Job - Chapter: 34

>
34:1And Helyu pronounside, and spak also these thingis,
34:2Wise men, here ye my wordis, and lerned men, herkne ye me; for the eere preueth wordis,
34:3and the throte demeth metis bi taast.
34:4Chese we doom to vs; and se we among vs, what is the betere.
34:5For Job seide, Y am iust, and God hath distried my doom.
34:6For whi lesynge is in demynge me, and myn arowe is violent with out ony synne.
34:7Who is a man, as Joob is, that drynkith scornyng as watir?
34:8that goith with men worchynge wickidnesse, and goith with vnfeithful men?
34:9For he seide, A man schal not plese God, yhe, thouy he renneth with God.
34:10Therfor ye men hertid, `that is, vndurstonde, here ye me; vnpite, `ethir cruelte, be fer fro God, and wickidnesse fro Almyyti God.
34:11For he schal yelde the werk of man to hym; and bi the weies of ech man he schal restore to hym.
34:12For verili God schal not condempne with out cause; nether Almyyti God schal distrie doom.
34:13What othere man hath he ordeyned on the lond? ether whom hath he set on the world, which he made?
34:14If God dressith his herte to hym, he schal drawe to hym silf his spirit and blast.
34:15Ech fleisch schal faile togidere; `and a man schal turne ayen in to aisch.
34:16Therfor if thou hast vndurstondyng, here thou that that is seid, and herkne the vois of my speche.
34:17Whether he that loueth not doom may be maad hool? and hou condempnest thou so myche him, that is iust?
34:18Which seith to the kyng, Thou art apostata; which clepith the duykis vnpitouse, `ethir vnfeithful.
34:19`Which takith not the persoones of princes, nether knew a tyraunt, whanne he stryuede ayens a pore man; for alle men ben the werk of hise hondis.
34:20Thei schulen die sudeynli, and at mydnyyt puplis schulen be troblid, `ethir schulen be bowid, as othere bookis han; and schulen passe, and schulen take `awei `a violent man with out hond.
34:21For the iyen of God ben on the weies of men, and biholdith alle goyngis of hem.
34:22No derknessis ben, and no schadewe of deeth is, that thei, that worchen wickidnesse, be hid there;
34:23for it is `no more in the power of man, that he come to God in to doom.
34:24God schal al to-breke many men and vnnoumbrable; and schal make othere men to stonde for hem.
34:25For he knowith the werkis of hem; therfor he schal brynge yn niyt, and thei schulen be al to-brokun.
34:26He smoot hem, as vnpitouse men, in the place of seinge men.
34:27Whiche yeden awei fro hym bi `castyng afore, and nolden vndurstonde alle hise weies.
34:28That thei schulden make the cry of a nedi man to come to hym, and that he schulde here the vois of pore men.
34:29For whanne he grauntith pees, who is that condempneth? Sithen he hidith his cheer, who is that seeth hym? And on folkis and on alle men `he hath power `to do siche thingis.
34:30Which makith `a man ypocrite to regne, for the synnes of the puple.
34:31Therfor for Y haue spoke to God, also Y schal not forbede thee.
34:32If Y erride, teche thou me; if Y spak wickidnesse, Y schal no more adde.
34:33Whether God axith that wickidnesse of thee, for it displeside thee? For thou hast bigunne to speke, and not Y; that if thou knowist ony thing betere, speke thou.
34:34Men vndurstondynge, speke to me; and a wise man, here me.
34:35Forsothe Joob spak folili, and hise wordis sownen not techyng.
34:36My fadir, be Joob preuede `til to the ende; ceesse thou not fro the man of wickidnesse,
34:37`that addith blasfemye ouer hise synnes. Be he constreyned among vs in the meene tyme; and thanne bi hise wordis stire he God to the doom.

34:1Moreouer Elihu answered, and saide,
34:2Heare my wordes, ye wise men, and hearken vnto me, ye that haue knowledge.
34:3For the eare tryeth the words, as the mouth tasteth meate.
34:4Let vs seeke iudgement among vs, and let vs knowe among our selues what is good.
34:5For Iob hath saide, I am righteous, and God hath taken away my iudgement.
34:6Should I lye in my right? my wound of the arrowe is grieuous without my sinne.
34:7What man is like Iob, that drinketh scornfulnesse like water?
34:8Which goeth in the companie of them that worke iniquitie, and walketh with wicked men?
34:9For he hath saide, It profiteth a man nothing that he should walke with God.
34:10Therefore hearken vnto me, ye men of wisedome, God forbid that wickednesse should be in God, and iniquitie in the Almightie.
34:11For he will render vnto man according to his worke, and cause euery one to finde according to his way.
34:12And certainely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almightie peruert iudgement.
34:13Whome hath he appointed ouer the earth beside him selfe? or who hath placed the whole worlde?
34:14If he set his heart vpon man, and gather vnto him selfe his spirit and his breath,
34:15All flesh shall perish together, and man shall returne vnto dust.
34:16And if thou hast vnderstanding, heare this and hearken to the voyce of my wordes.
34:17Shal he that hateth iudgement, gouerne? and wilt thou iudge him wicked that is most iust?
34:18Wilt thou say vnto a King, Thou art wicked? or to princes, Ye are vngodly?
34:19How much lesse to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, and regardeth not the rich, more then the poore? for they be all the worke of his handes.
34:20They shall die suddenly, and the people shalbe troubled at midnight, and they shall passe foorth and take away the mightie without hand.
34:21For his eyes are vpon the wayes of man, and he seeth all his goings.
34:22There is no darkenesse nor shadowe of death, that the workers of iniquitie might be hid therein.
34:23For he will not lay on man so much, that he should enter into iudgement with God.
34:24He shall breake the mightie without seeking, and shall set vp other in their stead.
34:25Therefore shall he declare their works: he shall turne the night, and they shalbe destroyed.
34:26He striketh them as wicked men in the places of the seers,
34:27Because they haue turned backe from him, and would not consider all his wayes:
34:28So that they haue caused the voyce of the poore to come vnto him, and he hath heard the cry of the afflicted.
34:29And when he giueth quietnesse, who can make trouble? and when he hideth his face, who can beholde him, whether it be vpon nations, or vpon a man onely?
34:30Because the hypocrite doeth reigne, and because the people are snared.
34:31Surely it appertaineth vnto God to say, I haue pardoned, I will not destroy.
34:32But if I see not, teach thou me: if I haue done wickedly, I will doe no more.
34:33Wil he performe the thing through thee? for thou hast reproued it, because that thou hast chosen, and not I. now speake what thou knowest.
34:34Let men of vnderstanding tell me, and let a wise man hearken vnto me.
34:35Iob hath not spoken of knowledge, neyther were his wordes according to wisedome.
34:36I desire that Iob may be tryed, vnto the ende touching the answeres for wicked men.
34:37For he addeth rebellion vnto his sinne: he clappeth his handes among vs, and multiplieth his wordes against God.
