Psalms - Chapter: 88

>
88:1O LORD God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before thee:
88:2Let my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry;
88:3For my soul is full of troubles: and my life draweth nigh unto the grave.
88:4I am counted with them that go down into the pit: I am as a man that hath no strength:
88:5Free among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, whom thou rememberest no more: and they are cut off from thy hand.
88:6Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, in darkness, in the deeps.
88:7Thy wrath lieth hard upon me, and thou hast afflicted me with all thy waves. Selah.
88:8Thou hast put away mine acquaintance far from me; thou hast made me an abomination unto them: I am shut up, and I cannot come forth.
88:9Mine eye mourneth by reason of affliction: LORD, I have called daily upon thee, I have stretched out my hands unto thee.
88:10Wilt thou shew wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise and praise thee? Selah.
88:11Shall thy lovingkindness be declared in the grave? or thy faithfulness in destruction?
88:12Shall thy wonders be known in the dark? and thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?
88:13But unto thee have I cried, O LORD; and in the morning shall my prayer prevent thee.
88:14LORD, why castest thou off my soul? why hidest thou thy face from me?
88:15I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up: while I suffer thy terrors I am distracted.
88:16Thy fierce wrath goeth over me; thy terrors have cut me off.
88:17They came round about me daily like water; they compassed me about together.
88:18Lover and friend hast thou put far from me, and mine acquaintance into darkness.

88:1A song and Psalme of the sonnes of Corah, to the chaunter vpon Mahelath, to geue thankes: an instruccion of Heman the Ezrahyte. O lorde God of my saluacion, I haue cryed daye and nyght before the: Oh let my prayer entre into thy presence, encline thyne eare vnto my callynge.
88:2For my soule is full of trouble, and my lyfe draweth nye vnto hell.
88:3I am counted as one of them that go downe vnto the pytte, and I haue bene euen as a man that hath no strength.
88:4Fre amonge the deed, lyke vnto them that be wounded lye in the graue, whych be out of remebraunce, and are cut awaye from thy hande:
88:5Thou hast layed me in the lowest pytt, in a place of darcknesse and in the depe.
88:6Thyne indignacyon lyeth harde vpon me, and thou hast vexed me wyth all thy stormes. Selah.
88:7Thou hast put awaye myne acquaintaunce farre fro me, and made me to be abhorred of them:
88:8I am so fast in preson, that I can not get forth.
88:9My syght fayleth for very trouble: Lorde I haue called dayly vpon the, I haue stretched out myne handes vnto the.
88:10Doest thou shewe wonders amonge the deed? Or shall the deed ryse vp agayne, and prayse the?
88:11Shall thy louynge kyndnes be shewed in the graue, or thy faythfulnesse in destruccion?
88:12Shall thy wonderous workes be knowen in the darcke, and thy ryghtuousnes in the lande where all thynges are forgotten?
88:13Unto the haue I cryed O Lorde, and early shall my prayer come before the.
88:14Lorde, why abhorrest thou my soule? and hydest thou thy face fro me?
88:15I am in mysery, & lyke vnto hym that is at the poynt to dye (euen fro my youth vp) thy terrours haue I suffred with a troubled mynde.
88:16Thy wrathfull dyspleasure goeth ouer me, and the feare of the hath vndone me.
88:17They came rounde about me daylye lyke water, and compassed me together on euery syde.
88:18My louers and frendes hast thou put awaye fro me, and hyd myne acquayntaunce out of my syght.
