39:1	At that time Merodachbaladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah: for he had heard that he had been sick, and was recovered.
39:2	And Hezekiah was glad of them, and shewed them the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.
39:3	Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country unto me, even from Babylon.
39:4	Then said he, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All that is in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them.
39:5	Then said Isaiah to Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD of hosts:
39:6	Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.
39:7	And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.
39:8	Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. He said moreover, For there shall be peace and truth in my days.


39:1	בעת ההוא שׁלח מרדך בלאדן בן בלאדן מלך בבל ספרים ומנחה אל חזקיהו וישׁמע כי חלה ויחזק׃
39:2	וישׂמח עליהם חזקיהו ויראם את בית נכתה את הכסף ואת הזהב ואת הבשׂמים ואת השׁמן הטוב ואת כל בית כליו ואת כל אשׁר נמצא באצרתיו לא היה דבר אשׁר לא הראם חזקיהו בביתו ובכל ממשׁלתו׃
39:3	ויבא ישׁעיהו הנביא אל המלך חזקיהו ויאמר אליו מה אמרו האנשׁים האלה ומאין יבאו אליך ויאמר חזקיהו מארץ רחוקה באו אלי מבבל׃
39:4	ויאמר מה ראו בביתך ויאמר חזקיהו את כל אשׁר בביתי ראו לא היה דבר אשׁר לא הראיתים באוצרתי׃
39:5	ויאמר ישׁעיהו אל חזקיהו שׁמע דבר יהוה צבאות׃
39:6	הנה ימים באים ונשׂא כל אשׁר בביתך ואשׁר אצרו אבתיך עד היום הזה בבל לא יותר דבר אמר יהוה׃
39:7	ומבניך אשׁר יצאו ממך אשׁר תוליד יקחו והיו סריסים בהיכל מלך בבל׃
39:8	ויאמר חזקיהו אל ישׁעיהו טוב דבר יהוה אשׁר דברת ויאמר כי יהיה שׁלום ואמת בימי׃


39:1	At that time hath Merodach-Baladan, son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah, when he heareth that he hath been sick, and is become strong.
39:2	And Hezekiah rejoiceth over them, and sheweth them the house of his spices, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the good ointment, and all the house of his vessels, and all that hath been found in his treasures; there hath not been a thing in his house, and in all his dominion, that Hezekiah hath not shewed them.
39:3	And Isaiah the prophet cometh in unto king Hezekiah, and saith unto him, `What said these men? and whence come they unto thee?' And Hezekiah saith, `From a land afar off they have come unto me -- from Babylon.'
39:4	And he saith, `What saw they in thy house?' and Hezekiah saith, `All that `is' in my house they saw; there hath not been a thing that I have not shewed them among my treasures.'
39:5	And Isaiah saith unto Hezekiah, `Hear a word of Jehovah of Hosts:
39:6	Lo, days are coming, and borne hath been all that `is' in thy house, and that thy fathers have treasured up till this day, to Babylon; there is not left a thing, said Jehovah;
39:7	and of thy sons who come forth from thee, whom thou begettest, they take, and they have been eunuchs in a palace of the king of Babylon.'
39:8	And Hezekiah saith unto Isaiah, `Good `is' the word of Jehovah that thou hast spoken;' and he saith, `Because there is peace and truth in my days.'
