Job - Chapter: 15

>
15:1Then aunswered Eliphaz the Themanite, and saide
15:2Shall a wyse mans aunswere be as the winde, and fill a mans belly as it were with the winde of the east
15:3Shall he reproue with a worde that is nothing worth, & speake the thinges which can do no good
15:4Surely thou hast cast of feare, and restrainest prayer before God
15:5For thy mouth setteth forth thyne owne iniquitie, seeing thou hast chosen the tongue of the craftie
15:6Thyne owne mouth condempneth thee, and not I: yea, thyne owne lippes shape an aunswere against thee
15:7Art thou the first man that euer was borne? or wast thou made before the hils
15:8Hast thou heard the secret counsell of God? and doest thou restraine wysdome to thee
15:9What knowest thou, that we knowe not? And what vnderstandest thou, but we can the same
15:10With vs are both olde and aged men, yea such as haue liued longer then thy father
15:11Thinkest thou it a small thing of the consolations of God? with thee is a lying worde
15:12Why doth thyne heart so bewitche thee? And wherefore winckest thou with thyne eyes
15:13That thy minde is so pufte vp against God, and lettest such wordes go out of thy mouth
15:14What is man, that he should be cleane? and he which is borne of a woman, whereby he might be righteous
15:15Beholde he doth not trust his sainctes, yea, the very heauens are not cleane in his sight
15:16How much more then an abhominable and vyle man, which drincketh wickednesse like water
15:17I will tel thee, heare me, and I will shewe thee that I haue seene
15:18Which wyse men haue tolde, and haue not hid that which they receaued from theyr fathers
15:19Unto whom alone the earth was geue, and no straunger went among them
15:20The vngodly soroweth all the dayes of his lyfe as it were a woman with childe, and the number of a tirauntes yeres is vnknowen
15:21A feareful sounde is euer in his eares, and when he is in peace, the destroyer shall come vpon him
15:22He beleueth neuer to be deliuered out of darknesse: for the sworde is alwayes before his eyes
15:23He wandreth abrode for bread where it is, knowing that the day of darkenesse is redie at his hande
15:24Trouble and anguishe wil make him afrayde, and compasse him about, as is a king in the middest of an armie
15:25For he hath stretched out his hande against God, and armed him selfe against the almightie
15:26He runneth proudly vpon him, & with a stiffe necke fighteth he against him
15:27Where as he couereth his face with fatnesse, and maketh his body well lyking
15:28Therefore shall his dwelling be in desolate cities, and in houses which no man inhabiteth, but are become heapes of stones
15:29He shall not be riche, neither shall his substaunce continue, neither shal the prosperitie thereof be prolonged vpon earth
15:30He shall neuer depart out of darkenesse, the flame shal drye vp his branches, with the blast of ye mouth of God shall he be taken away
15:31He beleeueth not that he erreth in vanitie, and yet vanitie shalbe his recompence
15:32He shal perishe afore his time be worne out, and his braunche shall not be greene
15:33He shalbe plucked of as an vntimely grape from the vine, and shall let his floure fall as the oliue doth
15:34For the congregation of hypocrites shalbe desolate, and the fire shall consume the houses of such as are greedie to receaue giftes
15:35He conceaueth trauaile, and beareth vanitie, and their body bringeth foorth disceyte

15:1Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and saide,
15:2Shal a wise man speake words of ye winde, and fill his bellie with the East winde?
15:3Shall he dispute with wordes not comely? or with talke that is not profitable?
15:4Surely thou hast cast off feare, and restrainest prayer before God.
15:5For thy mouth declareth thine iniquitie, seeing thou hast chosen ye tongue of the crafty.
15:6Thine owne mouth condemneth thee, and not I, and thy lippes testifie against thee.
15:7Art thou the first man, that was borne? and wast thou made before the hils?
15:8Hast thou heard the secret counsell of God, and doest thou restraine wisedome to thee?
15:9What knowest thou that we knowe not? and vnderstandest that is not in vs?
15:10With vs are both auncient and very aged men, farre older then thy father.
15:11Seeme the consolations of God small vnto thee? is this thing strange vnto thee?
15:12Why doeth thine heart take thee away, and what doe thine eyes meane,
15:13That thou answerest to God at thy pleasure, and bringest such wordes out of thy mouth?
15:14What is man, that he should be cleane? and he that is borne of woman, that he shoulde be iust?
15:15Beholde, he founde no stedfastnesse in his Saintes: yea, the heauens are not cleane in his sight.
15:16How much more is man abominable, and filthie, which drinketh iniquitie like water?
15:17I will tell thee: heare me, and I will declare that which I haue seene:
15:18Which wise men haue tolde, as they haue heard of their fathers, and haue not kept it secret:
15:19To whome alone the land was giuen and no stranger passed through them.
15:20The wicked man is continually as one that traueileth of childe, and the nomber of yeeres is hid from the tyrant.
15:21A sounde of feare is in his eares, and in his prosperitie the destroyer shall come vpon him.
15:22He beleeueth not to returne out of darknesse: for he seeth the sworde before him.
15:23He wandreth to and from for bread where he may: he knoweth that the day of darkenesse is prepared at hande.
15:24Affliction and anguish shall make him afraide: they shall preuaile against him as a King readie to the battell.
15:25For he hath stretched out his hand against GOD, and made him selfe strong against the Almightie.
15:26Therefore God shall runne vpon him, euen vpon his necke, and against the most thicke part of his shielde.
15:27Because he hath couered his face with his fatnesse, and hath colloppes in his flancke.
15:28Though he dwell in desolate cities, and in houses which no man inhabiteth, but are become heapes,
15:29He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall he prolong the perfection thereof in the earth.
15:30He shall neuer depart out of darkenesse: the flame shall drie vp his branches, and he shall goe away with the breath of his mouth.
15:31He beleeueth not that he erreth in vanitie: therefore vanitie shalbe his change.
15:32His branch shall not be greene, but shall be cut off before his day.
15:33God shall destroy him as the vine her sower grape, and shall cast him off, as the oliue doeth her flowre.
15:34For the congregation of the hypocrite shalbe desolate, and fire shall deuoure the houses of bribes.
15:35For they conceiue mischiefe and bring foorth vanitie, and their bellie hath prepared deceite.

15:1Then answered Eliphas the Themanite, and said:
15:2Shal a wyse mans answer be the scyence of the wynde, and fil any mans Bely as it were with the wynde of the east?
15:3Shal he reproue wt a word, that is nothyng worth: and speake the thinges, which can do no good?
15:4As for shame, thou hast sett it asyde, elles woldest thou not make so many wordes before God:
15:5but thy wyckednesse teacheth thy mouth, and so thou hast chosen the a craftye tonge.
15:6Thyne awne mouth condempneth the, and not I: yee, thyne awne lyppes shape an answer agaynst the.
15:7Art thou the fyrste man, that euer was borne? Or, wast thou made before the hylles?
15:8hast thou hearde the secrete councell of God, that all wysdome is to lytle for the?
15:9What knowest thou, that we knowe not? And what vnderstandest thou, but we can the same?
15:10With vs are both olde and aged men, yee, soch as haue lyued longer then thy father.
15:11Thynckest thou it a small thynge of the consolacyons of God? with the is a lyenge word.
15:12Why doth thyne hert so be wytch the? And wherfore wynckest thou wyth thyne eyes,
15:13that thy mynde is so puft vp agaynst God, and lettest soch wordes go oute of thy mouth?
15:14What is man, that he shulde be cleane? what hath he (which is borne of a woman) wherby he myght be righteous?
15:15Behold, he doth not trust hys saynctes: yee, the very heauens are not cleane in hys syght.
15:16Howe moch more then an abhomynable and vyle man, which drincketh wickednesse lyke water?
15:17I wyll tell the, heare me: and I wyll shewe the that I haue sene:
15:18which wyse men haue tolde, and hath not bene hyd from their fathers
15:19vnto whom onely the earthe was geuen, and no straunger went amonge them.
15:20The vngodly soroweth all the dayes of hys lyfe as it were a woman with a childe, and the nombre of a tyrauntes yeares is vnknowne.
15:21A fearfull sounde is euer in hys eares, and when it is peace, yet feareth he destruccyon.
15:22He beleueth neuer to be delyuered oute of darckenes, for the swearde is alwaye before hys eyes.
15:23When he goeth forth to get his lyuying, he seeth plainely, that the daye of darcknesse is at hande.
15:24Sorowe and carefulnesse wyll make hym afrayed, and compasse hym rounde aboute, lyke as it were a kynge with hys hoost ready to the batayll.
15:25For he hath stretched out hys hande agaynst God, and armed hym selfe agaynst the almyghtye,
15:26He runneth proudly vpon hym, and with a styff necke fyghteth he agaynst hym:
15:27where as he couereth hys face with fatnesse, and maketh hys body well lykynge.
15:28Therfore shall hys dwellynge be in desolate cyties, and in houses which no man inhabyteth, but are become heapes of stones.
15:29He shall not be riche, nether shall hys substaunce contynue, ner encrease vpon earthe.
15:30He shall neuer come oute of darcknesse, the flame shall drye vp hys braunches: with the blast of the mouth of God shall he be taken awaye.
15:31He beleueth not that he is in vanyte, and yet he is out of the waye, and vanyte shalbe hys recompence.
15:32He shall perysh, afore hys tyme be worne out, and hys braunche shall not be grene.
15:33He shalbe pluckt of as an vntymely grape from the vyne, & shall lett his floure fall, as the olyue doth.
15:34For the congregacyyon of ypocrites shalbe desolate and vnfrutefull, and the fyre shall consume the houses of soch as are gredy to receaue giftes.
15:35He conceaueth trauayle, and beareth vanyte, and theyr bodye bryngeth forth disceate.
