Job - Chapter: 8

>
8:1Then answered Baldad the Suhite, and sayde:
8:2How longe wilt thou talke of soch thynges? how longe shall thy mouth speake so proude wordes?
8:3Doth God peruerte the thynge that is laufull? Or doth the almyghtye destroye the thynge that is ryght?
8:4For seyng that thy sonnes synned agaynst hym, dyd not he punysh them for theyr wyckednesse?
8:5If thou woldest now resort vnto God by tymes, and make thyne humble prayer to the almyghty:
8:6yf thou woldest lyue a pure and a godly lyfe: shulde he not awake vp vnto the immediatly, and geue the, the bewtye of ryghtewesnesse agayne?
8:7In so moche, that where in so euer thou haddest lytle afore, thou shuldest now haue greate aboundaunce.
8:8Enquere (I praye the) of them that haue bene before the, and search diligently amonge theyr fathers.
8:9For we are but of yesterdaye, and consydre not, that oure dayes vpon earth are but a very shadowe.
8:10Shall not they shewe the, and tell the, yee, and gladly confesse the same?
8:11Maye a rysshe be grene without moystnesse? Or maye the grasse growe without water?
8:12No: but (or euer it be shot forth, & or euer it be gathered) it withered, before eny other herbe.
8:13Euen so goeth it with all them, that forget God: and euen thus also shall the ypocrites hope come to naught.
8:14Hys confydence shalbe destroyed, and hys trust shalbe a spiders webbe.
8:15He shall leane vpon his house, but it shall not stande: he shall holde hym fast by it, yet shall it not endure.
8:16It is euen as a grene tree before the sonne, & shoteth forth the braunches in hys garden.
8:17It taketh many rotes by a well syde, in so moch that it is lyke an house of stones.
8:18But yf it be taken out of hys place, euery man denyeth it, sayenge: I knowe the not.
8:19Lo, thus is it with him, that reioyseth in his awne doynges: and as for other, they growe out of the earth.
8:20Behold, God will not cast awaye a vertuous man, nether wyll he helpe the vngodly.
8:21Thy mouth shall he fyll with laughing, and thy lyppes with gladnesse.
8:22They also that hate the, shalbe confounded, and the dwellinge of the vngodly shall come to naught.

8:1Sotheli Baldath Suytes answeride, and seide,
8:2Hou longe schalt thou speke siche thingis? The spirit of the word of thi mouth is manyfold.
8:3Whether God supplauntith, `ethir disseyueth, doom, and whether Almyyti God distrieth that, that is iust?
8:4Yhe, thouy thi sones synneden ayens hym, and he lefte hem in the hond of her wickidnesse;
8:5netheles, if thou risist eerli to God, and bisechist `Almyyti God, if thou goist clene and riytful,
8:6anoon he schal wake fulli to thee, and schal make pesible the dwellyng place of thi ryytfulnesse;
8:7in so miche that thi formere thingis weren litil, and that thi laste thingis be multiplied greetli.
8:8For whi, axe thou the formere generacioun, and seke thou diligentli the mynde of fadris. For we ben men of yistirdai, and `kunnen not; for oure daies ben as schadewe on the erthe.
8:9n/a
8:10And thei schulen teche thee, thei schulen speke to thee, and of her herte thei schulen bring forth spechis.
8:11Whether a rusche may lyue with out moysture? ethir a spier `may wexe with out watir?
8:12Whanne it is yit in the flour, nethir is takun with hond, it wexeth drie bifor alle erbis.
8:13So the weies of alle men, that foryeten God; and the hope of an ypocrite schal perische.
8:14His cowardise schal not plese hym, and his trist schal be as a web of yreyns.
8:15He schal leene, `ether reste, on his hows, and it schal not stonde; he schal vndursette it, and it schal not rise togidere.
8:16The rusche semeth moist, bifor that the sunne come; and in the risyng of the sunne the seed therof schal go out.
8:17Rootis therof schulen be maad thicke on an heep of stoonys, and it schal dwelle among stoonys.
8:18If a man drawith it out of `his place, his place schal denye it, and schal seie, Y knowe thee not.
8:19For this is the gladnesse of his weie, that eft othere ruschis springe out of the erthe.
8:20Forsothe God schal not caste a wei a symple man, nethir schal dresse hond to wickid men;
8:21til thi mouth be fillid with leiytir, and thi lippis with hertli song.
8:22Thei that haten thee schulen be clothid with schenschip; and the tabernacle of wickid men schal not stonde.

8:1Then answered Baldad the Suhite, and sayde:
8:2How longe wilt thou talke of soch thinges? how longe shal yi mouth speake so proude wordes?
8:3Doth God peruerte the thinge that is laufull? Or, doth the Allmightie destroye the thynge that is right?
8:4Whe thy sonnes synned agaynst him, dyd not he punysh the for their wickednesse?
8:5Yff thou woldest now resorte vnto God by tymes, and make thine humble prayer to ye Allmightie:
8:6yf thou woldest lyue a pure and a godly life: shulde he not wake vp vnto the immediatly, & geue the the bewtie of rightuousnesse agayne?
8:7In so moch, that where i so euer thou haddest litle afore, thou shuldest now haue greate abundaunce.
8:8Enquere of them that haue bene before the, search diligently amonge thy forefathers:
8:9Namely, yt we are but of yesterdaye, and considre not, that oure dayes vpon earth are buth a very shadow.
8:10They shall shewe the, they shall tell the, yee they will gladly confesse the same.
8:11Maye a resshe be grene without moystnesse? maye the grasse growe without water?
8:12No: but (or euer it be shot forth, and or euer it be gathered) it wythereth, before eny other herbe.
8:13Euen so goeth it with all them, that forget God: and euen thus also shal the ypocrytes hope come to naught.
8:14His confidence shalbe destroyed, for he trusteth in a spyders webbe.
8:15He leeneth him vpo his house, but he shal not stonde: he holdeth him fast by it, yet shal he not endure.
8:16Oft tymes a thinge doth florish, and men thynke that it maye abyde the Sonneshyne: it shuteth forth the braunches in his garden,
8:17it taketh many rotes, in so moch that it is like an house off stones.
8:18But yf it be taken out off his place, euery man denyeth it, sayenge: I knowe the not.
8:19Lo, thus is it wt him, that reioyseth in his owne doinges: and as for other, they growe out of the earth.
8:20Beholde, God will not cast awaye a vertuous man, nether wil he helpe the vngodly.
8:21Thy mouth shall he fyll with laughynge, ad thy lyppes with gladnesse.
8:22They that hate the, shalbe confounded, & ye dwellinges of ye vngodly shal come to naught.
