela, Thel Harsa, Cherub, Adon and Immer: but they coulde not shewe theyr fathers house nor theyr sede, and that they were of Israel.
7:62The chyldren of Dalaiah, the chyldren of Tobia and the chyldren of Necoda, syxe hundred and two and fortye.
7:63And of the preastes, the chyldren of Habaiah: the chyldren of Hacos, the chyldren of Bersilai, whych toke one of the daughters of Bersilai the Gileadite to wyfe, and was named after their name.
7:64These soughte theyr writyng in the register of theyr generacion, but they were not founde, therfore they were put from the presthode.
7:65And Hathirsata sayd vnto them, that they shulde not eate of the moost holy, tyll there came vp a Preaste whych shulde were Urim and Thumin.
7:66And so the whole congregacyon together was two & fortye thousande, thre hundred, & thre skore:
7:67besyde their seruauntes and maydens, of whom there were seuen thousande, thre hundred and seuen and thirtye. And they had two hundred and seuen and fortye syngynge men and wemen.
7:68Their horses, seuen hundred and syxe & thirtye, & their Mules: two hundred & fyue & fortye.
7:69The camels, foure hundred & fyue & thirtye: syxe thousande, seuen hundred and twentye Asses.
7:70And certayne of the auncyent fathers gaue vnto the worcke. Hathirsatha gaue to the treasure a thousand peces of gold, fyftie basens, fyue hundred & thirtye prestes garmentes.
7:71And some of the chefe fathers gaue vnto the treasure of the worke, twentie thousande peces of gold & two thousande & two hundred pounde of syluer.
7:72And the other people gaue twentye thousande peces of golde, and two thousande pounde of syluer and thre skore and seuen preastes garmentes.
7:73And the preastes & Leuites, the Porters, and the syngers, & the other of the people, and the Nethinims, & all Israel, dwelt in their cyties. And the seuenth moneth came, and the chyldren of Israel were in theyr cyties.

 

7:1Forsothe aftir that the wal of Jerusalem was bildid, and Y hadde set yatis, and Y hadde noumbrid porters, and syngeris,
7:2and dekenys, Y comaundide to Aneny, my brother, and to Ananye, the prince of the hows of Jerusalem; for he semyde a sothefast man, and dredynge God more than othere men diden;
7:3`and Y seide `to hem, The yatis of Jerusalem ben not openyd `til to the heete of the sunne; and, whanne Y was yit present, the yatis weren closid, and lockid. And Y settide keperis of the dwelleris of Jerusalem, alle men bi her whilis, and ech man ayens his hows.
7:4Sotheli the citee was ful brood and greet, and litil puple was in myddis therof, and housis weren not bildid.
7:5Forsothe God yaf in myn herte, and Y gaderide togidere the principal men, and magistratis, and the comyn puple, for to noumbre hem; and Y foond the book of the noumbre of hem, that hadden stied first. And it was foundun writun ther ynne,
7:6These ben the sones of the prouynce, `that stieden fro the caitifte of men passynge ouer, whiche Nabugodonosor, the kyng of Babiloyne, hadde `translatid, ether led ouer;
7:7and thei that weren comun with Zorobabel turneden ayen in to Jerusalem and in to Judee, ech man in to his citee; Josue, Neemye, Azarie, Raanye, Naanum, Mardochee, Bethsar, Mespharath, Beggaay, Naum, Baana. The noumbre of men of the puple of Israel;
7:8the sones of Pharos, two thousynde an hundrid and two and seuenti; the sones of Saphaie,
7:9thre hundrid and two and seuenti;

7:43dekenes, the sones of Josue and of Gadymel,
7:44sones of Odyna, foure and seuenti;

7:48sones of Sicca, sones of Phado, sones of Lebana, sones of Agaba, sones of Selmon,

7:51sones of Necuda, sones of Jezem, sones of Asa, sones of Phascha, sones of Besai,
7:52sones of Mynum, sones of Nephusym,
7:53sones of Bechue, sones of Acupha, sones of Assur,
7:54sones of Belloth, sones of Meida,
7:55sones of Arsa, sones of Berchos, sones of Sisara,
7:56sones of Thema, sones of Nesia,
7:57sones of Atipha, sones of the seruauntis of Salomon, sones of Sothai, sones of Sophoreth,
7:58sones of Pherida, sones of Jacala, sones of Dalcon, sones of Geddel, sones of Saphatie,
7:59sones of Atthal, the sones of Phetereth, `that was borun of Abaim, sone of Amon;
7:60alle Natynneis, and the sones of the seruauntis of Salomon, weren thre hundrid and two and twenti.
7:61Forsothe these it ben that stieden, Dethemel, Mela, Thelarsa, Cherub, Addo, and Emmer, and myyten not schewe the hows of her fadris, and her seed, whether thei weren of Israel; the sones of Dalaie,
7:62the sones of Tobie, the sones of Nethoda, sixe hundrid and two and fourti;
7:63and of prestis, the sones of Abia, the sones of Achos, the sones of Berzellai, that took a wijf of the douytris of Berzellai of Galaad, and was clepid bi the name of hem;
7:64these souyten the scripture of her genelogie, and founden not, and weren cast out of presthod.
7:65And Athersata seide to hem, that thei schulden not eete of the hooli thingis of hooli men, til a wijs prest `and lerud roos.
7:66Al the multitude as o man, two and fourti thousynde sixe hundrid and sixti,
7:67outakun the seruauntis and handmaidis of hem, that weren seuene thousynde thre hundrid and seuene and thretti; and among the syngeris and syngeressis, sixe hundrid and fyue and fourti.
7:68The horsis of hem, sixe hundrid and sixe and thritti; the mulis of hem, two hundrid and fyue and fourti;
7:69the camels of hem, foure hundrid and fyue and thritti; the assis of hem, sixe thousynde eiyte hundrid and thritti.
7:70Forsothe summe of the princes of meynees yauen costis in to the werk of God; Athersata yaf in to the tresour, a thousynde dragmes of gold, fifti viols, fyue hundrid and thritti cootis of prestis.
7:71And of the prynces of meynees thei yauen in to the tresour of the werk, twenti thousynde dragmes of gold, and two thousynde and two hundrid besauntis of siluer.
7:72And that that the residue puple yaf, twenti thousynde dragmes of gold, and two thousynde besauntis of siluer, and seuene and sixti cootis of prestis. Sotheli prestis, and dekenes, and porteris, and syngeris, and the residue puple, and Natynneis, and al Israel dwelliden in her citees.

7:61And these wente vp also: Michel, Mela, Thel, Harsa, Cherub, Addo, Immer: but they coulde not shewe their fathers house ner their sede, whether they were of Israel.
7:62The childre of Delaia, ye children of Tobia, & the childre of Necoda, were sixe hudreth & two & fortye.
7:63And of the prestes were, the children of Habaia, the childre of Hacoz, the children of Barsillai, which toke one of ye doughters of Barsillai the Gileadite to wyfe, and was named afther their name.
7:64These soughte the register of their generacion, and whan they foude it not, they were put from ye presthode.
7:65And Hathirsatha sayde vnto them, yt they shulde not eate of ye most holy, tyll there came vp a prest wt ye light and perfectnesse.
7:66The whole congregacio as one ma, was two and fortye thousande there hundreth, and thre score:
7:67besyde their seruauntes and maydes, of whom there were seuen thousande, thre hundreth and seue and thirtye. And they had two hundreth and seuen and fortie synginge men and wemen,
7:68seuen hundreth and sixe and thirtie horses, two hudreth and fyue and fortie Mules, foure hundreth and fyue and thirtie
7:69Camels: sixe thousande, seue hundreth and twentye Asses.
7:70And certayne of the awnciet fathers gaue vnto the worke. Hathirsatha gaue to the treasure a thousande guldens, fiftie basens, fyue hundreth and thyrtie prestes garmentes.
7:71And some of the chefe fathers gaue vnto ye treasure of the worke, twetye thousande guldens, two thousande and two hundreth poude of siluer.
7:72And the other people gaue twetye thousande guldens, and two thousande pounde of siluer, and seue and thre score prestes garmentes.
7:73And the prestes and Leuites, the Porters, the syngers, and the other of the people, and the Nethinims, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities.
