Isaiah - Chapter: 33

>
33:1Woe to thee that spoilest, and thou wast not spoiled; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! when thou shalt cease to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled; and when thou shalt make an end to deal treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.
33:2O LORD, be gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be thou their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.
33:3At the noise of the tumult the people fled; at the lifting up of thyself the nations were scattered.
33:4And your spoil shall be gathered like the gathering of the caterpiller: as the running to and fro of locusts shall he run upon them.
33:5The LORD is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.
33:6And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.
33:7Behold, their valiant ones shall cry without: the ambassadors of peace shall weep bitterly.
33:8The highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth: he hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regardeth no man.
33:9The earth mourneth and languisheth: Lebanon is ashamed and hewn down: Sharon is like a wilderness; and Bashan and Carmel shake off their fruits.
33:10Now will I rise, saith the LORD; now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself.
33:11Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath, as fire, shall devour you.
33:12And the people shall be as the burnings of lime: as thorns cut up shall they be burned in the fire.
33:13Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might.
33:14The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
33:15He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;
33:16He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.
33:17Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off.
33:18Thine heart shall meditate terror. Where is the scribe? where is the receiver? where is he that counted the towers?
33:19Thou shalt not see a fierce people, a people of a deeper speech than thou canst perceive; of a stammering tongue, that thou canst not understand.
33:20Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.
33:21But there the glorious LORD will be unto us a place of broad rivers and streams; wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby.
33:22For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us.
33:23Thy tacklings are loosed; they could not well strengthen their mast, they could not spread the sail: then is the prey of a great spoil divided; the lame take the prey.
33:24And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.

33:1Wo to thee, that robbest; whether and thou schalt not be robbid? and that dispisist, whether and thou schalt not be dispisid? Whanne thou hast endid robbyng, thou schalt be robbid; and whanne thou maad weri ceessist to dispise, thou schalt be dispisid.
33:2Lord, haue thou merci on vs, for we abiden thee; be thou oure arm in the morewtid, and oure helthe in the tyme of tribulacioun.

33:5The Lord is magnefied, for he dwellide an hiy, he fillid Sion with doom and riytfulnesse.
33:6And feith schal be in thi tymes; the ritchessis of helthe is wisdom and kunnynge; the drede of the Lord, thilke is the tresour of hym.
33:7Lo! seeris withoutenforth schulen crye, aungels of pees schulen wepe bittirli.
33:8Weies ben distried, a goere bi the path ceesside; the couenaunt is maad voide, he castide doun citees, he arettide not men.
33:9The lond morenyde, and was sijk; the Liban was schent, and was foul; and Saron is maad as desert, and Basan is schakun, and Carmele.
33:10Now Y schal ryse, seith the Lord, now I schal be enhaunsid, and now I schal be reisid vp.
33:11Ye schulen conseyue heete, ye schulen brynge forth stobil; youre spirit as fier schal deuoure you.
33:12And puplis schulen be as aischis of the brennyng; thornes gaderid togidere schulen be brent in fier.
33:13Ye that ben fer, here what thingis Y haue do; and, ye neiyboris, knowe my strengthe.
33:14Synneris ben al to-brokun in Syon, tremblyng weldide ipocritis; who of you mai dwelle with fier deuowringe? who of you schal dwelle with euerlastinge brennyngis?
33:15He that goith in riytfulnessis, and spekith treuthe; he that castith awei aueryce of fals calenge, and schakith awei his hondis fro al yifte; he that stoppith his eeris, that he heere not blood, and closith his iyen, that he se not yuel.
33:16This man schal dwelle in hiy thingis, the strengthis of stoonys ben the hiynesse of hym; breed is youun to hym, hise watris ben feithful.
33:17Thei schulen se the kyng in his fairnesse; the iyen of hym schulen biholde the londe fro fer.
33:18Eliachym, thin herte schal bithenke drede; where is the lettrid man? Where is he that weieth the wordis of the lawe? where is the techere of litle children?
33:19Thou schalt not se a puple vnwijs, a puple of hiy word, so that thou maist not vndurstonde the fair speking of his tunge, in which puple is no wisdom.
33:20Biholde thou Sion, the citee of youre solempnyte; thin iyen schulen se Jerusalem, a riche citee, a tabernacle that mai not be borun ouer, nether the nailis therof schulen be takun awei withouten ende; and alle the cordis therof schulen not be brokun.
33:21For oneli the worschipful doere oure Lord God is there; the place of floodis is strondis ful large and opyn; the schip of roweris schal not entre bi it, nethir a greet schip schal passe ouer it.
33:22For whi the Lord is oure iuge, the Lord is oure lawe yyuere, the Lord is oure kyng; he schal saue vs.
33:23Thi roopis ben slakid, but tho schulen not auaile; thi mast schal be so, that thou mow not alarge a signe. Thanne the spuylis of many preyes schulen be departid, crokid men schulen rauysche raueyn.
33:24And a neiybore schal seie, Y was not sijk; the puple that dwellith in that Jerusalem, wickidnesse schal be takun awei fro it.

33:1Wo to the that destroiest, when thou waste not destroyed, thou breakest the leage, where as none hath broken it with the: for when thou shalt leaue destroying, thou thy self shalt be destroyed. And when thou ceasest from breakinge the leage, then shall they breake it to the.
33:2O Lorde, haue mercy vpon vs: we haue put our hole trust in the. Be an arme to suche early: and our helth, in the tyme of trouble.
33:3At that confuse noyse, the people fledd, and at thyne exaltinge, the Heythen were scatred.
33:4And the spoyles shalbe gathered (which shalbe youres) as are the gathering of Bruchus. And the multitude going to it, shalbe as locustes runnyng to and fro.
33:5The Lorde is exalted, for it is he that dwelleth an hye: he hath fylled Zion with iudgement and righteousnes.
33:6And a sure stablysshing of thy tymes shalbe strength, health, wisdome & knowledge: and the very feare of the Lorde shalbe the treasure of it.
33:7Beholde, the messengers shall crie without: & the ambassatours of peace shall weape bytterly:
33:8The stretes are wast, ther walketh no man therin: God hath broken the appoyntment, the cyties are cast awaye, & men are nothing regarded
33:9the desolat erth is in heuynes. Libanus is shamed: & hewen downe. Saron is lyke a wyldernes: Basan & Charmel are despoyled of their frutes.
33:10And therfore sayth the Lord: I will vp nowe: now will I be auaunced: now will I be exalted as a mightye God.
33:11Ye shall conceaue stubble, & beare strawe, & youre sprete shalbe the fyer, that it maye consume you,

33:13Now herken to ye that are farre of how I haue done, & considre my power, ye that be at hande.
33:14The sinners at Zion are afrayde, a soden fearfulnes is come vpon the ypocrites. What is he amonge vs, say they, that shall dwell by the consuming fier? which of vs maye abyde that euerlasting heat?
33:15He that ledeth a godly lyfe, say I, & speaketh the trueth. He that abhorreth gaines wonne by violence & disceyte: he that kepeth his hande that he touch no rewarde: which stoppeth his eares, that he heare no councell agenst the innocent bloude: which holdeth downe his eyes, that he se none euell.

33:20There shall Zion be sene the heed citye of oure solempne feastes. There shall thyne eyes se Ierusalem that glorious habitatyon: the tabernacle that neuer shall remoue: whose nayles shall neuer be taken out world wt out ende: whose coardes euerychone shall neuer corrupte:
33:21for the gloryous magestie of the Lorde shall there be present among vs: as a place, where fayre broade ryuers & streames are, thorow the which shall nether galey rowe, ner greate shyppe sayle.
33:22For the Lorde is our iudge, the Lorde is our lawe geuer. The Lorde is our king, and he him selfe shalbe our sauioure.
