48:2 | For they call themselues of the holy city, and stay themselues vpon the God of Israel, the Lord of hostes is his Name. |
48:3 | I haue declared the former things from the beginning: and they went foorth out of my mouth, and I shewed them, I did them suddenly, and they came to passe. |
48:4 | Because I knew that thou art obstinate, and thy necke is an yron sinew, and thy brow brasse: |
48:5 | I haue euen from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to passe I shewed it thee: lest thou shouldest say, Mine idole hath done them, and my grauen image, and my molten image hath commanded them. |
48:6 | Thou hast heard, see all this, and will not yee declare it? I haue shewed thee new things from this time, euen hidden things, and thou didst not know them. |
48:7 | They are created now, and not from the beginning, euen before the day when thou heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them. |
48:8 | Yea thou heardest not, yea thou knewest not, yea from that time that thine eare was not opened: for I knew that thou wouldest deale very treacherously, and wast called a transgressour from the wombe. |

48:10 | Behold, I haue refined thee, but not with siluer; I haue chosen thee in the fornace of affliction. |
48:11 | For mine owne sake, euen for mine owne sake will I doe it; for how should my Name bee polluted? And I will not giue my glory vnto another. |
48:12 | Hearken vnto me, O Iacob, and Israel my called; I am hee, I am the first, I also am the last. |
48:13 | Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heauens: when I call vnto them, they stand vp together. |
48:14 | All yee assemble your selues and heare: which among them hath declared these things? The Lord hath loued him: hee will doe his pleasure on Babylon, and his arme shall be on the Caldeans. |
48:15 | I, euen I haue spoken, yea I haue called him: I haue brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous. |
48:16 | Come ye neere vnto me; heare ye this; I haue not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I; and now the Lord God and his Spirit hath sent me. |
48:17 | Thus saith the Lord thy redeemer, the holy one of Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest goe. |
48:18 | O that thou haddest hearkened to my commandements! Then had thy peace beene as a riuer, and thy righteousnesse as the waues of the sea. |
48:19 | Thy seede also had beene as the sand, and the ofspring of thy bowels like the grauell thereof: his name should not haue beene cut off, nor destroyed from before me. |
48:20 | Goe yee forth of Babylon: flee yee from the Caldeans, with a voyce of singing, declare yee, tell this, vtter it euen to the end of the earth: say yee; The Lord hath redeemed his seruant Iacob. |

48:2 | For they are named of the holy citie, and are grounded vpon the God of Israel, whose name is the Lorde of hoastes |
48:3 | The thynges that I haue shewed you euer since the begynnyng, haue I not brought them to passe immediatly as they came out of my mouth, and declared them, and they are come |
48:4 | Howbeit I knowe that thou art obstinate, and that thy necke hath an iron sinowe, and that thy browe is of brasse |
48:5 | Neuerthelesse, I haue euer since the begynnyng shewed thee of thynges for to come, and declared them vnto thee or euer they came to passe: that thou shouldest not say, myne idoll hath done it, my carued or molten image hath shewed it |
48:6 | Thou heardest it before, and beholde it is come to passe: And shall not ye your selues shewe foorth or confesse the same? But as for me, I tolde thee before at the begynnyng newe and secrete thynges which thou knewest not of |
48:7 | And some done of olde tyme, wherof thou neuer heardest before they were brought to passe, that thou canst not say, beholde I knewe of them |
48:8 | Moreouer, there be some wherof thou hast neither heard nor knowen, neither haue ben opened vnto thyne eares afore tyme: For I knewe that thou wouldest malitiously offende, therfore haue I called thee a transgressour, euen from thy mothers wombe |
48:9 | Neuerthelesse, for my names sake I wyll withdrawe my wrath, and for my honours sake I will patiently forbeare thee, that I do not roote thee out |
48:10 | Beholde I haue purged thee, yet not as siluer, I haue chosen thee in the fire of affliction |
48:11 | And that only for myne owne sake, yea euen for myne owne sake wyll I do this: or els what dishonour woulde they do to my name? surely I wyll not geue my glorie vnto another |
48:12 | Hearken vnto me O Iacob, and Israel whom I haue called: I am euen he that is, I am the first and the last |

48:14 | Gather you altogether and hearken: Which of yonder gods hath declared this? The Lorde hath a loue vnto him, and he shal perfourme his wyll against Babel, and declare his power against the Chaldees |
48:15 | I my selfe alone, euen I haue tolde you this, I dyd call him and bryng him foorth, and he shall make his iourney prosperous |
48:16 | Come to me and heare this: Haue I spoken any thyng darkly since the begynnyng? From the tyme that this thyng begynneth I am there: Wherefore the Lorde God and his spirite hath sent me |
48:17 | And thus saith the Lorde God thy redeemer, the holy one of Israel: I am the Lorde thy God which teache thee profitable thynges, and leade thee the way that thou shouldest go |

48:22 | As for the vngodly, they haue no peace, saith the Lorde |
48:1 | Hear yee this, O house of Iaakob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come out of the waters of Iudah: which sweare by the Name of the Lord, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousnesse. |
48:2 | For they are called of the holy citie, and staie themselues vpon the God of Israel, whose Name is the Lord of hostes. |
48:3 | I haue declared ye former things of old, and they went out of my mouth, and I shewed them: I did them suddenly, and they came to passe. |
48:4 | Because I knewe, that thou art obstinate, and thy necke is an yron sinew, and thy brow brasse, |
48:5 | Therefore I haue declared it to thee of old: before it came to passe, I shewed it thee, lest thou shouldest say, Mine idole hath done them, and my carued image, and my molten image hath commanded them. |
48:6 | Thou hast heard, behold all this, and wil not yee declare it? I haue shewed thee newe things, euen now, and hid things, which thou knewest not. |
48:7 | They are created now, and not of olde, and euen before this thou heardest them not, lest thou shouldest say, Beholde, I knewe them. |
48:8 | Yet thou heardest them not, neither diddest know them, neither yet was thine eare opened of olde: for I knewe that thou wouldest grieuously transgresse: therefore haue I called thee a transgressour from the wombe. |
48:9 | For my Names sake will I defer my wrath, and for my praise will I refraine it from thee, that I cut thee not off. |
48:10 | Behold, I haue fined thee, but not as siluer: I haue chosen thee in the fornace of affliction. |
48:11 | For mine owne sake, for mine owne sake wil I doe it: for how should my Name be polluted? surely I wil not giue my glory vnto another. |
48:12 | Heare me, O Iaakob and Israel, my called, I am, I am the first, and I am the last. |
48:13 | Surely mine hand hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heaues: when I cal them, they stand vp together. |
48:14 | All you, assemble your selues, and heare: which among them hath declared these thinges? The Lord hath loued him: he wil doe his will in Babel, and his arme shalbe against the Chaldeans. |
48:15 | I, euen I haue spoken it, and I haue called him: I haue brought him, and his way shall prosper. |
48:16 | Come neere vnto me: heare ye this: I haue not spoken it in secret from the beginning: from the time that the thing was, I was there, and now the Lord God and his Spirit hath sent me. |
48:17 | Thus saith the Lord thy redeemer, the Holy one of Israel, I am the Lord thy God, which teach thee to profite, and lead thee by the way, that thou shouldest goe. |
48:18 | Oh that thou haddest hearkened to my commandements! then had thy prosperitie bene as the floude, and thy righteousnesse as the waues of the sea. |
48:19 | Thy seede also had beene as the sande, and the fruite of thy body like the grauell thereof: his name should not haue bene cut off nor destroied before me. |
