42:1	As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
42:2	My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
42:3	My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?
42:4	When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.
42:5	Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
42:6	O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.
42:7	Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.
42:8	Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.
42:9	I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
42:10	As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God?
42:11	Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.


42:1	למנצח משׂכיל לבני קרח׃ (42:2) כאיל תערג על אפיקי מים כן נפשׁי תערג אליך אלהים׃
42:2	(42:3) צמאה נפשׁי לאלהים לאל חי מתי אבוא ואראה פני אלהים׃
42:3	(42:4) היתה לי דמעתי לחם יומם ולילה באמר אלי כל היום איה אלהיך׃
42:4	(42:5) אלה אזכרה ואשׁפכה עלי נפשׁי כי אעבר בסך אדדם עד בית אלהים בקול רנה ותודה המון חוגג׃
42:5	(42:6) מה תשׁתוחחי נפשׁי ותהמי עלי הוחילי לאלהים כי עוד אודנו ישׁועות פניו׃
42:6	(42:7) אלהי עלי נפשׁי תשׁתוחח על כן אזכרך מארץ ירדן וחרמונים מהר מצער׃
42:7	(42:8) תהום אל תהום קורא לקול צנוריך כל משׁבריך וגליך עלי עברו׃
42:8	(42:9) יומם יצוה יהוה חסדו ובלילה שׁירה עמי תפלה לאל חיי׃
42:9	(42:10) אומרה לאל סלעי למה שׁכחתני למה קדר אלך בלחץ אויב׃
42:10	(42:11) ברצח בעצמותי חרפוני צוררי באמרם אלי כל היום איה אלהיך׃
42:11	(42:12) מה תשׁתוחחי נפשׁי ומה תהמי עלי הוחילי לאלהים כי עוד אודנו ישׁועת פני ואלהי׃


42:1	To the Overseer. -- An Instruction. By sons of Korah. As a hart doth pant for streams of water, So my soul panteth toward Thee, O God.
42:2	My soul thirsted for God, for the living God, When do I enter and see the face of God?
42:3	My tear hath been to me bread day and night, In their saying unto me all the day, `Where `is' thy God?'
42:4	These I remember, and pour out my soul in me, For I pass over into the booth, I go softly with them unto the house of God, With the voice of singing and confession, The multitude keeping feast!
42:5	What! bowest thou thyself, O my soul? Yea, art thou troubled within me? Wait for God, for still I confess Him: The salvation of my countenance -- My God!
42:6	In me doth my soul bow itself, Therefore I remember Thee from the land of Jordan, And of the Hermons, from the hill Mizar.
42:7	Deep unto deep is calling At the noise of Thy water-spouts, All Thy breakers and Thy billows passed over me.
42:8	By day Jehovah commandeth His kindness, And by night a song `is' with me, A prayer to the God of my life.
42:9	I say to God my rock, `Why hast Thou forgotten me? Why go I mourning in the oppression of an enemy?
42:10	With a sword in my bones Have mine adversaries reproached me, In their saying unto me all the day, `Where `is' thy God?'
42:11	What! bowest thou thyself, O my soul? And what! art thou troubled within me? Wait for God, for still I confess Him, The salvation of my countenance, and my God!
