Job - Chapter: 5

>
5:1Call now, if there be any that wil answere thee, and to which of the Saints wilt thou turne?
5:2For wrath killeth the foolish man, and enuy slayeth the silly one.
5:3I haue seene the foolish taking roote: but suddenly I cursed his habitation.
5:4His children are farre from safetie, and they are crushed in the gate, neither is there any to deliuer them.
5:5Whose haruest the hungry eateth vp, and taketh it euen out of the thorns, and the robber swalloweth vp their substance.
5:6Although affliction commeth not forth of the dust, neither doeth trouble spring out of the ground:
5:7Yet man is borne vnto trouble, as the sparkes flie vpward.
5:8I would seeke vnto God, and vnto God would I commit my cause:
5:9Which doth great things & vnsearchable: marueilous things without number.
5:10Who giueth raine vpon the earth, and sendeth waters vpon the fields:
5:11To set vp on high those that be low; that those which mourne, may be exalted to safetie.
5:12Hee disappointeth the deuices of the craftie, so that their hands cannot performe their enterprise.
5:13He taketh the wise in their owne craftinesse: and the counsell of the froward is caried headlong.
5:14They meete with darkenesse in the day time, and grope in the noone day as in the night.
5:15But he saueth the poore from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mightie.
5:16So the poore hath hope, and iniquitie stoppeth her mouth.
5:17Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almightie.
5:18For he maketh sore, and bindeth vp: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.
5:19Hee shall deliuer thee in sixe troubles, yea in seuen there shall no euill touch thee.
5:20In famine he shall redeeme thee from death: and in warre from the power of the sword.
5:21Thou shalt be hidde from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction, when it commeth.
5:22At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
5:23For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.
5:24And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle shall bee in peace; and thou shalt visite thy habitation, and shalt not sinne.
5:25Thou shalt know also that thy seede shalbe great, and thine offspring as the grasse of the earth.
5:26Thou shalt come to thy graue in a full age, like as a shocke of corne commeth in, in his season.
5:27Loe this, wee haue searched it, so it is; heare it, and know thou it for thy good.

5:1Crye I pray thee, if there be any that will aunswere thee, & loke thou vpon any of the holy
5:2As for the foolish ma, wrathfulnesse killeth him, and enuie slayeth the ignorant
5:3I haue seene my selfe when the foolish was deepe rooted, and sodenly I cursed his habitation
5:4His children were without prosperitie, and they were slayne in the gate, and there was no man to deliuer them
5:5His haruest was eaten of the hungrie, & taken from among the thornes, and the thurstie drunke vp their labour: It is not the earth that bringeth foorth iniquitie
5:6Neither commeth sorowe out of the ground
5:7But man is borne vnto labour, like as the sparkes flee vp [out of the hot coles,
5:8But I woulde aske counsell at the Lorde, and talke with God
5:9Whiche doth great thinges and vnsearcheable, and maruels without number
5:10He geueth rayne vpon the earth, and powreth water vpon the streetes
5:11To set vp them that be of lowe degree, and that those which are in heauinesse may be exalted to saluation
5:12He destroyeth the deuices of the subtyll, so that their handes are not able to perfourme that which they do enterprise
5:13He compasseth the wise in their owne craftinesse, & maketh foolishe the counsell of the wicked
5:14They runne into darknesse by fayre day, and grope at the noone day as in the night
5:15But he deliuereth the poore from the sworde, from their threatninges, and from the violence of the mightie
5:16He is the hope of the poore, & the mouth of the wicked shalbe stopped
5:17Behold, blessed is the man whom God correcteth, therefore refuse not thou the chastening of the almightie
5:18For be maketh a wounde and he healeth: he smiteth, and his hande maketh whole againe
5:19He shall deliuer thee in sixe troubles, & in the seuenth there shall no euil come to thee
5:20In hunger he shall saue thee from death, and when it is warre, from the power of the sworde
5:21Thou shalt be hyd from the scourge of the tongue, & when destruction commeth thou shalt not neede to feare
5:22In destruction and dearth thou shalt be mery, and shalt not be afrayde of the beastes of the earth
5:23For the stones of the land shalbe confederate with thee, and the beastes of the fielde shalbe at peace with thee
5:24And thou shalt knowe that thy dwelling place shalbe in rest, and thou shalt visite thy habitation, & shalt not sinne
5:25Thou shalt see also that thy seede shall be great, and thy posteritie as the grasse vpon the earth
5:26Thou shalt come also to thy graue in a full age, like a corne sheafe cut downe in due season
5:27Lo, this we our selues haue proued by experience, and euen thus it is: Hearken thou to it also, that thou mayest take heede to thy selfe

5:1Call nowe, if any will answere thee, and to which of the Saintes wilt thou turne?
5:2Doubtlesse anger killeth the foolish, and enuie slayeth the idiote.
5:3I haue seene the foolish well rooted, and suddenly I cursed his habitation, saying,
5:4His children shalbe farre from saluation, and they shall be destroyed in the gate, and none shall deliuer them.
5:5The hungrie shall eate vp his haruest: yea, they shall take it from among the thornes, and the thirstie shall drinke vp their substance.
5:6For miserie commeth not foorth of the dust, neither doeth affliction spring out of the earth.
5:7But man is borne vnto trauaile, as the sparkes flie vpwarde.
5:8But I would inquire at God, and turne my talke vnto God:
5:9Which doeth great things and vnsearchable, and marueilous things without nomber.
5:10He giueth raine vpon the earth, and powreth water vpon the streetes,
5:11And setteth vp on hie them that be lowe, that the sorowfull may be exalted to saluation.
5:12He scattereth the deuices of the craftie: so that their handes can not accomplish that which they doe enterprise.
5:13He taketh the wise in their craftinesse, and the counsel of the wicked is made foolish.
5:14They meete with darkenesse in the day time, and grope at noone day, as in the night.
5:15But he saueth the poore from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hande of the violent man,
5:16So that the poore hath his hope, but iniquitie shall stop her mouth.
5:17Beholde, blessed is the man whome God correcteth: therefore refuse not thou the chastising of the Almightie.
5:18For he maketh the wound, and bindeth it vp: he smiteth, and his handes make whole.
5:19He shall deliuer thee in sixe troubles, and in the seuenth the euill shall not touch thee.
5:20In famine he shall deliuer thee from death: and in battel from the power of the sworde.
5:21Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue, and thou shalt not be afraid of destruction when it commeth.
5:22But thou shalt laugh at destruction and dearth, and shalt not be afraide of the beast of the earth.
5:23For the stones of the fielde shall be in league with thee, and the beastes of the field shall be at peace with thee.
5:24And thou shalt knowe, that peace shall be in thy tabernacle, and thou shalt visite thine habitation, and shalt not sinne.
5:25Thou shalt perceiue also, that thy seede shalbe great, and thy posteritie as the grasse of the earth.
5:26Thou shalt goe to thy graue in a ful age, as a ricke of corne commeth in due season into the barne.
5:27Lo, thus haue we inquired of it, and so it is: heare this and knowe it for thy selfe.
