Psalms - Chapter: 107

>
107:1O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
107:2Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
107:3And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.
107:4They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.
107:5Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.
107:6Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.
107:7And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.
107:8Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
107:9For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.
107:10Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;
107:11Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:
107:12Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.
107:13Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.
107:14He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.
107:15Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
107:16For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.
107:17Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.
107:18Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.
107:19Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses.
107:20He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
107:21Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
107:22And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.
107:23They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;
107:24These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.
107:25For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.
107:26They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.
107:27They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit's end.
107:28Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.
107:29He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
107:30Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.
107:31Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
107:32Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.
107:33He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground;
107:34A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.
107:35He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.
107:36And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;
107:37And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.
107:38He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.
107:39Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.
107:40He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.
107:41Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.
107:42The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.
107:43Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.

107:1`Give ye thanks to Jehovah, For good, for to the age `is' His kindness:'
107:2Let the redeemed of Jehovah say, Whom He redeemed from the hand of an adversary.
107:3And from the lands hath gathered them, From east and from west, From north, and from the sea.
107:4They wandered in a wilderness, in a desert by the way, A city of habitation they have not found.
107:5Hungry -- yea -- thirsty, Their soul in them becometh feeble,
107:6And they cry unto Jehovah in their adversity, From their distress He delivereth them,
107:7And causeth them to tread in a right way, To go unto a city of habitation.
107:8They confess to Jehovah His kindness, And His wonders to the sons of men.
107:9For He hath satisfied a longing soul, And a hungry soul hath filled `with' goodness.
107:10Inhabitants of dark places and death-shade, Prisoners of affliction and of iron,
107:11Because they changed the saying of God, And the counsel of the Most High despised.
107:12And He humbleth with labour their heart, They have been feeble, and there is no helper.
107:13And they cry unto Jehovah in their adversity, From their distresses He saveth them.
107:14He bringeth them out from the dark place, And death-shade, And their bands He draweth away.
107:15They confess to Jehovah His kindness, And His wonders to the sons of men.
107:16For He hath broken doors of brass, And bars of iron He hath cut.
107:17Fools, by means of their transgression, And by their iniquities, afflict themselves.
107:18All food doth their soul abominate, And they come nigh unto the gates of death,
107:19And cry unto Jehovah in their adversity, From their distresses He saveth them,
107:20He sendeth His word and healeth them, And delivereth from their destructions.
107:21They confess to Jehovah His kindness, And His wonders to the sons of men,
107:22And they sacrifice sacrifices of thanksgiving, And recount His works with singing.
107:23Those going down `to' the sea in ships, Doing business in many waters,
107:24They have seen the works of Jehovah, And His wonders in the deep.
107:25And He saith, and appointeth a tempest, And it lifteth up its billows,
107:26They go up `to' the heavens, they go down `to' the depths, Their soul in evil is melted.
107:27They reel to and fro, and move as a drunkard, And all their wisdom is swallowed up.
107:28And they cry to Jehovah in their adversity, And from their distresses He bringeth them out.
107:29He establisheth a whirlwind to a calm, And hushed are their billows.
107:30And they rejoice because they are quiet, And He leadeth them to the haven of their desire.
107:31They confess to Jehovah His kindness, And His wonders to the sons of men,
107:32And they exalt Him in the assembly of the people, And in the seat of the elders praise Him.
107:33He maketh rivers become a wilderness, And fountains of waters become dry land.
107:34A fruitful land becometh a barren place, For the wickedness of its inhabitants.
107:35He maketh a wilderness become a pool of water, And a dry land become fountains of waters.
107:36And He causeth the hungry to dwell there, And they prepare a city of habitation.
107:37And they sow fields, and plant vineyards, And they make fruits of increase.
107:38And He blesseth them, and they multiply exceedingly, And their cattle He doth not diminish.
107:39And they are diminished, and bow down, By restraint, evil, and sorrow.
107:40He is pouring contempt upon nobles, And causeth them to wander in vacancy -- no way.
107:41And setteth on high the needy from affliction, And placeth families as a flock.
107:42The upright do see and rejoice, And all perversity hath shut her mouth.
107:43Who `is' wise, and observeth these? They understand the kind acts of Jehovah!
