Job - Chapter: 21

>
21:1But Iob answered, and sayd,
21:2Heare diligently my speech, and let this be your consolations.
21:3Suffer me that I may speake, and after that I haue spoken, mocke on.
21:4As for mee, is my complaint to man? and if it were so, why should not my spirit be troubled?
21:5Marke mee, and be astonished, and lay your hand vpon your mouth.
21:6Euen when I remember, I am afraid, and trembling taketh holde on my flesh.
21:7Wherefore doe the wicked liue, become old, yea, are mightie in power?
21:8Their seede is established in their sight with them, and their offspring before their eyes.
21:9Their houses are safe from feare, neither is the rod of God vpon them.
21:10Their bull gendreth and faileth not, their cow calueth, and casteth not her calfe.
21:11They send foorth their little ones like a flocke, and their children dance.
21:12They take the timbrell and harpe, and reioyce at the sound of the organe.
21:13They spend their daies in wealth, and in a moment goe downe to the graue.
21:14Therefore they say vnto God, Depart from vs: for we desire not the knowledge of thy wayes.
21:15What is the Almightie, that wee should serue him? and what profite should we haue, if we pray vnto him?
21:16Loe, their good is not in their hand, the counsell of the wicked is farre from me.
21:17How oft is the candle of the wicked put out? and how oft commeth their destruction vpon them? God distributeth sorrowes in his anger.
21:18They are as stubble before the winde, and as chaffe that the storme carieth away.
21:19God layeth vp his iniquitie for his children: he rewardeth him, and he shall know it.
21:20His eyes shall see his destruction, and he shall drinke of the wrath of the Almightie.
21:21For what pleasure hath he in his house after him, when the number of his moneths is cut off in the middest?
21:22Shall any teach God knowledge? seeing he iudgeth those that are high.
21:23One dieth in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet.
21:24His breasts are full of milke, and his bones are moistened with marrow.
21:25And another dieth in the bitternesse of his soule, and neuer eateth with pleasure.
21:26They shall lie downe alike in the dust, and the wormes shall couer them.
21:27Behold, I know your thoughts, and the deuices which yee wrongfully imagine against me.
21:28For ye say, where is the house of the prince? and where are the dwelling places of the wicked?
21:29Haue ye not asked them that goe by the way? and doe ye not know their tokens?
21:30That the wicked is reserued to the day of destruction; they shall bee brought foorth to the day of wrath.
21:31Who shall declare his way to his face? and who shall repay him what he hath done?
21:32Yet shall hee be brought to the graue, & shall remaine in the tombe.
21:33The cloudes of the valley shalbe sweete vnto him, and euery man shall draw after him, as there are innumerable before him.
21:34How then comfort ye me in vaine, seeing in your answeres there remaineth falshood?

21:1Iob aunswered, and saide
21:2O heare diligently my wordes, and that shalbe in steede of your consolations
21:3Suffer me that I may speake, and when I haue spoken mocke on
21:4Is it for mans sake that I make this disputation? Which if it were so, shoulde not my spirite then be in sore trouble
21:5Marke me well and be abashed, and lay your hande vpon your mouth
21:6For when I consider my selfe I am afrayde, and my fleshe is smitten with feare
21:7Wherefore do wicked men liue, come to their olde age, and increase in richesse
21:8Their children lyue in their sight, and their generation before their eyes
21:9Their houses are safe from all feare, and the rod of God is not vpon them
21:10Their bullocke gendreth and that not out of time, their cowe calueth and is not vnfruitfull
21:11They sende foorth their children by flockes, & their sonnes leade the daunce
21:12They beare with them tabrets and harpes, and reioyce in the sounde of the organs
21:13They spend their dayes in wealthines, but sodainely they go downe to the graue
21:14They say also vnto God: Go from vs, we desire not the knowledge of thy wayes
21:15Who is the almightie that we should serue him? And what profite should we haue if we should pray vnto him
21:16Lo, there is vtterly no goodnesse in their hande, therefore wyll I not haue to do with the counsaile of the vngodly
21:17How oft shall the candell of the wicked be put out, and their destruction come vpon them? O what sorowe shall God geue them for their part in his wrath
21:18Yea, they shalbe euen as hay before the winde, and as chaffe that the storme carieth away
21:19God wyll lay vp the sorowe of the father for his children: & when he rewardeth him, he shall know it
21:20Their owne miserie shal they see with their eyes, and drinke of the fearefull wrath of the almightie
21:21For what careth he for his house after his death, when the number of his monethes is cut short
21:22Seeing God hath the highest power of all, who can teache him any knowledge
21:23One dyeth in his full strength, being in all ease and prosperitie
21:24His breastes are full of milke, and his bones runne full of marowe
21:25Another dyeth in the bitternes of his soule, and neuer eateth with pleasure
21:26They shall sleepe both alyke in the earth, and the wormes shall couer them
21:27Beholde, I know what ye thinke, yea and the subtiltie that ye imagine against me
21:28For ye say where is the princes palace? and where is the dwelling of the vngodly
21:29Haue ye not asked them that go by the way? Doubtlesse ye cannot denie their tokens
21:30That the wicked is kept vnto the day of destruction, and the vngodly shalbe brought foorth to the day of wrath
21:31Who dare declare his way to his face? who wil rewarde him for that he doth
21:32Yet shall he be brought to his graue, and dwell among the heape [of the dead.
21:33Then shal the slymie valley be sweet vnto him, all men also must folowe him, as there are innumerable gone before him
21:34Howe vayne then is the comfort that ye geue me, seyng falshood remayneth in all your aunsweres

21:1Bvt Iob answered, and sayd,
21:2Heare diligently my wordes, and this shalbe in stead of your consolations.
21:3Suffer mee, that I may speake, and when I haue spoken, mocke on.
21:4Doe I direct my talke to man? If it were so, how should not my spirit be troubled?
21:5Marke mee, and be abashed, and lay your hand vpon your mouth.
21:6Euen when I remember, I am afrayde, and feare taketh hold on my flesh.
21:7Wherefore do the wicked liue, and waxe olde, and grow in wealth?
21:8Their seede is established in their sight with them, and their generation before their eyes.
21:9Their houses are peaceable without feare, and the rod of God is not vpon them.
21:10Their bullocke gendreth, and fayleth not: their cow calueth, and casteth not her calfe.
21:11They send forth their children like sheepe, and their sonnes dance.
21:12They take the tabret and harpe, and reioyce in the sound of the organs.
21:13They spend their dayes in wealth, and suddenly they go downe to the graue.
21:14They say also vnto God, Depart from vs: for we desire not the knowledge of thy wayes.
21:15Who is the Almightie, that we should serue him? and what profit should we haue, if we should pray vnto him?
21:16Lo, their wealth is not in their hand: therfore let the counsell of the wicked bee farre from me.
21:17How oft shall the candle of the wicked be put out? and their destruction come vpon them? he wil deuide their liues in his wrath.
21:18They shall be as stubble before the winde, and as chaffe that the storme carieth away.
21:19God wil lay vp the sorowe of the father for his children: when he rewardeth him, hee shall knowe it.
21:20His eyes shall see his destruction, and he shall drinke of the wrath of the Almightie.
21:21For what pleasure hath he in his house after him, when the nomber of his moneths is cut off?
21:22Shall any teache God knowledge, who iudgeth the highest things?
21:23One dyeth in his full strength, being in all ease and prosperitie.
21:24His breasts are full of milke, and his bones runne full of marowe.
21:25And another dieth in the bitternes of his soule, and neuer eateth with pleasure.
21:26They shall sleepe both in the dust, and the wormes shall couer them.
21:27Behold, I know your thoughts, and the enterprises, wherewith ye do me wrong.
21:28For ye say, Where is the princes house? and where is the tabernacle of the wickeds dwelling?
21:29May ye not aske the that go by the way? and ye can not deny their signes.
21:30But the wicked is kept vnto the day of destruction, and they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath.
21:31Who shall declare his way to his face? and who shall reward him for that he hath done?
21:32Yet shall he be brought to the graue, and remaine in the heape.
21:33The slimie valley shalbe sweete vnto him, and euery man shall draw after him, as before him there were innumerable.
21:34How then comfort ye me in vaine, seeing in your answeres there remaine but lyes?
