| 8:2 | How longe wilt thou talke of soch thynges? how longe shall thy mouth speake so proude wordes? |
| 8:3 | Doth God peruerte the thynge that is laufull? Or doth the almyghtye destroye the thynge that is ryght? |
| 8:4 | For seyng that thy sonnes synned agaynst hym, dyd not he punysh them for theyr wyckednesse? |
| 8:5 | If thou woldest now resort vnto God by tymes, and make thyne humble prayer to the almyghty: |
| 8:6 | yf thou woldest lyue a pure and a godly lyfe: shulde he not awake vp vnto the immediatly, and geue the, the bewtye of ryghtewesnesse agayne? |
| 8:7 | In so moche, that where in so euer thou haddest lytle afore, thou shuldest now haue greate aboundaunce. |
| 8:8 | Enquere (I praye the) of them that haue bene before the, and search diligently amonge theyr fathers. |
| 8:9 | For we are but of yesterdaye, and consydre not, that oure dayes vpon earth are but a very shadowe. |
| 8:10 | Shall not they shewe the, and tell the, yee, and gladly confesse the same? |
| 8:11 | Maye a rysshe be grene without moystnesse? Or maye the grasse growe without water? |
| 8:12 | No: but (or euer it be shot forth, & or euer it be gathered) it withered, before eny other herbe. |
| 8:13 | Euen so goeth it with all them, that forget God: and euen thus also shall the ypocrites hope come to naught. |
| 8:14 | Hys confydence shalbe destroyed, and hys trust shalbe a spiders webbe. |
| 8:15 | He shall leane vpon his house, but it shall not stande: he shall holde hym fast by it, yet shall it not endure. |
| 8:16 | It is euen as a grene tree before the sonne, & shoteth forth the braunches in hys garden. |
| 8:17 | It taketh many rotes by a well syde, in so moch that it is lyke an house of stones. |
| 8:18 | But yf it be taken out of hys place, euery man denyeth it, sayenge: I knowe the not. |
| 8:19 | Lo, thus is it with him, that reioyseth in his awne doynges: and as for other, they growe out of the earth. |
| 8:20 | Behold, God will not cast awaye a vertuous man, nether wyll he helpe the vngodly. |
| 8:21 | Thy mouth shall he fyll with laughing, and thy lyppes with gladnesse. |
| 8:22 | They also that hate the, shalbe confounded, and the dwellinge of the vngodly shall come to naught. |

| 8:2 | Hou longe schalt thou speke siche thingis? The spirit of the word of thi mouth is manyfold. |
| 8:3 | Whether God supplauntith, `ethir disseyueth, doom, and whether Almyyti God distrieth that, that is iust? |
| 8:4 | Yhe, thouy thi sones synneden ayens hym, and he lefte hem in the hond of her wickidnesse; |
| 8:5 | netheles, if thou risist eerli to God, and bisechist `Almyyti God, if thou goist clene and riytful, |
| 8:6 | anoon he schal wake fulli to thee, and schal make pesible the dwellyng place of thi ryytfulnesse; |
| 8:7 | in so miche that thi formere thingis weren litil, and that thi laste thingis be multiplied greetli. |
| 8:8 | For whi, axe thou the formere generacioun, and seke thou diligentli the mynde of fadris. For we ben men of yistirdai, and `kunnen not; for oure daies ben as schadewe on the erthe. |

| 8:13 | So the weies of alle men, that foryeten God; and the hope of an ypocrite schal perische. |
| 8:14 | His cowardise schal not plese hym, and his trist schal be as a web of yreyns. |
| 8:15 | He schal leene, `ether reste, on his hows, and it schal not stonde; he schal vndursette it, and it schal not rise togidere. |
| 8:16 | The rusche semeth moist, bifor that the sunne come; and in the risyng of the sunne the seed therof schal go out. |
| 8:17 | Rootis therof schulen be maad thicke on an heep of stoonys, and it schal dwelle among stoonys. |
| 8:18 | If a man drawith it out of `his place, his place schal denye it, and schal seie, Y knowe thee not. |
| 8:19 | For this is the gladnesse of his weie, that eft othere ruschis springe out of the erthe. |
| 8:20 | Forsothe God schal not caste a wei a symple man, nethir schal dresse hond to wickid men; |
| 8:21 | til thi mouth be fillid with leiytir, and thi lippis with hertli song. |
| 8:22 | Thei that haten thee schulen be clothid with schenschip; and the tabernacle of wickid men schal not stonde. |

| 8:16 | Oft tymes a thinge doth florish, and men thynke that it maye abyde the Sonneshyne: it shuteth forth the braunches in his garden, |
| 8:17 | it taketh many rotes, in so moch that it is like an house off stones. |
| 8:18 | But yf it be taken out off his place, euery man denyeth it, sayenge: I knowe the not. |
