Isaiah - Chapter: 19


19:1	The burden of Egypt: Behold, the Lord rideth vpon a swift cloude, and shall come into Egypt, and the idoles of Egypt shalbe moued at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.
19:2	And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight euery one against his brother, and euery one against his neighbour; citie against citie, and kingdome against kingdome.
19:3	And the spirit of Egypt shall faile in the midst thereof, and I will destroy the counsell thereof: and they shall seeke to the idoles, and to the charmers, and to them that haue familiar spirits, and to the wizards.
19:4	And the Egyptians will I giue ouer into the hand of a cruell Lord; and a fierce king shall rule ouer them, saith the Lorde, the Lord of hostes.
19:5	And the waters shall faile from the sea, and the riuer shalbe wasted, and dried vp.
19:6	And they shall turne the riuers farre away, and the brookes of defence shall be emptied and dried vp: the reeds and flagges shall wither.
19:7	The paper reeds by the brookes, by the mouth of the brookes, and euery thing sowen by the brooks shal wither, be driuen away, and be no more.
19:8	The fishers also shall mourne, and all they that cast angle into the brookes shall lament, and they that spread nets vpon the waters shall languish.
19:9	Moreouer they that worke in fine flaxe, and they that weaue net-works shall be confounded.
19:10	And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluces and ponds for fish.
19:11	Surely the princes of Zoan are fooles, the counsell of the wise counsellers of Pharaoh is become brutish: How say ye vnto Pharaoh, I am the sonne of the wise, the sonne of ancient kings?
19:12	Where are they? Where are thy wise men? and let them tell thee now, and let them know, what the Lord of hosts hath purposed vpon Egypt.
19:13	The princes of Zoan are become fooles, the princes of Noph are deceiued, they haue also seduced Egypt, euen they that are the stay of the tribes thereof.
19:14	The Lord hath mingled a peruerse spirit in the midst thereof: and they haue caused Egypt to erre in euery worke thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.
19:15	Neither shall there be any worke for Egypt, which the head or taile, branch or rush may doe.
19:16	In that day shall Egypt bee like vnto women: and it shall be afraid and feare, because of the shaking of the hand of the Lord of hosts, which he shaketh ouer it.
19:17	And the land of Iudah shall bee a terrour vnto Egypt, euery one that maketh mention thereof, shal be afraid in himselfe, because of the counsell of the Lord of hosts, which he hath determined against it.
19:18	In that day shall fiue cities in the land of Egypt speake the language of Canaan, and sweare to the Lord of hostes: one shalbe called the citie of destruction.
19:19	In that day shall there be an Altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the Lord.
19:20	And it shall be for a signe, and for a witnesse vnto the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall crie vnto the Lord, because of the oppressours, and he shal send them a Sauiour and a great One, and he shall deliuer them.
19:21	And the Lord shalbe knowen to Egypt, and the Egyptians shal know the Lord in that day, and shal do sacrifice and oblation, yea they shall vow a vowe vnto the Lord, and performe it.
19:22	And the Lord shall smite Egypt, he shall smite and heale it, and they shall returne euen to the Lord, and he shalbe intreated of them, and shall heale them.
19:23	In that day shall there be a hie way out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serue with the Assyrians.
19:24	In that day shall Israel bee the third with Egypt, and with Assyria, euen a blessing in the midst of the land:
19:25	Whom the Lord of hosts shal blesse, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.

19:2	And I wyll set the Egyptians one agaynst another, so that one brother shall fyght agaynst another, and one neighbour against another, citie against citie, and realme against realme
19:3	The mynde also of Egypt shalbe cleane without counsayle within it selfe, and the deuice that they take wil I destroy: and they shall seke counsayle at idols and at sorcerers, at workers with spirites, and at soothsayers
19:4	And the Egyptians wyll I geue ouer into the hande of a maruaylous cruell lorde, and a mightie kyng shall haue dominion ouer them, saith the Lorde God of hoastes
19:5	The waters of the sea shall fayle, and the riuer shall decrease and be dryed vp
19:6	The waters shalbe drawen out, the riuers of Egypt shalbe emptied & dryed vp, the reedes and flagges shalbe cut downe
19:7	The grasse in the riuer and by the riuers bancke, and all that groweth by the riuer, shall wither away, and be brought to naught
19:8	The fisshers also shall mourne, and all they that cast angle into the water shall make lamentation: and they that lay foorth their net beside the waters shalbe rooted out
19:9	Moreouer, they that worke in flaxe and make fine workes, shalbe confounded, and so shall they that weaue open workes
19:10	For their open workes shal euen be destroyed, and all they that make pondes and slues for fishe shall come to naught
19:11	But you foolishe princes of Zoan, ye wise counsaylers of Pharao, whose wit is turned to foolishnesse, howe say ye vnto Pharao, I am come of wise men and of auncient kinges
19:12	Where are thy wise men? Let them tell thee yf they can, what the Lorde of hoastes hath deuised vpon Egypt
19:13	The princes of Zoan are become fooles, the princes of Noph are deceaued, they haue deceaued Egypt, euen they that were taken for the chiefe stay therof
19:14	In the middest of it hath the Lorde powred the spirite of wickednesse: and they haue deceaued Egypt in euery worke therof, euen as a drunken man staggereth in his vomite
19:15	Neither shall the head or tayle, the braunche or reede, be able to do any worke in Egypt
19:16	In that day shall Egypt be lyke vnto women: It shalbe afrayde and stande in feare at the motion of the hande of the Lorde of hoastes which he shaketh ouer it
19:17	And Egypt shalbe afraide of the lande of Iuda: so that euery one that maketh mention of it shalbe afraide therat, because of the counsayle of the Lorde of hoastes which he deuised for it
19:18	In that day shall fiue cities in the lande of Egypt speake the language of Chanaan, and sweare by the Lorde of hoastes: the citie of desolation shalbe called one of them
19:19	In that day shall the aulter of the Lorde be in the middest of the lande of Egypt, and this title beside it vnto the Lorde
19:20	And it shalbe a token and a witnesse vnto the Lorde of hostes in the lande of Egypt: For they shal crie vnto the Lord because of such as trouble them, and he shall sende them a sauiour and a great man to delyuer them
19:21	And the Lorde shalbe knowen in Egypt, and the Egyptians shall knowe the Lorde in that day, and do sacrifice and oblation: yea they shall vowe a vowe vnto the Lord, and perfourme it
19:22	The Lorde also shall smite Egypt sore, and heale them agayne: and they shalbe conuerted vnto the Lorde, and he shalbe intreated of them, and shall heale them
19:23	In that day shall there be a common way out of Egypt into Assyria, and Assyria shall come into Egypt, & Egypt into Assyria: so that the Egyptians and the Assyrians shall serue the Lorde together
19:24	In that day shal the nation of Israel be the thirde with Egypt and Assyria: and they shalbe blessed in the middest of the lande
19:25	Which lande the Lorde of hoastes hath blessed, saying: blessed is my people of Egypt, Assur also is the worke of my handes, and Israel is mine inheritaunce

19:4	And I will deliuer the Egyptians into the hand of the cruell Lordes, and a mightie King shall rule ouer them, sayth the Lord God of hostes.
19:5	Then the waters of the sea shall faile, and the riuers shall be dryed vp, and wasted.
19:6	And the riuers shall goe farre away: the riuers of defence shalbe emptied and dryed vp: the reedes and flagges shall be cut downe.
19:7	The grasse in the riuer, and at the head of the riuers, and all that groweth by the riuer, shall wither, and be driuen away, and be no more.
19:8	The fishers also shall mourne, and all they that cast angle into the riuer, shall lament, and they that spread their nette vpon the waters, shall be weakened.
19:9	Moreouer, they that worke in flaxe of diuers sortes, shall be confounded, and they that weaue nettes.
19:10	For their nettes shalbe broken, and all they, that make pondes, shalbe heauie in heart.
19:11	Surely the princes of Zoan are fooles: the counsell of the wise counselers of Pharaoh is become foolish: how say ye vnto Pharaoh, I am the sonne of the wise? I am the sonne of the ancient Kings?
19:12	Where are nowe thy wise men, that they may tell thee, or may knowe what the Lord of hostes hath determined against Egypt?
19:13	The princes of Zoan are become fooles: the princes of Noph are deceiued, they haue deceiued Egypt, euen the corners of the tribes thereof.
19:14	The Lord hath mingled among them the spirite of errours: and they haue caused Egypt to erre in euery worke thereof, as a drunken man erreth in his vomite.
19:15	Neither shall there be any worke in Egypt, which the head may doe, nor the tayle, ye branch nor the rush.
19:16	In that day shall Egypt be like vnto women: for it shall be afraide and feare because of the moouing of the hand of the Lord of hostes, which he shaketh ouer it.
19:17	And the land of Iudah shall be a feare vnto Egypt: euery one that maketh mention of it, shalbe afraid thereat, because of ye counsell of the Lord of hostes, which he hath determined vpon it.
19:18	In that day shall fiue cities in the lande of Egypt speake the language of Canaan, and shall sweare by the Lord of hostes. one shall be called the citie of destruction.
19:19	In that day shall the altar of the Lord be in the middes of the land of Egypt, and a pillar by the border thereof vnto the Lord.
19:20	And it shall be for a signe and for a witnes vnto the Lord of hostes in the land of Egypt: for they shall crie vnto the Lord, because of the oppressers, and he shall send them a Sauiour and a great man, and shall deliuer them.
19:21	And the Lord shall be knowen of the Egyptians, and the Egyptians shall knowe the Lord in that day, and doe sacrifice and oblation, and shall vowe vowes vnto the Lord, and performe them.
19:22	So ye Lord shall smite Egypt, he shall smite and heale it: for he shall returne vnto ye Lord, and he shall be intreated of them and shall heale them.
19:23	In that day shall there be a path from Egypt to Asshur, and Asshur shall come into Egypt, and Egypt into Asshur: so the Egyptians shall worship with Asshur.
19:24	In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and Asshur, euen a blessing in the middes of the land.
19:25	For the Lord of hostes shall blesse it, saying, Blessed be my people Egypt and Asshur, the worke of mine hands, and Israel mine inheritance.
