Psalms - Chapter: 49


49:1	[To the chiefe Musician, a Psalme for the sonnes of Korah.] Heare this, all yee people, giue eare all yee inhabitants of the world:
49:2	Both low, and high, rich and poore together.
49:3	My mouth shall speake of wisedome: and the meditation of my heart shalbe of vnderstanding.
49:4	I will incline mine eare to a parable; I will open my darke saying vpon the harpe.
49:5	Wherefore should I feare in the daies of euill, when the iniquitie of my heeles shall compasse me about?
49:6	They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselues in the multitude of their riches:
49:7	None of them can by any meanes redeeme his brother, nor giue to God a ransome for him:
49:8	(For the redemption of their soule is precious, and it ceaseth for euer.)
49:9	That he should still liue for euer, and not see corruption.
49:10	For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the foole, and the brutish person perish, and leaue their wealth to others.
49:11	Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for euer, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their owne names.
49:12	Neuerthelesse man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beastes that perish.
49:13	This their way is their follie; yet their posteritie approue their sayings. Selah.
49:14	Like sheepe they are layd in the graue, death shall feede on them; and the vpright shall haue dominion ouer them in the morning, and their beauty shall consume in the graue, from their dwelling.
49:15	But God will redeeme my soule from the power of the graue; for he shall receiue me. Selah.
49:16	Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased.
49:17	For when he dieth, he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.
49:18	Though whiles he liued, he blessed his soule: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thy selfe.
49:19	Hee shall goe to the generation of his fathers, they shall neuer see light.
49:20	Man that is in honour and vnderstandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.

49:2	As well lowe as high: riche and poore, one with another
49:3	My mouth shall vtter wisdome: the cogitations of myne heart wyll bryng foorth knowledge
49:4	I wyll encline myne eare to a parable: I wyll open my darke sentence vpon a harpe
49:5	Wherfore shoulde I feare in euyll dayes? the wickednesse of my heeles then would compasse me round about
49:6	There be some that put their trust in their goodes: and boast them selues in the multitude of their riches
49:7	But no man at all can redeeme his brother: nor geue a raunsome vnto God for hym
49:8	(49:8a) For the redemption of their soule is very costly, and must be let alone for euer
49:9	(49:8b) yea though he lyue long and see not the graue
49:10	(49:9) For he seeth that wyse men dye: and that the foole and ignoraunt perishe together, and leaue their riches for other
49:11	(49:10) And yet they thynke that their houses shall continue for euer, and that their dwellyng places shall endure from one generation to another: therfore they call landes after their owne names
49:12	(49:11) Neuerthelesse, man can not abyde in such honour: he is but lyke vnto bruite beastes that perishe
49:13	(49:12) This their way is their foolishnesse: yet their posteritie prayse their saying. Selah
49:14	(49:13) They shalbe put into a graue dead as a sheepe, death shall feede on them: but the ryghteous shall haue dominion of them in the mornyng, their beautie shall consume away, hell shall receaue them from their house
49:15	(49:14) But God wyll delyuer my soule from the place of hell: for he wyll receaue me. Selah
49:16	(49:15) Be not thou afrayde though one be made riche: or yf the glorie of his house be encreased
49:17	(49:16) For he shall cary nothyng away with hym when he dyeth: neither shall his pompe folowe after hym
49:18	(49:17) For whyle he lyued he counted him selfe an happy man: and so long as thou doest well vnto thy selfe, men wyll speake good of thee
49:19	(49:18) But he shal folowe the generations of his fathers: and shall neuer see lyght
49:20	(49:19) A man is in an honourable state, but he wyll not vnderstande it: he is lyke herein vnto bruite beastes that perishe


49:1	To him that excelleth. A Psalme committed to the sonnes of Korah. Heare this, all ye people: giue eare, all ye that dwell in the world,
49:2	As well lowe as hie, both rich and poore.
49:3	My mouth shall speake of wisdome, and the meditation of mine heart is of knowledge.
49:4	I will incline mine eare to a parable, and vtter my graue matter vpon the harpe.
49:5	Wherefore should I feare in the euil dayes, when iniquitie shall compasse me about, as at mine heeles?
49:6	They trust in their goods, and boast them selues in the multitude of their riches.
49:7	Yet a man can by no meanes redeeme his brother: he can not giue his raunsome to God,
49:8	(So precious is the redemption of their soules, and the continuance for euer)
49:9	That he may liue still for euer, and not see the graue.
49:10	For he seeth that wise men die, and also that the ignorant and foolish perish, and leaue their riches for others.
49:11	Yet they thinke, their houses, and their habitations shall continue for euer, euen from generation to generation, and call their lands by their names.
49:12	But man shall not continue in honour: he is like the beastes that die.
49:13	This their way vttereth their foolishnes: yet their posteritie delite in their talke. Selah.
49:14	Like sheepe they lie in graue: death deuoureth them, and the righteous shall haue domination ouer them in the morning: for their beautie shall consume, when they shall goe from their house to graue.
49:15	But God shall deliuer my soule from the power of the graue: for he will receiue me. Selah.
49:16	Be not thou afrayd when one is made rich, and when the glory of his house is increased.
49:17	For he shall take nothing away when he dieth, neither shall his pompe descende after him.
49:18	For while he liued, he reioyced himselfe: and men will prayse thee, when thou makest much of thy selfe.
49:19	He shall enter into the generation of his fathers, and they shall not liue for euer.
49:20	Man is in honour, and vnderstandeth not: he is like to beasts that perish.
