Psalms - Chapter: 102

>
102:1Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee.
102:2Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.
102:3For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth.
102:4My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.
102:5By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.
102:6I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert.
102:7I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.
102:8Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are mad against me are sworn against me.
102:9For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping,
102:10Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down.
102:11My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass.
102:12But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations.
102:13Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.
102:14For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof.
102:15So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.
102:16When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.
102:17He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.
102:18This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.
102:19For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth;
102:20To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;
102:21To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;
102:22When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.
102:23He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days.
102:24I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations.
102:25Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.
102:26They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:
102:27But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.
102:28The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee.

102:1A Prayer of the afflicted when he is feeble, and before Jehovah poureth out his plaint. O Jehovah, hear my prayer, yea, my cry to Thee cometh.
102:2Hide not Thou Thy face from me, In a day of mine adversity, Incline unto me Thine ear, In the day I call, haste, answer me.
102:3For consumed in smoke have been my days, And my bones as a fire-brand have burned.
102:4Smitten as the herb, and withered, is my heart, For I have forgotten to eat my bread.
102:5From the voice of my sighing Hath my bone cleaved to my flesh.
102:6I have been like to a pelican of the wilderness, I have been as an owl of the dry places.
102:7I have watched, and I am As a bird alone on the roof.
102:8All the day mine enemies reproached me, Those mad at me have sworn against me.
102:9Because ashes as bread I have eaten, And my drink with weeping have mingled,
102:10From Thine indignation and Thy wrath, For Thou hast lifted me up, And dost cast me down.
102:11My days as a shadow `are' stretched out, And I -- as the herb I am withered.
102:12And Thou, O Jehovah, to the age abidest, And Thy memorial to all generations.
102:13Thou -- Thou risest -- Thou pitiest Zion, For the time to favour her, For the appointed time hath come.
102:14For Thy servants have been pleased with her stones, And her dust they favour.
102:15And nations fear the name of Jehovah, And all kings of the earth Thine honour,
102:16For Jehovah hath builded Zion, He hath been seen in His honour,
102:17He turned unto the prayer of the destitute, And He hath not despised their prayer.
102:18This is written for a later generation, And the people created do praise Jah.
102:19For He hath looked From the high place of His sanctuary. Jehovah from heaven unto earth looked attentively,
102:20To hear the groan of the prisoner, To loose sons of death,
102:21To declare in Zion the name of Jehovah, And His praise in Jerusalem,
102:22In the peoples being gathered together, And the kingdoms -- to serve Jehovah.
102:23He hath humbled in the way my power, He hath shortened my days.
102:24I say, `My God, take me not up in the midst of my days,' Through all generations `are' Thine years.
102:25Beforetime the earth Thou didst found, And the work of Thy hands `are' the heavens.
102:26They -- They perish, and Thou remainest, And all of them as a garment become old, As clothing Thou changest them, And they are changed.
102:27And Thou `art' the same, and Thine years are not finished.
102:28The sons of Thy servants do continue, And their seed before Thee is established!
