Job - Chapter: 38

>
38:1Then the Lord answered Iob out of the whirlewind, and sayd,
38:2Who is this that darkneth counsell by words without knowledge?
38:3Gird vp nowe thy loines like a man; for I will demaund of thee, and answere thou me.
38:4Where wast thou when I layd the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast vnderstanding.
38:5Who hath layd the measures thereof, if thou knowest? Or who hath stretched the line vpon it?
38:6Wherepuon are the foundations thereof fastened? Or who layd the corner stone thereof?
38:7When the morning starres sang together, and all the sonnes of God shouted for ioy.
38:8Or who shut vp the sea with doores, when it brake foorth as if it had issued out of the wombe?
38:9When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thicke darknesse a swadling band for it,
38:10And brake vp for it my decreed place, and set barres and doores,
38:11And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and heere shall thy proud waues be stayed.
38:12Hast thou commaunded the morning since thy daies? And caused the day-spring to know his place,
38:13That it might take hold of the endes of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?
38:14It is turned as clay to the seale, and they stand as a garment.
38:15And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arme shalbe broken.
38:16Hast thou entred into the springs of the sea? Or hast thou walked in the search of the depth?
38:17Haue the gates of death bene opened vnto thee? Or hast thou seene the doores of the shadow of death?
38:18Hast thou perceiued the breadth of the earth? Declare if thou knowest it all.
38:19Where is the way where light dwelleth? And as for darknesse, where is the place thereof?
38:20That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the pathes to the house thereof.
38:21Knowest thou it, because thou wast then borne? Or because the number of thy daies is great?
38:22Hast thou entred into the treasures of the snowe? Or hast thou seene the treasures of the haile,
38:23Which I haue reserued against the time of trouble, against the day of battaile and warre?
38:24By what way is the light parted? Which scattereth the East wind vpon the earth.
38:25Who hath diuided a water-course for the ouerflowing of waters? Or a way for the lightning of thunder,
38:26To cause it to raine on the earth, where no man is: on the wildernesse wherein there is no man?
38:27To satisfie the desolate and waste ground, and to cause the bud of the tender herbe to spring forth.
38:28Hath the raine a father? Or who hath begotten the drops of dew?
38:29Out of whose wombe came the yce? And the hoary frost of heauen, who hath gendred it?
38:30The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deepe is frozen.
38:31Canst thou bind the sweete influences of Pleiades? Or loose the bands of Orion?
38:32Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season, or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sonnes?
38:33Knowest thou the ordinances of heauen? Canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?
38:34Canst thou lift vp thy voice to the cloudes, that abundance of waters may couer thee?
38:35Canst thou send lightnings, that they may goe, and say vnto thee, Here we are?
38:36Who hath put wisedome in the inward parts? Or who hath giuen vnderstanding to the heart?
38:37Who can number the cloudes in wisedome? Or who can stay the bottles of heauen,
38:38When the dust groweeh into hardnesse, and the clods cleaue fast together?
38:39Wilt thou hunt the pray for the lyon? Or fill the appetite of the young lyons,
38:40When they couch in their dennes, and abide in the couert to lie in waite?
38:41Who prouideth for the rauen his foode? when his young ones cry vnto God, they wander for lacke of meate.

38:1Then aunswered the Lorde vnto Iob out of the whirle winde, and saide
38:2What is he that darkeneth his counsaile by wordes without knowledge
38:3Girde vp thy loynes lyke a man: for I wyl question with thee, see thou geue me a direct aunswere
38:4Where wast thou when I layed the foundations of the earth? Tell playnely, if thou hast vnderstanding
38:5Who hath measured it, knowest thou? or who hath spread the lyne vpon it
38:6Whereupon are the foundations set? or who layed the corner stone thereof
38:7Where wast thou when the morning starres praysed me together, and all the children of God reioyced triumphantly
38:8Who shut the sea with doores, when it brake foorth as out of the wombe
38:9When I made the cloudes to be a covering for it, and swadled it with the darke
38:10When I gaue it my commaundement, making doores and barres for it
38:11Saying, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shalt thou laye downe thy proude and hie waues
38:12Hast thou geue the morning his charge since thy dayes, and shewed the day spring his place
38:13That it might take holde of the corners of the earth, and that the vngodly might be shaken out of it
38:14They are fashioned as is the clay with the seale, and all stand vp as a garment
38:15The vngodly shall be disapointed of their light, and the arme of the proude shalbe broken
38:16Camest thou euer into the grounde of the sea, or walkedst in the lowe corners of the deepe
38:17Haue the gates of death ben opened vnto thee? or hast thou seene the doores of the shadowe of death
38:18Hast thou also perceaued how brode the earth is? If thou hast knowledge of all this
38:19Then shewe me the way where light dwelleth, & where is the place of darkenesse
38:20That thou shouldest receaue it in the boundes thereof, and know the pathes to their houses
38:21Knewest thou afore thou wast borne how olde thou shouldest be
38:22Wentest thou euer into the treasures of the snow, or hast thou seene the secrete places of the hayle
38:23Which I haue prepared against the time of trouble, against the time of battaile and warre
38:24By what way is the light parted? and into what land breaketh the east winde
38:25Who deuideth the waters into diuers chanels? or who maketh a way for the lightening and thunder
38:26To cause it to rayne on the earth where no man is, and in the wildernesse where none inhabiteth
38:27To satisfie the desolate and waste grounde, and to cause the budde of the hearbe to spring foorth
38:28Who is the father of the rayne? or who hath begotten the droppes of the deawe
38:29Out of whose wombe came the yce? Who hath gendred the coldnesse of the ayre
38:30That the waters are hidde as with a stone, and lye congealed aboue the deepe
38:31Wylt thou hinder the sweete influences of the seuen starres? or loose the bandes of Orion
38:32Canst thou bring foorth Mazzaroth in their time? canst thou also guide Arctutus with his sonnes
38:33Knowest thou the course of heauen, that thou mayest set vp the ordinaunce thereof vpon the earth
38:34Moreouer, canst thou lift vp thy voyce to the cloudes, that they may powre downe a great rayne vpon thee
38:35Canst thou send the lightninges also, that they may go their way, and be obedient vnto thee, saying, Lo here are we
38:36Who hath put wysdome in the reynes? or who hath geuen the heart vnderstanding
38:37Who numbreth the cloudes in wysdome? who stilleth the vehement waters of the heauen
38:38To cause the earth to grow into hardnesse, & the clots to cleaue fast together
38:39Wylt thou hunt the pray for the lion? or fill the appetite of the lions whelpes
38:40When they couche in their places, and tarie in the couert to lye in wayte
38:41Who prouideth meate for the rauen, when his young ones crye vnto God, and flee about for lacke of meate

38:1Then answered the Lord vnto Iob out of the whirle winde, and said,
38:2Who is this that darkeneth the counsell by wordes without knowledge?
38:3Girde vp nowe thy loynes like a man: I will demande of thee and declare thou vnto me.
38:4Where wast thou when I layd the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast vnderstanding,
38:5Who hath layde the measures thereof, if thou knowest, or who hath stretched the line ouer it:
38:6Whereupon are the foundations thereof set: or who layed the corner stone thereof:
38:7When the starres of the morning praysed me together, and all the children of God reioyced:
38:8Or who hath shut vp the Sea with doores, when it yssued and came foorth as out of the wombe:
38:9When I made the cloudes as a couering thereof, and darkenesse as the swadeling bands thereof:
38:10When I stablished my commandement vpon it, and set barres and doores,
38:11And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no farther, and here shall it stay thy proude waues.
38:12Hast thou commanded the morning since thy dayes? hast thou caused the morning to knowe his place,
38:13That it might take hold of the corners of the earth, and that the wicked might be shaken out of it?
38:14It is turned as clay to facion, and all stand vp as a garment.
38:15And from the wicked their light shall be taken away, and the hie arme shalbe broken.
38:16Hast thou entred into the bottomes of the sea? or hast thou walked to seeke out the depth?
38:17Haue the gates of death bene opened vnto thee? or hast thou seene the gates of the shadowe of death?
38:18Hast thou perceiued the breadth of the earth? tell if thou knowest all this.
38:19Where is the way where light dwelleth? and where is the place of darkenesse,
38:20That thou shouldest receiue it in the boundes thereof, and that thou shouldest knowe the paths to the house thereof?
38:21Knewest thou it, because thou wast then borne, and because the nomber of thy dayes is great?
38:22Hast thou entred into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seene the treasures of ye haile,
38:23Which I haue hid against the time of trouble, against the day of warre and battell?
38:24By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the East winde vpon the earth?
38:25Who hath deuided the spowtes for the raine? or the way for the lightning of ye thunders,
38:26To cause it to raine on the earth where no man is, and in the wildernes where there is no man?
38:27To fulfil the wilde and waste place, and to cause the bud of the herbe to spring forth?
38:28Who is the father of the rayne? or who hath begotten the droppes of the dewe?
38:29Out of whose wombe came the yee? who hath ingendred the frost of the heauen?
38:30The waters are hid as with a stone: and the face of the depth is frosen.
38:31Canst thou restraine the sweete influences of the Pleiades? or loose the bandes of Orion?
38:32Canst thou bring foorth Mazzaroth in their time? canst thou also guide Arcturus with his sonnes?
38:33Knowest thou the course of heauen, or canst thou set the rule thereof in the earth?
38:34Canst thou lift vp thy voice to the cloudes that the aboundance of water may couer thee?
38:35Canst thou sende the lightenings that they may walke, and say vnto thee, Loe, heere we are?
38:36Who hath put wisedome in the reines? or who hath giuen the heart vnderstanding?
38:37Who can nomber cloudes by wisedome? or who can cause to cease the bottels of heaue,
38:38When the earth groweth into hardnesse, and the clottes are fast together?
