19:1Iob aunswered, and saide
19:2How long wyll ye vexe my soule, and trouble me with wordes
19:3Lo, ten times haue ye reproched me, and are not ashamed, but haue laughed me to scorne
19:4Be it that I haue erred in deede, myne errour then remaineth with my selfe
19:5But if ye wyll aduaunce your selues against me, and rebuke me for the shame that is come vpon me
19:6Know this then, that it is God which hath ouerthrowe me, and hath compassed me with his net
19:7If I complaine of the violence that is done vnto me, I cannot be heard: and if I crye, there is no sentence geuen with me
19:8He hath hedged vp my way that I can not passe, and he hath set darkenesse in my pathes
19:9He hath spoyled me of myne honour, and taken the crowne away from my head
19:10He hath destroyed me on euery side and I am gone: my hope hath he taken away as a tree pluckt vp by the roote
19:11His wrath is kindled against me, he taketh me as though I were his enemie
19:12His men of warre come together, which made their way ouer me, and besieged my dwelling rounde about
19:13He hath put my brethren farre away from me, and myne acquaintaunce are also become straungers vnto me
19:14Myne owne kinsefolkes haue forsaken me, and my best acquainted haue forgotten me
19:15The seruauntes and maydens of myne owne house toke me for a straunger, and I am become as an aliaunt in their sight
19:16I called my seruaunt, and he gaue me no aunswere: no though I prayed him with my mouth
19:17Myne owne wyfe might not abyde my breath, though I prayed her for the children sake of myne owne body
19:18Yea, the young men despised me, and when I rose they spake euill vpon me
19:19All my most familiers abhorred me: and they whom I loued best, are turned against me
19:20My bone cleaueth to my skinne and to my fleshe, onely there is left me the skinne about my teeth
19:21Haue pitie vpon me, haue pitie vpon me, O ye my friendes, for the hande of God hath touched me
19:22Why do ye persecute me as God doth and are not satisfied with my fleshe
19:23O that my wordes were now written, O that they were put in a booke
19:24And grauen with an iron penne in leade, or in stone, to continue
19:25For I am sure that my redeemer saueth, and he shall rayse vp at the latter day them that lye in the dust
19:26And though after my skinne the wormes destroy this body, yet shall I see God in my fleshe
19:27Whom I my selfe shall see, and myne eyes shall beholde, and none other for me, though my raines are consumed within me
19:28But ye saide, why is he persecuted? and there was a deepe matter in me
19:29But beware of the sworde: for the sword wylbe auenged of wickednesse, and be sure that there is a iudgement

 

19:1Bvt Iob answered, and said,
19:2Howe long will yee vexe my soule, and torment me with wordes?
19:3Ye haue now ten times reproched me, and are not ashamed: ye are impudent toward mee.
19:4And though I had in deede erred, mine errour remaineth with me.
19:5But in deede if ye will aduance your selues against me, and rebuke me for my reproche,
19:6Know nowe, that God hath ouerthrowen me, and hath compassed me with his net.
19:7Beholde, I crie out of violence, but I haue none answere: I crie, but there is no iudgement.
19:8Hee hath hedged vp my way that I cannot passe, and he hath set darkenesse in my paths.
19:9Hee hath spoyled mee of mine honour, and taken the crowne away from mine head.
19:10He hath destroyed mee on euery side and I am gone: and he hath remoued mine hope like a tree.
19:11And he hath kindled his wrath against me, and counteth mee as one of his enemies.
19:12His armies came together, and made their way vpon me, and camped about my tabernacle.
19:13He hath remooued my brethre farre from me, and also mine acquaintance were strangers vnto me.
19:14My neighbours haue forsaken me, and my familiars haue forgotten me.
19:15They that dwel in mine house, and my maydes tooke me for a stranger: for I was a stranger in their sight.
19:16I called my seruant, but he would not answere, though I prayed him with my mouth.
19:17My breath was strange vnto my wife, though I prayed her for the childrens sake of mine owne body.
19:18The wicked also despised mee, and when I rose, they spake against me.
19:19All my secret friends abhorred me, and they whome I loued, are turned against me.
19:20My bone cleaueth to my skinne and to my flesh, and I haue escaped with the skinne of my teeth.
19:21Haue pitie vpon me: haue pitie vpon me, (O yee my friendes) for the hande of God hath touched me.
19:22Why do ye persecute me, as God? and are not satisfied with my flesh?
19:23Oh that my wordes were nowe written! oh that they were written euen in a booke,
19:24And grauen with an yron pen in lead, or in stone for euer!
19:25For I am sure, that my Redeemer liueth, and he shall stand the last on the earth.
19:26And though after my skin wormes destroy this bodie, yet shall I see God in my flesh.
19:27Whome I my selfe shall see, and mine eyes shall beholde, and none other for me, though my reynes are consumed within me.
19:28But yee sayde, Why is hee persecuted? And there was a deepe matter in me.
19:29Be ye afraide of the sworde: for the sworde will be auenged of wickednesse, that yee may knowe that there is a iudgement.

19:4yf I go wronge, I go wronge to my selfe.
19:5But yf ye will enhaunce your selues agaynst me, and accuse me to be a wycked personne because of the shame that is come vpon me:
19:6knowe this then, that it is God, which hath handled me so violently and hath compased me aboute with his nette.
19:7Yf I complayne of the violence that is done vnto me, I cannot be herde. And yf I crye, there is no sentence geuen with me.
19:8He hath hedged vp my waye, that I cannot passe, and he hath set darcknesse in my pathes.
19:9He hath spoyled me of myne honoure, and taken the crowne awaye fro my head.
19:10He hath destroyed me on euery syde, and I am vndone: My hope hath he taken awaye fro me, as it were a tre pluckt vp by the rote.
19:11His wrath is kyndled agaynst me: he taketh me, as though I were hys enemy.
19:12Hys men of warre came together, which made their waye ouer me, and beseged my dwellynge rounde aboute.
19:13He hath put my brethren farre awaye fro me, and soch as were of myne acquayntance, are become straungers vnto me.
19:14Myne awne kynsfolkes haue forsaken me, and my frendes haue put me out of remembraunce.
19:15The seruauntes and maydens of myne awne house toke me for a straunger: and I am be come as an aleaunt in theyr syght.
19:16I called my seruaunt, and he gaue me no answere, no though I prayed him with my mouth.
19:17Myne awne wyfe myght not abyde my breth, I was fayne to speake fayre for the chyldren of myne awne body.
19:18Yee, the children despysed me: And when I was gone from them, they spake euell vpon me.
19:19All soch as were my most familiers, abhorred me: and they whom I loued best, are turned agaynst me.
19:20My bone hangeth to my skynne and my flesh is awaye, only there is left me the skynne aboute my teth.
19:21Haue pyte vpon me, haue pyte vpon me (O ye my frendes) for the hand of God hath touched me.
19:22Why do ye persecute me as God doth, and are not satisfyed of my flesshe?
19:23O that my wordes were nowe written O that they were put in a boke:
19:24wolde God they were grauen with an yron penne in leade or in stone to continue.
19:25For I am sure, that my redemer lyueth, and that I hall ryse out of the earth in the latter daye:
19:26that I shall be clothed agayne with this skynne, and se God in my flesh.
19:27Yee, I my selfe shall beholde him, not with other, but with these same eyes. My reynes are consumed within me:
19:28dyd not ye saye: why doth he soffer persecucion? Is theyr founde an occasion in me?
19:29But be warre of the swearde, for the swearde wylbe auenged of wyckednesse, and be sure, that there is a iudgement.
