Proverbs - Chapter: 13

>
13:1A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.
13:2A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.
13:3He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.
13:4The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.
13:5A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame.
13:6Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner.
13:7There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches.
13:8The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke.
13:9The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.
13:10Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.
13:11Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.
13:12Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.
13:13Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.
13:14The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
13:15Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.
13:16Every prudent man dealeth with knowledge: but a fool layeth open his folly.
13:17A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health.
13:18Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.
13:19The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is abomination to fools to depart from evil.
13:20He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
13:21Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed.
13:22A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.
13:23Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment.
13:24He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
13:25The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want.

13:2A man shall eate good things by the fruite of his mouth: but the soule of the trespassers shall suffer violence.
13:3Hee that keepeth his mouth, keepeth his life: but he that openeth his lips, destruction shall be to him.
13:4The sluggard lusteth, but his soule hath nought: but the soule of the diligent shall haue plentie.
13:5A righteous man hateth lying wordes: but the wicked causeth slander and shame.
13:6Righteousnesse preserueth the vpright of life: but wickednes ouerthroweth the sinner.
13:7There is that maketh himselfe riche, and hath nothing, and that maketh himselfe poore, hauing great riches.
13:8A man will giue his riches for the ransome of his life: but the poore cannot heare ye reproch.
13:9The light of the righteous reioyceth: but the candle of the wicked shall be put out.
13:10Onely by pride doeth man make contention: but with the well aduised is wisdome.
13:11The riches of vanitie shall diminish: but he that gathereth with the hand, shall increase them.
13:12The hope that is deferred, is the fainting of the heart: but when the desire commeth, it is as a tree of life.
13:13He that despiseth the worde, hee shall be destroyed: but hee that feareth the commandement he shalbe rewarded.
13:14The instruction of a wise man is as the welspring of life, to turne away from the snares of death.
13:15Good vnderstanding maketh acceptable: but the way of the disobedient is hated.
13:16Euery wise man will worke by knowledge: but a foole will spread abroade folly.
13:17A wicked messenger falleth into euill: but a faithfull ambassadour is preseruation.
13:18Pouertie and shame is to him that refuseth instruction: but hee that regardeth correction, shalbe honoured.
13:19A desire accomplished deliteth ye soule: but it is an abomination to fooles to depart from euil.
13:20He that walketh with the wise, shalbe wise: but a companion of fooles shalbe afflicted.
13:21Affliction followeth sinners: but vnto the righteous God will recompense good.
13:22The good man shall giue inheritance vnto his childrens children: and the riches of the sinner is layde vp for the iust.
13:23Much foode is in the fielde of the poore: but the fielde is destroyed without discretion.
13:24He that spareth his rodde, hateth his sonne: but he that loueth him, chasteneth him betime.
13:25The righteous eateth to the contentation of his minde: but the belly of the wicked shall want.

 

13:1A Wyse sonne wyll herken to hys fathers warnynge, but he that is scornefull, will not heare when he is reproued.
13:2A good man shall enioye the frute of his mouth but he that hath a frowarde mynde, shalbe spoyled.
13:3He that kepeth hys mouth kepeth hys lyfe: but who so openeth hys lyppes to euell, destroyeth hym selfe.
13:4The slogarde wolde fayne haue, & cannot get hys desyre: but the soule of the diligent shall haue plenty.
13:5A ryghteous man abhorreth lyes, but the vngodly shameth both other and hym selfe.
13:6Ryghteousnesse kepeth the innocent in the waye, but vngodlynesse doth ouerthrowe the synner.
13:7Some men are ryche, though they haue nothynge, agayne some men are poore, hauing greate ryches.
13:8With goodes euery man delyuereth his lyfe, and the poore wyll not be reproued:
13:9The lyght of the ryghteous maketh ioyfull, but the candle of the vngodly shalbe put out.
13:10Amonge the proude there is euer stryfe, but amonge those that do all thynges with aduisement, there is wysdome.
13:11Uaynlye gotten goddes are soone spent: but they that be gathered to gether with the hande, shall increace.
13:12Longe taryenge for a thynge that is differred, greueth the herte: but when the desyre commeth: it is a tree of lyfe.
13:13Whoso despyseth anye thinge, shalbe hurt for the same: but he that feareth the commaundement, shall haue the rewarde.
13:14The lawe is a well of lyfe vnto the wyse, that it maye kepe hym from the snares of death:
13:15Good vnderstandinge geueth fauour, but harde is the waye of the despysers.
13:16A wyse man doth all thynges with discrecion, but a foole wyll declare hys foly.
13:17An vngodly messaunger falleth into myschefe, but a faythfull ambassadour is wholsome.
13:18He that thinketh scorne to be refourmed, commeth to pouerte & sname: but whoso regardeth correccion shall come to honoure.
13:19When a desyre is brought to passe, it delyteth the soule: but fooles counte it abhominacyon to departe from euell.
13:20He that goeth in the company of wyse men, shalbe wyse: but whoso is a companyon of fooles, shalbe hurte.
13:21Myschefe foloweth vpon synners, but the ryghteous shall haue a good rewarde.
13:22He that is vertuous, leaueth an enheritaunce vnto hys chylders children and the ryches of the synner is layed vp for the iust.
13:23There is plenteousnesse of fode in the feldes of the poore, but the felde not well ordred is without frute.
13:24He that spareth the rodde, hateth hys sonne: but whoso loueth hym, chastiseth hym by tymes.
13:25The ryghteous eateth, and is satisfyed, but the bely of the vngodly hath neuer ynough,
