| 12:1 | Remember now thy Creatour in the dayes of thy youth, while the euil daies come not, nor the yeeres drawe nigh, when thou shalt say, I haue no pleasure in them: |
| 12:2 | While the Sunne, or the light, or the moone, or the starres be not darkened, nor the cloudes returne after the raine: |
| 12:3 | In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bowe themselues, and the grinders cease, because they are fewe, and those that looke out of the windowes be darkened: |
| 12:4 | And the doores shal be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise vp at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musicke shall be brought low. |
| 12:5 | Also when they shalbe afraid of that which is high, and feares shall bee in the way, and the Almond tree shall flourish, and the grashopper shall be a burden, and desire shall faile: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners goe about the streets: |
| 12:6 | Or euer the siluer corde be loosed, or the golden bowle be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountaine, or the wheele broken at the cisterne. |
| 12:7 | Then shall the dust returne to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall returne vnto God who gaue it. |
| 12:8 | Uanitie of vanities (saith the preacher) all is vanitie. |
| 12:9 | And moreouer because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge, yea he gaue good heed, and sought out, and set in order many prouerbes. |
| 12:10 | The preacher sought to finde out acceptable words, and that which was written was vpright, euen wordes of trueth. |
| 12:11 | The wordes of the wise are as goads, and as nailes fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are giuen from one shepheard. |
| 12:12 | And further, by these, my sonne, be admonished: of making many bookes there is no end, and much studie is a wearinesse of the flesh. |
| 12:13 | Let vs heare the conclusion of the whole matter: Feare God, and keepe his commandements, for this is the whole duetie of man. |
| 12:14 | For God shal bring euery worke into iudgement, with euer secret thing, whether it bee good, or whether it bee euill. |

| 12:5 | Also they shalbe afraide of the hie thing, and feare shalbe in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grassehopper shall be a burden, and concupiscence shall be driuen away: for man goeth to the house of his age, and the mourners goe about in the streete. |
| 12:6 | Whiles the siluer coarde is not lengthened, nor the golden ewer broken, nor the pitcher broken at the well, nor the wheele broken at the cisterne: |
| 12:7 | And dust returne to the earth as it was, and the spirit returne to God that gaue it. |
| 12:8 | Vanitie of vanities, saieth the Preacher, all is vanitie. |
| 12:9 | And the more wise the Preacher was, the more he taught the people knowledge, and caused them to heare, and searched foorth, and prepared many parables. |
| 12:10 | The Preacher sought to finde out pleasant wordes, and an vpright writing, euen the wordes of trueth. |
| 12:11 | The wordes of the wise are like goads, and like nailes fastened by the masters of the assemblies, which are giuen by one pastour. |
| 12:12 | And of other things beside these, my sone, take thou heede: for there is none ende in making many bookes, and much reading is a wearines of the flesh. |

| 12:4 | when the kepers of the house shall tremble, & when the stronge men shall bowe them selues: when the myllers stande styll, because they be so fewe, & when the syght of the wyndowes shall waxedymme, |
| 12:5 | when the dores in the stretes shalbe shutt, and when the voyce of the myller shalbe layed downe: when men shall ryse vp at the voyce of the byrde, and when all the daughters of musyke shalbe brought lowe: |
| 12:6 | when men shall feare in hye places, and be afrayed in the stretes: when the Almonde tree shall florishe and be laden with the greshopper, and when all lust shall passe (because man goeth to his longe home, and the mourners go aboute the stretes.) |
| 12:7 | Or euer the syluer lace be taken awaye, and or the golden well be broken. Or the pot be broken at the well, and the whele vpon the cysterne: |
| 12:8 | Then shall the dust be turned agayne vnto earth from whence it came, and the sprete shall returne vnto God, which gaue it. |
| 12:9 | All is but vanite (sayth the Preacher) all is but playne vanyte. |
| 12:10 | The Preacher was yet more wyse, and taught the people knowledge: he gaue good hede, sought out the grounde, and set forth many parables. |
| 12:11 | Hys diligence was to fynde out acceptable wordes, ryght scripture, and the wordes of trueth. |
| 12:12 | For the wordes of the wyse are lyke pryckes and nayles that goo thorow, wherwith the stuffe gathered is holden vp: for they are geuen of one shepherde onely. |
| 12:13 | Therfore beware (my sonne) of that doctrine that is besyde thys: for to make many bokes it is an endles worke: and to loude cryinge weryeth the bodye. |
| 12:14 | Let vs heare the conclusyon of all thynges: Feare God, and kepe hys commaundementes: For that toucheth all men.Ecc |
