Job - Chapter: 34

>
34:1Furthermore Elihu answered, and said,
34:2Heare my wordes, O yee wise men, and giue eare vnto me, ye that haue knowledge.
34:3For the eare trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meate.
34:4Let vs chuse to vs iudgement: let vs know among our selues what is good.
34:5For Iob hath said, I am righteous: and God hath taken away my iudgement.
34:6Should I lye against my right? my wound is incurable without transgression.
34:7What man is like Iob, who drinketh vp scorning like water?
34:8Which goeth in company with the workers of iniquitie, and walketh with wicked men.
34:9For hee hath said, It profiteth a man nothing, that he should delight himselfe with God.
34:10Therefore hearken vnto me, ye men of vnderstanding: farre bee it from God, that he should doe wickednes, and from the Almighty, that hee should commit iniquitie.
34:11For the worke of a man shall he render vnto him, and cause euery man to finde according to his wayes.
34:12Yea surely God will not doe wickedly, neither will the Almighty peruert iudgement.
34:13Who hath giuen him a charge ouer the earth? Or who hath disposed the whole world?
34:14If he set his heart vpon man, if he gather vnto himselfe his spirit and his breath;
34:15All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turne againe vnto dust.
34:16If now thou hast vnderstanding, heare this: hearken to the voyce of my words.
34:17Shall euen he that hateth right, gouerne? and wilt thou condemne him that is most iust?
34:18Is it fit to say to a King, Thou art wicked? and to Princes, Ye are vngodly?
34:19How much lesse to him that accepteth not the persons of Princes, nor regardeth the rich more then the poore? for they all are the woorke of his hands.
34:20In a moment shall they die, and the people shalbe troubled at midnight, and passe away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand.
34:21For his eyes are vpon the wayes of man, and he seeth all his goings.
34:22There is no darkenes, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquitie may hide themselues.
34:23For hee will not lay vpon man more then right; that he should enter into iudgement with God.
34:24He shall breake in pieces mighty men without number, and set others in their stead.
34:25Therefore hee knoweth their workes, and he ouerturneth them in the night, so that they are destroyed.
34:26He striketh them as wicked men, in the open sight of others:
34:27Because they turned backe from him, and would not consider any of his wayes.
34:28So that they cause the cry of the poore to come vnto him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted.
34:29When he giueth quietnesse, who then can make trouble? and when hee hideth his face, who then can beholde him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man onely:
34:30That the hypocrite raigne not, lest the people be ensnared.
34:31Surely it is meete to be said vnto God, I haue borne chastisement, I will not offend any more.
34:32That which I see not, teach thou me; If I haue done iniquitie, I will doe no more.
34:33Should it bee according to thy minde? he will recompense it, whether thou refuse, or whether thou chuse, and not I: therefore speake what thou knowest.
34:34Let men of vnderstanding tell mee, and let a wise man hearken vnto mee.
34:35Iob hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were without wisdome.
34:36My desire is that Iob may bee tried vnto the ende, because of his answeres for wicked men.
34:37For he addeth rebellion vnto his sinne, hee clappeth his handes amongst vs, and multiplieth his words against God.

34:1Elihu proceeding in his aunswere, sayde
34:2Heare my wordes O ye wise men, hearken vnto me ye that haue vnderstanding
34:3For the eare discerneth wordes, and the mouth tasteth the meates
34:4As for iudgement, let vs seke it out among our selues, that we may knowe what is good
34:5And why? Iob hath sayd, I am righteous, and God hath taken away my iudgement
34:6In my right I shoulde be a lyer: my wounde is incurable without my fault
34:7Where is there such a one as Iob, that drinketh vp scornefulnesse like water
34:8Which goeth in the companie of wicked doers, and walketh with vngodly men
34:9For he hath sayde, It profiteth a man nothing that he shoulde walke with God
34:10Therfore hearken vnto me ye that haue vnderstanding: farre be it from God that he shoulde meddle with wickednesse, & farre be it from the almightie that he shoulde meddle with vnrighteous dealing
34:11For he shall rewarde man after his workes, and cause euery man to finde according to his wayes
34:12Sure it is that God wil not do wickedly, neither wyll the almightie paruert iudgement
34:13Who ruleth the earth but he? or who hath placed the whole world
34:14If he set his heart vpon man and gather vnto hym selfe his spirite and his breath
34:15All fleshe shall come to naught at once, and all men shall turne againe vnto dust
34:16If thou nowe haue vnderstanding, heare what I say, and hearken to the voyce of my wordes
34:17May he be a ruler that loueth not right? or may he that is a very innocent man do vngodly
34:18Is it reason that thou shouldest say to the king, Thou art wicked, or thou art vngodly, and that before the princes
34:19God hath no respect vnto the persons of the lordly, and regardeth not the riche more then the poore: for they be al the worke of his handes
34:20In the twinckling of an eye shall they dye, and at midnight when the people and the tirantes rage, then shall they perishe, & be taken away without handes
34:21For his eyes loke vpon the wayes of man, and he seeth all his goinges
34:22There is no darkenesse nor shadowe of death that can hide the wicked doers from him
34:23For God wil not lay vpon man more then he hath sinned, that he should enter into iudgement with him
34:24He shall destroy the mightie without seeking, and shall set other in their steede
34:25Therefore shall he declare their workes: he shall turne the night, and they shalbe destroyed
34:26The vngodly doth he punishe openly
34:27Because they tourned backe from him, and would not consider all his wayes
34:28Insomuch that they haue caused the voyce of the poore to come vnto him, and now he heareth the complaint of such as are in trouble
34:29When he geueth quietnesse, who can make trouble? and when he hydeth his face, who can beholde him? whether it be vpon nations, or vpo one man onely
34:30Because the hypocrite doth raigne, because the people are snared
34:31Surely of God onely it can be saide, I haue pardoned, I wyll not destroy
34:32If I haue gone amisse, enfourme thou me: If I haue done wrong, I wyll leaue of
34:33Wyll he perfourme the thing through thee? for thou hast reproued his iudgement, thou also hast thyne owne minde, and not I: But speake on what thou knowest
34:34Let men of vnderstanding tell me, and let a wyse man hearken vnto me
34:35Iob hath not spoken of knowledge, neither were his wordes according to wysdome
34:36O father, let Iob be well tryed, because he hath aunswered for wicked men
34:37Yea aboue his sinne he doth wickedly, triumpheth among vs, and multiplieth his wordes against God

34:1Moreouer Elihu answered, and saide,
34:2Heare my wordes, ye wise men, and hearken vnto me, ye that haue knowledge.
34:3For the eare tryeth the words, as the mouth tasteth meate.
34:4Let vs seeke iudgement among vs, and let vs knowe among our selues what is good.
34:5For Iob hath saide, I am righteous, and God hath taken away my iudgement.
34:6Should I lye in my right? my wound of the arrowe is grieuous without my sinne.
34:7What man is like Iob, that drinketh scornfulnesse like water?
34:8Which goeth in the companie of them that worke iniquitie, and walketh with wicked men?
34:9For he hath saide, It profiteth a man nothing that he should walke with God.
34:10Therefore hearken vnto me, ye men of wisedome, God forbid that wickednesse should be in God, and iniquitie in the Almightie.
34:11For he will render vnto man according to his worke, and cause euery one to finde according to his way.
34:12And certainely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almightie peruert iudgement.
34:13Whome hath he appointed ouer the earth beside him selfe? or who hath placed the whole worlde?
34:14If he set his heart vpon man, and gather vnto him selfe his spirit and his breath,
34:15All flesh shall perish together, and man shall returne vnto dust.
34:16And if thou hast vnderstanding, heare this and hearken to the voyce of my wordes.
34:17Shal he that hateth iudgement, gouerne? and wilt thou iudge him wicked that is most iust?
34:18Wilt thou say vnto a King, Thou art wicked? or to princes, Ye are vngodly?
34:19How much lesse to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, and regardeth not the rich, more then the poore? for they be all the worke of his handes.
34:20They shall die suddenly, and the people shalbe troubled at midnight, and they shall passe foorth and take away the mightie without hand.
34:21For his eyes are vpon the wayes of man, and he seeth all his goings.
34:22There is no darkenesse nor shadowe of death, that the workers of iniquitie might be hid therein.
34:23For he will not lay on man so much, that he should enter into iudgement with God.
34:24He shall breake the mightie without seeking, and shall set vp other in their stead.
34:25Therefore shall he declare their works: he shall turne the night, and they shalbe destroyed.
34:26He striketh them as wicked men in the places of the seers,
34:27Because they haue turned backe from him, and would not consider all his wayes:
34:28So that they haue caused the voyce of the poore to come vnto him, and he hath heard the cry of the afflicted.
34:29And when he giueth quietnesse, who can make trouble? and when he hideth his face, who can beholde him, whether it be vpon nations, or vpon a man onely?
34:30Because the hypocrite doeth reigne, and because the people are snared.
34:31Surely it appertaineth vnto God to say, I haue pardoned, I will not destroy.
34:32But if I see not, teach thou me: if I haue done wickedly, I will doe no more.
34:33Wil he performe the thing through thee? for thou hast reproued it, because that thou hast chosen, and not I. now speake what thou knowest.
34:34Let men of vnderstanding tell me, and let a wise man hearken vnto me.
34:35Iob hath not spoken of knowledge, neyther were his wordes according to wisedome.
34:36I desire that Iob may be tryed, vnto the ende touching the answeres for wicked men.
34:37For he addeth rebellion vnto his sinne: he clappeth his handes among vs, and multiplieth his wordes against God.
