| 13:1 | The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the sonne of Amoz did see. |
| 13:2 | Lift yee vp a banner vpon the high mountaine, exalt the voice vnto them, shake the hand, that they may goe into the gates of the nobles. |
| 13:3 | I haue commanded my sanctified ones: I haue also called my mightie ones for mine anger, euen them that reioyce in my highnesse. |
| 13:4 | The noise of a multitude in the mountaines, like as of a great people: a tumultuous noise of the kingdomes of nations gathered together: the Lord of hostes mustereth the hoste of the battell. |
| 13:5 | They come from a farre countrey from the end of heauen, euen the Lord and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land. |
| 13:6 | Howle yee; for the day of the Lord is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty. |
| 13:7 | Therefore shall all hands bee faint, and euery mans heart shall melt. |
| 13:8 | And they shalbe afraid: pangs and sorrowes shall take hold of them, they shalbe in paine as a woman that trauelleth: they shalbe amazed one at another, their faces shalbe as flames. |
| 13:9 | Behold, the day of the Lord commeth, cruell both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate; and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it. |
| 13:10 | For the starres of heauen, and the constellations thereof shall not giue their light: the sunne shalbe darkened in his going forth, and the moone shall not cause her light to shine. |
| 13:11 | And I will punish the world for their euill, and the wicked for their iniquitie; and I will cause the arrogancie of the proud to cease, and will lay low the hautinesse of the terrible. |
| 13:12 | I will make a man more pretious then fine gold; euen a man then the golden wedge of Ophir. |
| 13:13 | Therefore I will shake the heauens, and the earth shall remoue out of her place in the wrath of the Lord of hostes, and in the day of his fierce anger. |
| 13:14 | And it shalbe as the chased Roe, and as a sheepe that no man taketh vp: they shall euery man turne to his owne people, and flee euery one into his owne land. |
| 13:15 | Euery one that is found shall be thrust through: and euery one that is ioyned vnto them, shall fall by the sword. |
| 13:16 | Their children also shalbe dashed to pieces before their eyes, their houses shalbe spoiled, & their wiues rauished. |
| 13:17 | Beholde, I will stirre vp the Medes against them, which shall not regard siluer, and as for gold, they shall not delight in it. |
| 13:18 | Their bowes also shall dash the yong men to pieces, and they shall haue no pitie on the fruit of the wombe; their eye shall not spare children. |
| 13:19 | And Babylon the glory of kingdomes, the beautie of the Chaldees excellencie, shall be as when God ouerthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. |
| 13:20 | It shall neuer be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there, neither shal the shepheards make their fold there. |
| 13:21 | But wilde beastes of the desert shall lye there, and their houses shalbe full of dolefull creatures, and owles shall dwell there, and Satyres shall daunce there. |
| 13:22 | And the wilde beastes of the Ilands shal cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is neere to come, and her dayes shall not be prolonged. |

| 13:8 | And they shalbe afraid: anguish and sorowe shall take them, and they shall haue paine, as a woman that trauaileth: euery one shall be amased at his neighbour, and their faces shalbe like flames of fire. |
| 13:9 | Beholde, the day of the Lord commeth, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger to lay the land wast: and he shall destroy the sinners out of it. |
| 13:10 | For the starres of heauen and the planets thereof shall not giue their light: the sunne shalbe darkened in his going foorth, and the moone shall not cause her light to shine. |
| 13:11 | And I will visite the wickednes vpon the worlde, and their iniquitie vpon the wicked, and I wil cause the arrogancie of the proud to cease, and will cast downe the pride of tyrants. |
| 13:12 | I will make a man more precious then fine golde, euen a man aboue the wedge of golde of Ophir. |
| 13:13 | Therefore I will shake the heauen, and the earth shall remooue out of her place in the wrath of the Lord of hostes, and in the day of his fierce anger. |
| 13:14 | And it shall be as a chased doe, and as a sheepe that no man taketh vp. euery man shall turne to his owne people, and flee eche one to his owne lande. |
| 13:15 | Euery one that is founde, shall be striken through: and whosoeuer ioyneth himselfe, shall fal by the sworde. |
| 13:16 | Their children also shall be broken in pieces before their eyes: their houses shall be spoiled, and their wiues rauished. |
| 13:17 | Beholde, I will stirre vp the Medes against them, which shall not regarde siluer, nor be desirous of golde. |
| 13:18 | With bowes also shall they destroy ye children, and shall haue no compassion vpon the fruit of the wombe, and their eies shall not spare the children. |
| 13:19 | And Babel the glorie of kingdomes, the beautie and pride of the Chaldeans, shall be as the destruction of God in Sodom and Gomorah. |
| 13:20 | It shall not bee inhabited for euer, neither shall it be dwelled in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch his tents there, neither shall the shepheardes make their foldes there. |
| 13:21 | But Ziim shall lodge there, and their houses shall be ful of Ohim: Ostriches shall dwel there, and the Satyrs shall dance there. |
| 13:22 | And Iim shall crie in their palaces, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and the time thereof is readie to come, and the daies thereof shall not be prolonged. |

| 13:3 | I haue sent for my debytes & my gyauntes (sayth the Lord) which shall execute wrath, I wyll call for soch, as triumphe in my glory. |
| 13:4 | There is a noyse of a multytude in the mountaynes, like as of a great people, a russhynge, as though the kyngdomes of the nacions came together. (And the Lord of Hostes, mustreth his armye to bataile.) |
| 13:5 | They come out of a farre countree, from the ende of heauen: Euen the Lord hym selfe wt the ministers of his wrath, to destroye the whole lande. |
| 13:6 | Mourne ye, for the daye of the Lord is at hande, and shall come as a destroyer from the almyghtie. |
| 13:7 | Therfore shall all handes be letten downe, & all mens hertes shal melt awaye, |
| 13:8 | they shall stande in feare, carefulnesse and sorow shall come vpon them, & they shall haue payne, as a woman that trauayleth with childe. One shall be abasshed of another, and their faces shall burne lyke the flamme of fyre. |
| 13:9 | Beholde, the daye of the Lord shall come, terrible, ful of indignacion, furoure & wrath to make the lande waste, & to roote out the synners therof. |
| 13:10 | For the starres & planetes of heauen shal not geue their lyght, the sunne shalbe darkened in the rysynge, and the moone shall not shyne with his lyght. |
| 13:11 | And I wyll punysh the wyckednesse of the worlde, and the synnes of the vngodly, sayeth the Lorde. The hye stomackes of the proude wyll I take awaye, and wyll laye downe the boastynge of tyrauntes. |
| 13:12 | I will make a man dearer then fyne golde, and a man to be more worth then a golden wedge of Ophir. |
| 13:13 | Therfore, I wyll shake the heauen, and the earth shall remoue out of her place: in the wrath of the Lord of hostes, and in the daye of hys fearfull indignacion. |
| 13:14 | And Babylon shalbe as an hunted or chased doo, and as a shepe that no man taketh vp. Euery man shall turne to hys awne people, and flye eche one into his awne lande. |
| 13:15 | Who so is founde alone, shalbe shot thorow: And who so gather together, shalbe destroyed with the swerde. |
| 13:16 | Their chyldren shalbe slayne before their eyes, their houses spoyled, and their wyues rauished. |
| 13:17 | For lo, I shall brynge vp the Medes agaynst them, which shall not regarde siluer, nor be desirous of gold. |
| 13:18 | With bowes shall they destroye the yong chidren, & haue no pytie vpon wemen wyth chylde, & their faces shall not spare the chyldren. |
| 13:19 | And Babylon (that glory of kyngdomes and bewtye of the Caldees honour) shalbe destroyed euen as God destroyed Sodome and Gomorre. |
| 13:20 | It shall not endure for euer, nether shall there be any more dwellyng there, from generacyon to generacyon. The Arabians shall pytch no tentes there, nether shal the shepheardes make their foldes there any more: |
| 13:21 | but fearfull wild beastes shall lye there, & the houses shalbe full of greate Dules. Estriches shall dwel there, & Apes shal daunse there |
| 13:22 | wild cattes shal crye in the palaces, and Dragons shalbe in the pleasaunt houses. And as for Babylons tyme it is at hand, & her dayes shal not be prolonged. |
