Proverbs - Chapter: 22


22:1	A Good name is rather to be chosen then great riches, and louing fauour rather then siluer & golde.
22:2	The rich and poore meet together: the Lord is the maker of them all.
22:3	A prudent man foreseeth the euill, and hideth himselfe: but the simple passe on, and are punished.
22:4	By humilitie and the feare of the Lord, are riches, and honour, and life.
22:5	Thornes and snares are in the way of the froward: he that doeth keepe his soule, shalbe farre from them.
22:6	Traine vp a childe in the way he should goe: and when he is olde, hee will not depart from it.
22:7	The rich ruleth ouer the poore, and the borrower is seruant to the lender.
22:8	Hee that soweth iniquitie, shall reape vanitie: and the rodde of his anger shall faile.
22:9	Hee that hath a bountifull eye, shall bee blessed: for hee giueth of his bread to the poore.
22:10	Cast out the scorner, and contention shall goe out; yea strife, and reproch shall cease.
22:11	He that loueth purenesse of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend.
22:12	The eyes of the Lord preserue knowledge, and he ouerthroweth the words of the transgressour.
22:13	The slothfull man sayth, There is a lyon without, I shall be slaine in the streetes.
22:14	The mouth of strange women is a deepe pit: he that is abhorred of the Lord shall fall therein.
22:15	Foolishnesse is bound in the heart of a child: but the rod of correction shal driue it farre from him.
22:16	Hee that oppresseth the poore to increase his riches, and he that giueth to the rich, shall surely come to want.
22:17	Bow downe thine eare, and heare the words of the wise, and apply thine heart vnto my knowledge.
22:18	For it is a pleasant thing, if thou keepe them within thee; they shall withall be fitted in thy lippes.
22:19	That thy trust may bee in the Lord, I haue made knowen to thee this day, euen to thee.
22:20	Haue not I written to thee excellent things in counsailes and knowledge:
22:21	That I might make thee knowe the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answere the words of trueth to them that send vnto thee?
22:22	Rob not the poore because he is poore, neither oppresse the afflicted in the gate.
22:23	For the Lord will plead their cause, and spoile the soule of those that spoiled them.
22:24	Make no friendship with an angrie man: and with a furious man thou shalt not goe;
22:25	Lest thou learne his wayes, and get a snare to thy soule.
22:26	Be not thou one of them that strike hands, or of them that are sureties for debts.
22:27	If thou hast nothing to pay, why should he take away thy bed from vnder thee?
22:28	Remoue not the ancient land marke, which thy fathers haue set.
22:29	Seest thou a man diligent in his businesse? hee shall stand before kings, he shall not stand before meane men.

22:4	By humilitie and the feare of the Lorde, commeth riches, honour, and life

22:6	Teache a chylde what way he should go: for he shall not leaue it when he is olde
22:7	The ryche ruleth the poore, and the borower is seruaunt to the lender
22:8	He that soweth wickednes, shal reape wickednes: and the rodde of his anger shall fayle
22:9	He that hath a bountifull eye, shalbe blessed: for he geueth of his bread to the poore
22:10	Cast out the scorneful man, and so shal strife go out with hym: yea variaunce and sclaunder shall ceasse
22:11	Who so loueth cleannes of heart, for the grace of his lippes the kyng shalbe his frende
22:12	The eyes of the Lord preserue knowledge: and he ouerthroweth the wordes of the transgressours
22:13	The slouthfull body saith there is a Lion without: I might be slaine in the streate
22:14	The mouth of straunge women is a deepe pit: wherein he falleth that the Lorde is angrye withall
22:15	Foolishnes is bounde in the heart of the chylde: and the rodde of correction shall driue it away
22:16	Who so doth a poore man wrong, to increase his owne riches and geueth vnto the ryche, at the last commeth to pouertie hym selfe
22:17	Bowe downe thyne eare, and heare the wordes of the wise: applie thy mind vnto my doctrine
22:18	For it is a pleasaunt thing if thou kepe them in thyne heart, and order them in thy lippes
22:19	That thou mayest put thy trust in the Lorde, I haue shewed thee this day the thing that thou knowest
22:20	Haue not I warned thee very oft with counsayle and learning
22:21	That I might make thee knowe the trueth, that thou with the veritie mightest aunswere them that sende vnto thee
22:22	Rob not the poore, because he is poore: and oppresse not the simple in iudgement
22:23	For the Lorde him selfe wyll defende their cause, and do violence vnto them that haue vsed violence
22:24	Make no frendship with an angrye wylfull man, and walke not with the furious
22:25	Lest thou learne his wayes, and receaue hurt to thy soule
22:26	Be not thou one of them that binde their hande vpon promise, and are suretie for waightie causes
22:27	For if thou hast nothing to pay, they shall take away thy bed from vnder thee
22:28	Thou shalt not remoue the auncient lande marke, whiche thy fore elders haue set
22:29	Seest thou not that they which be diligent in their businesse stande before kinges, & not among the simple people

22:18	For it shalbe pleasant, if thou keepe them in thy bellie, and if they be directed together in thy lippes.
22:19	That thy confidence may be in the Lord, I haue shewed thee this day: thou therefore take heede.
22:20	Haue not I written vnto thee three times in counsels and knowledge,
22:21	That I might shewe thee the assurance of the wordes of trueth to answere the wordes of trueth to them that sende to thee?
22:22	Robbe not the poore, because hee is poore, neither oppresse the afflicted in iudgement.
22:23	For the Lord will defende their cause, and spoyle the soule of those that spoyle them.
22:24	Make no friendship with an angrie man, neither goe with the furious man,
22:25	Least thou learne his wayes, and receiue destruction to thy soule.
22:26	Be not thou of them that touch the hand, nor among them that are suretie for debts.
22:27	If thou hast nothing to paye, why causest thou that he should take thy bed from vnder thee?
22:28	Thou shalt not remooue the ancient bounds which thy fathers haue made.
22:29	Thou seest that a diligent man in his businesse standeth before Kings, and standeth not before the base sort.
