| 5:11 | to set vp them that be of lowe degre, and that those which are in heuynesse may come to prosperite. |
| 5:12 | He destroyeth the deuyces of the sotyll, so that their handes are not able to performe any stedfast thing. |
| 5:13 | He compaseth the wyse in their awne craftynes, and ouerthroweth the councell of the wycked. |
| 5:14 | In somoche that they runne into darcknes by fayre daye, and grope aboute them at the none daye, lyke as in the nyght. |
| 5:15 | He shall delyuer the pore from the sweard, and from the threatenynges of the vngodly, and from the violence of the myghty. |
| 5:16 | He is the hope of the poore, and the mouth of the wicked shalbe stopped. |
| 5:17 | Beholde, happye is the man, whom God punissheth: therfore, refuse not thou the chastenynge of the almyghtye. |
| 5:18 | For though he make a wounde, he geueth a playster: though he smyte, hys hande maketh whole agayne. |
| 5:19 | He shall delyuer the in syxe troubles, and in the seuenth there shall no euell come to the. |
| 5:20 | In honger he shall saue the from death: and when it is warre, from the power of the swearde. |
| 5:21 | Thou shalt be kept from the euell tonge, and when trouble commeth, thou shalt not nede to feare. |
| 5:22 | In destruccion and derth thou shalt be mery, and shalt not be afrayed of beastes of the earth. |
| 5:23 | For the stones of the lande shalbe confederate with the, & the beastes of the felde shall geue the peace. |
| 5:24 | And thou shalt knowe that thy dwellyng place shalbe in rest: and thou shalt go and beholde thy habytacyon, and shalt not synne. |
| 5:25 | Thou shalt se also, that thy sede shall encreace, and that thy posteryte shalbe as the grasse vpon the earth. |
| 5:26 | Thou shalt come also to thy graue in a fayre age, lyke as when they take vp a corne shefe in due season. |
| 5:27 | Lo, thys we oure selues haue proued by experience, and euen thus it is. Herken thou to it also, that thou mayest take hede to thy selfe. |

| 5:17 | Blessid is the man, which is chastisid of the Lord; therfor repreue thou not the blamyng of the Lord. |
| 5:18 | For he woundith, and doith medicyn; he smytith, and hise hondis schulen make hool. |
| 5:19 | In sixe tribulaciouns he schal delyuere thee, and in the seuenthe tribulacioun yuel schal not touche thee. |
| 5:20 | In hungur he schal delyuere thee fro deeth, and in batel fro the power of swerd. |
| 5:21 | Thou schalt be hid fro the scourge of tunge, and thou schalt not drede myseiste, `ethir wretchidnesse, whanne it cometh. |
| 5:22 | In distriyng maad of enemyes and in hungur thou schalt leiye, and thou schalt not drede the beestis of erthe. |
| 5:23 | But thi couenaunt schal be with the stonys of erthe, and beestis of erthe schulen be pesible to thee. |
| 5:24 | And thou schalt wite, that thi tabernacle hath pees, and thou visitynge thi fairnesse schalt not do synne. |
| 5:25 | And thou schalt wite also, that thi seed schal be many fold, and thi generacioun schal be as an erbe of erthe. |
| 5:26 | In abundaunce thou schalt go in to the sepulcre, as an heep of wheete is borun in his tyme. |
| 5:27 | Lo! this is so, as we han souyt; which thing herd, trete thou in minde. |

| 5:16 | that the poore maye haue hope, & that the mouth of the oppressoure maye be stopped. |
| 5:17 | Beholde, happie is the man, whom God punysheth: therfore, despyse not thou ye chastenynge of the Allmighty. |
| 5:18 | For though he make a wounde, he geueth a medicyne agayne: though he smyte, his honde maketh whole agayne. |
| 5:19 | He delyuereth the out of sixe troubles, so that in the seuenth there can no harme touch the. |
| 5:20 | In the myddest of honger he saueth ye from death: and when it is warre, from the power of the swearde. |
| 5:21 | He shall kepe the from the perlous tonge so that when trouble commeth, thou shalt not nede to feare. |
| 5:22 | In destruccion and derth thou shalt be mery, and shalt not be afrayed for the beastes of the earth: |
| 5:23 | But the castels in the londe shal be confederate with the, & the beastes of the felde shall geue the peace: |
| 5:24 | Yee thou shalt se, that thy dwellynge place shalbe in rest: thou shalt beholde thy substaunce, and be nomore punyshed for synne. |
| 5:25 | Thou shalt se also, that thy sede shall encreace, and that thy posterite shalbe as the grasse vpon the earth. |
| 5:26 | Thou shalt come to thy graue in a fayre age, like as ye corne sheeues are brought in to the barne in due season. |
| 5:27 | Lo, this is the matter, as we oure selues haue proued by experience. Therfore now that thou hearest it, take better hede to thy selff. |
