Proverbs - Chapter: 6

>
6:1My sonne, if thou bee surety for thy friend, it thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger,
6:2Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the wordes of thy mouth.
6:3Doe this now, my sonne, and deliuer thy selfe, when thou art come into the hand of thy friend: goe, humble thy selfe, and make sure thy friend.
6:4Giue not sleepe to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids.
6:5Deliuer thy selfe as a Roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler.
6:6Goe to the Ant, thou sluggard, consider her wayes, and be wise.
6:7Which hauing no guide, ouerseer, or ruler,
6:8Prouideth her meat in the Summer, and gathereth her food in the haruest.
6:9How long wilt thou sleepe, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleepe?
6:10Yet a little sleepe, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleepe.
6:11So shall thy pouertie come as one that trauaileth, and thy want as an armed man.
6:12A naughtie person, a wicked man walketh with a froward mouth.
6:13He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feete, hee teacheth with his fingers.
6:14Frowardnesse is in his heart, he deuiseth mischiefe continually, he soweth discord.
6:15Therefore shall his calamitie come suddenly; suddenly shall hee be broken without remedie.
6:16These sixe things doeth the Lord hate; yea seuen are an abomination vnto him:
6:17A proude looke, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood:
6:18An heart that deuiseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischiefe:
6:19A false witnesse that speaketh lies; and him that soweth discord among brethren.
6:20My sonne, keepe thy fathers commandement, and forsake not the law of thy mother.
6:21Binde them continually vpon thine heart, and tie them about thy necke.
6:22When thou goest, it shall leade thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keepe thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talke with thee.
6:23For the Commandement is a lampe, and the Lawe is light: and reproofes of instruction are the way of life:
6:24To keepe thee from the euill woman, from the flatterie of the tongue of a strange woman.
6:25Lust not after her beautie in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
6:26For by meanes of a whorish woman, a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteresse will hunt for the precious life.
6:27Can a man take fire in his bosome, and his clothes not be burnt?
6:28Can one goe vpon hote coales, and his feete not be burnt?
6:29So he that goeth in to his neighbours wife; whosoeuer toucheth her, shall not be innocent.
6:30Men doe not despise a thiefe, if he steale to satisfie his soule, when hee is hungry:
6:31But if he be found, he shall restore seuenfold, he shall giue all the substance of his house.
6:32But who so committeth adultery with a woman, lacketh vnderstanding: hee that doeth it, destroyeth his owne soule.
6:33A wound and dishonour shall he get, and his reproch shall not be wiped away.
6:34For iealousie is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance.
6:35He will not regard any ransome; neither will hee rest content, though thou giuest many giftes.

6:1My sonne if thou be suretie for thy neyghbour, and hast fastened thyne hande for another man
6:2Thou art bounde with thine owne wordes, and taken with thine owne speach
6:3Therfore my sonne do this, and thou shalt be discharged: When thou art come into thy neyghbours daunger, go thy wayes then soone, humble thy selfe, and with thy frendes intreate [thy creditour.
6:4Let not thyne eyes sleepe, nor thyne eye liddes slumber
6:5Saue thy self as a Doe from the hand of the hunter and as a byrde from the hande of the fouler
6:6Go to the emmet thou sluggarde, consider her wayes, and learne to be wyse
6:7She hath no guyde, nor ouerseer, nor ruler
6:8Yet in the sommer she prouideth her meate, and gathereth her foode together in the haruest
6:9Howe long wylt thou sleepe thou sluggishe man? When wylt thou aryse out of thy sleepe
6:10Yea, sleepe on still a litle, slumber a litle, folde thyne handes together yet a litle that thou mayest sleepe
6:11So shall pouertie come vnto thee as one that trauayleth by the way, and necessitie like a weaponed man
6:12An vngodly person, a wicked man, goeth with a frowarde mouth
6:13He winketh with his eyes, he tokeneth with his feete, he teacheth with his fingers
6:14He is euer imagining mischiefe and frowardnes in his heart, and causeth discorde
6:15Therefore shall his destruction come hastyly vpon hym, sodainly shall he be all to broken, and not be healed
6:16These sixe thinges doth the Lorde hate, and the seuenth he vtterly abhorreth
6:17A proude loke, a lying tongue, handes that shed innocent blood
6:18An heart that goeth about wicked imaginations, feete that be swyft in running to mischiefe
6:19A false witnesse that bringeth vp lyes, and hym that soweth discorde among brethren
6:20My sonne, kepe thy fathers commaundement, and forsake not the lawe of thy mother
6:21Tye them continually in thyne heart, and bynde them about thy necke
6:22That shall leade thee when thou goest, preserue thee when thou art asleepe, and when thou awakest talke with thee
6:23For the commaundement is a lanterne, and the lawe a light: yea chastening and nurture is the way of life
6:24That they may kepe thee from the euyll woman, and from the flattering tongue of the straunge woman
6:25Lust not after her beautie in thyne heart, lest thou be taken with her fayre lokes
6:26By an harlot a man is brought to beg his bread, and a woman wyll hunte for the pretious life of man
6:27May a man take fire in his bosome, and his clothes not be brent
6:28Or can one go vpon hotte coales, and his feete not be brent
6:29Euen so, whosoeuer goeth in to his neyghbours wife and toucheth her, can not be vngiltie
6:30Men do not vtterly despise a thiefe that stealeth to satisfie his soule, when he is hungrie
6:31But if he may be gotten, he restoreth agayne seuen tymes as muche, or els he maketh recompence with all the good of his house
6:32But whoso committeth adultrie with a woman, lacketh vnderstanding: and he that doth it, destroyeth his owne soule
6:33He getteth him selfe a plague and dishonour, and his reproche shall neuer be put out
6:34For the ielousie and wrath of the man wyll not be entreated
6:35No though thou wouldest offer hym great gyftes to make amendes, he wyll not receaue them

6:1My sonne, if thou be surety for thy neighbour, and hast striken hands with the stranger,
6:2Thou art snared with the wordes of thy mouth: thou art euen taken with the woordes of thine owne mouth.
6:3Doe this nowe, my sonne, and deliuer thy selfe: seeing thou art come into the hande of thy neighbour, goe, and humble thy selfe, and sollicite thy friends.
6:4Giue no sleepe to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids.
6:5Deliuer thy selfe as a doe from the hande of the hunter, and as a birde from the hande of the fouler.
6:6Goe to the pismire, O sluggarde: beholde her waies, and be wise.
6:7For shee hauing no guide, gouernour, nor ruler,
6:8Prepareth her meat in the sommer, and gathereth her foode in haruest.
6:9Howe long wilt thou sleepe, O sluggarde? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleepe?
6:10Yet a litle sleepe, a litle slumber, a litle folding of the hands to sleepe.
6:11Therefore thy pouertie commeth as one that trauaileth by the way, and thy necessitie like an armed man.
6:12The vnthriftie man and the wicked man walketh with a froward mouth.
6:13He maketh a signe with his eyes: he signifieth with his feete: he instructeth with his fingers.
6:14Lewde things are in his heart: he imagineth euill at all times, and raiseth vp contentions.
6:15Therefore shall his destruction come speedily: hee shall be destroyed suddenly without recouerie.
6:16These sixe things doeth the Lord hate: yea, his soule abhorreth seuen:
6:17The hautie eyes, a lying tongue, and the hands that shed innocent blood,
6:18An heart that imagineth wicked enterprises, feete that be swift in running to mischiefe,
6:19A false witnesse that speaketh lyes, and him that rayseth vp contentions among brethren.
6:20My sonne, keepe thy fathers commandement, and forsake not thy mothers instruction.
6:21Binde them alway vpon thine heart, and tye them about thy necke.
6:22It shall leade thee, when thou walkest: it shall watch for thee, when thou sleepest, and when thou wakest, it shall talke with thee.
6:23For the commandement is a lanterne, and instruction a light: and corrections for instruction are the way of life,
6:24To keepe thee from the wicked woman, and from ye flatterie of ye tongue of a strange woman.
6:25Desire not her beautie in thine heart, neither let her take thee with her eye lids.
6:26For because of the whorish woman a man is brought to a morsell of bread, and a woman wil hunt for the precious life of a man.
6:27Can a man take fire in his bosome, and his clothes not be burnt?
6:28Or can a man go vpon coales, and his feete not be burnt?
6:29So he that goeth in to his neighbours wife, shall not be innocent, whosoeuer toucheth her.
6:30Men do not despise a thiefe, when he stealeth, to satisfie his soule, because he is hungrie.
6:31But if he be founde, he shall restore seuen folde, or he shall giue all the substance of his house.
6:32But he that committeth adulterie with a woman, he is destitute of vnderstanding: he that doeth it, destroyeth his owne soule.
6:33He shall finde a wounde and dishonour, and his reproch shall neuer be put away.
6:34For ielousie is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance.
6:35He cannot beare the sight of any raunsome: neither will he consent, though thou augment the giftes.
