Job - Chapter: 27

>
27:1Also Joob addide, takynge his parable, and seide,
27:2God lyueth, that hath take awey my doom, and Almyyti God, that hath brouyt my soule to bitternesse.
27:3For as long as breeth is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nose thirlis,
27:4my lippis schulen not speke wickidnesse, nether my tunge schal thenke a leesyng.
27:5Fer be it fro me, that Y deme you iust; til Y faile, Y schal not go awei fro myn innocence.
27:6Y schal not forsake my iustifiyng, which Y bigan to holde; for myn herte repreueth me not in al my lijf.
27:7As my wickid enemy doth; myn aduersarie is as wickid.
27:8For what is the hope of an ypocrite, if he rauyschith gredili, and God delyuerith not his soule?
27:9Whether God schal here the cry of hym, whanne angwisch schal come on hym?
27:10ether whether he may delite in Almyyti God, and inwardli clepe God in al tyme?
27:11Y schal teche you bi the hond of God, what thingis Almyyti God hath; and Y schal not hide.
27:12Lo! alle ye knowen, and what speken ye veyn thingis with out cause?
27:13This is the part of a wickid man anentis God, and the eritage of violent men, ether rauenours, whiche thei schulen take of Almyyti God.
27:14If hise children ben multiplied, thei schulen be slayn in swerd; and hise sones sones schulen not be fillid with breed.
27:15Thei, that ben residue of hym, schulen be biried in perischyng; and the widewis of hym schulen not wepe.
27:16If he gaderith togidere siluer as erthe, and makith redi clothis as cley;
27:17sotheli he made redi, but a iust man schal be clothid in tho, and an innocent man schal departe the siluer.
27:18As a mouyte he hath bildid his hous, and as a kepere he made a schadewyng place.
27:19A riche man, whanne he schal die, schal bere no thing with hym; he schal opene hise iyen, and he schal fynde no thing.
27:20Pouert as water schal take hym; and tempeste schal oppresse hym in the nyyt.
27:21Brennynge wynd schal take hym, and schal do awei; and as a whirlewynd it schal rauysche hym fro his place.
27:22He schal sende out turmentis on hym, and schal not spare; he fleynge schal `fle fro his hond.
27:23He schal streyne hise hondis on him, and he schal hisse on hym, and schal biholde his place.

27:1Moreouer Iob proceeded and continued his parable, saying,
27:2The liuing God hath taken away my iudgement: for the Almightie hath put my soule in bitternesse.
27:3Yet so long as my breath is in me, and the Spirit of God in my nostrels,
27:4My lips surely shall speake no wickednesse, and my tongue shall vtter no deceite.
27:5God forbid, that I should iustifie you: vntill I dye, I will neuer take away mine innocencie from my selfe.
27:6I will keepe my righteousnesse, and wil not forsake it: mine heart shall not reprooue me of my dayes.
27:7Mine enemie shall be as the wicked, and he that riseth against me, as the vnrighteous.
27:8For what hope hath the hypocrite when he hath heaped vp riches, if God take away his soule?
27:9Will God heare his cry, when trouble commeth vpon him?
27:10Will he set his delight on the Almightie? will he call vpon God at all times?
27:11I will teache you what is in the hande of God, and I wil not conceale that which is with the Almightie.
27:12Beholde, all ye your selues haue seene it: why then doe you thus vanish in vanitie?
27:13This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of tyrants, which they shall receiue of the Almightie.
27:14If his children be in great nomber, the sworde shall destroy them, and his posteritie shall not be satisfied with bread.
27:15His remnant shall be buried in death, and his widowes shall not weepe.
27:16Though he shoulde heape vp siluer as the dust, and prepare rayment as the clay,
27:17He may prepare it, but the iust shall put it on, and the innocent shall deuide the siluer.
27:18He buildeth his house as the moth, and as a lodge that the watchman maketh.
27:19When the rich man sleepeth, he shall not be gathered to his fathers: they opened their eyes, and he was gone.
27:20Terrours shall take him as waters, and a tempest shall cary him away by night.
27:21The East winde shall take him away, and he shall depart: and it shall hurle him out of his place.
27:22And God shall cast vpon him and not spare, though he would faine flee out of his hand.
27:23Euery man shall clap their hands at him, and hisse at him out of their place.
