Jeremiah - Chapter: 15


15:1	Then said the Lord vnto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my minde could not be toward this people, cast them out of my sight, and let them goe foorth.
15:2	And it shall come to passe if they say vnto thee, Whither shall wee goe foorth? then thou shalt tell them; Thus saith the Lord, Such as are for death to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for the captiuitie, to the captiuitie.
15:3	And I will appoint ouer them foure kindes, saith the Lord, the sword to slay, and the dogs to teare, and the foules of the heauen, and the beasts of the earth to deuoure and destroy.
15:4	And I will cause them to be remoued into all kingdomes of the earth, because of Manasseh the sonne of Hezekiah king of Iudah, for that which hee did in Ierusalem.
15:5	For who shall haue pitie vpon thee, O Ierusalem? or who shall bemoane thee? or who shall goe aside to aske how thou doest?
15:6	Thou hast forsaken me, saith the Lord, thou art gone backward: therefore will I stretch out my hand against thee, and destroy thee, I am wearie with repenting.
15:7	And I will fanne them with a fanne in the gates of the land: I will bereaue them of children, I wil destroy my people, sith they returne not from their waies.
15:8	Their widowes are increased to me aboue the sand of the seas: I haue brought vpon them against the mother of the yongmen, a spoiler at noone day: I haue caused him to fall vpon it suddenly, and terrors vpon the citie.
15:9	She that hath borne seuen, languisheth: she hath giuen vp the ghost: her sunne is gone down while it was yet day: shee hath bene ashamed and confounded, and the residue of them will I deliuer to the sword before their enemies, saith the Lord.
15:10	Woe is mee, my mother, that that thou hast borne me a man of strife, and a man of contention to the whole earth: I haue neither lent on vsurie, nor men haue lent to me on vsurie, yet euery one of them doeth curse me.
15:11	The Lord said, Uerely it shall be well with thy remnant, verely I will cause the enemie to intreat thee well in the time of euill, and in the time of affliction.
15:12	Shall yron breake the Northren yron, and the steele?
15:13	Thy substance and thy treasures will I giue to the spoile without price, and that for all thy sinnes, euen in all thy borders.
15:14	And I will make thee to passe with thine enemies, into a land which thou knowest not: for a fire is kindled in mine anger, which shall burne vpon you.
15:15	O Lord, thou knowest, remember me, and visit me, and reuenge me of my persecutors, take mee not away in thy long suffering: know that for thy sake I haue suffered rebuke.
15:16	Thy wordes were found, and I did eate them, and thy word was vnto mee, the ioy and reioycing of mine heart: for I am called by thy Name, O Lord God of hostes.
15:17	I sate not in the assembly of the mockers, nor reioyced: I sate alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation.
15:18	Why is my paine perpetuall? and my wound incurable which refuseth to be healed? wilt thou be altogether vnto me as a lyar, and as waters that faile?
15:19	Therfore thus saith the Lord; If thou returne, then will I bring thee againe, and thou shalt stand before me: and if thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth: let them returne vnto thee, but returne not thou vnto them.
15:20	And I will make thee vnto this people a fenced brasen wall, and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not preuaile against thee: for I am with thee to saue thee, and to deliuer thee, sayth the Lord.
15:21	And I will deliuer thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeeme thee out of the hand of the terrible.

15:2	And if they say vnto thee, Whither shall we depart? then tell them, Thus saith the Lord, Such as are appointed to death, vnto death: and such as are for the sworde, to the sworde: and such as are for the famine, to the famine: and such as are for the captiuitie, to the captiuitie.
15:3	And I wil appoint ouer them foure kindes, sayth the Lord, the sworde to slay, and the dogs to teare in pieces, and the soules of the heauen, and the beastes of the earth to deuoure, and to destroy.
15:4	I will scatter them also in all kingdomes of the earth, because of Manasseh the sonne of Hezekiah King of Iudah, for that which he did in Ierusalem.
15:5	Who shall then haue pitie vpon thee, O Ierusalem? or who shalbe sorie for thee? or who shall go to pray for thy peace?
15:6	Thou hast forsaken me, sayth the Lord, and gone backward: therefore wil I stretch out mine hand against thee, and destroy thee: for I am weary with repenting.
15:7	And I wil scatter them with the fanne in the gates of the earth I haue wasted, and destroyed my people, yet they would not returne from their wayes.
15:8	Their widdowes are increased by mee aboue the sande of the sea: I haue brought vpon them, and against the assembly of the yong men a destroyer at noone day: I haue caused him to fal vpon them, and the citie suddenly, and speedily.
15:9	Shee that hath borne seuen, hath bene made weake: her heart hath failed: the sunne hath failed her, whiles it was day: she hath bene confounded, and ashamed, and the residue of them will I deliuer vnto the sworde before their enemies, sayth the Lord.
15:10	Wo is mee, my mother, that thou hast borne mee, a contentious man, and a man that striueth with the whole earth I haue neither lent on vsury, nor men haue lent vnto me on vsurie: yet euery one doeth curse me.
15:11	The Lord sayd, Surely thy remnant shall haue wealth: surely I will cause thine enemie to intreate thee in the time of trouble, and in the time of affliction.
15:12	Shall the yron breake the yron, and the brasse that commeth from the North?
15:13	Thy substance and thy treasures wil I giue to be spoyled without gaine, and that for all thy sinnes euen in all thy borders.
15:14	And I wil make thee to go with thine enemies into a land that thou knowest not: for a fire is kindled in mine anger, which shall burne you.
15:15	O Lord, thou knowest, remember me, and visite me, and reuenge me of my persecuters: take mee not away in the continuance of thine anger: know that for thy sake I haue suffered rebuke.
15:16	Thy wordes were founde by me, and I did eate them, and thy worde was vnto me the ioy and reioycing of mine heart: for thy Name is called vpon me, O Lord God of hostes.
15:17	I sate not in the assembly of the mockers, neither did I reioyce, but sate alone because of thy plague: for thou hast filled me with indignation.
15:18	Why is mine heauines continuall? and my plague desperate and cannot be healed? why art thou vnto me as a lyar, and as waters that faile?
15:19	Therefore thus saith the Lord, If thou returne, then wil I bring thee againe, and thou shalt stand before me: and if thou take away the precious from the vile, thou shalt be according to my worde: let them returne vnto thee, but returne not thou vnto them.
15:20	And I will make thee vnto this people a strong brasen wall, and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not preuaile against thee: for I am with thee to saue thee and to deliuer thee, saith ye Lord.
15:21	And I will deliuer thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeeme thee out of the hand of the tyrants.


15:1	Then spake the Lord vnto me: Thoughe Moses & Samuell stode before me, yet haue I no hearte to thys people. Driue them awaye, that they maye go out of my syght.
15:2	And yf they say vnto the. Whyther shall we go? Then tell them: The lord gyueth you thys answere. Some vnto death, some the swearde, some to honger, some into captyuyte.
15:3	For I will bryng foure plages vpon them, sayeth the Lorde. The swearde shall sleye them, the dogges shall teare them in peaces, the foules of the ayre, & beastes of the earth shall eate them vp, and destroye them.
15:4	I wyll scatter them aboute also in all kyngdomes and landes to be plaged because of Manasseh the sonne of Hezekia kynge of Iuda, for the thynges that he dyd in Ierusalem.
15:5	Who shall then haue pyte vpon the, O Ierusalem? Who shall be sory for the? Or who shall make intercession, to optayne peace for the?
15:6	seynge thou goest fro me, & turnest backwarde, sayeth the Lorde? Therfore, I dyd stretch out myne hande agaynst the, to destroye the, & I haue bene sorye for the so longe that I am werye.
15:7	I haue scatred them abrode wt the fanne on ouery syde of the land. I haue wasted my people & destroyed them. Yet they haue had no lust to turne from theyr awne wayes
15:8	I haue made theyr wyddowes mo in nombre, then the sandes of the see. Upon the mothers of their chyldren dyd I brynge a destroyer in the none daye. Sodenly and vnawarres dyd I sende a feare vpon theyr cyties.
15:9	She that hath borne seuen chyldren, hath noone, her herte is full of sorowe. The Sunne doth fayle her in the cleare daye, she is confounded and fayntie for very heuynesse. As for those that remayne, I wyll delyuer them vnto the swearde before theyr enemyes, sayth the Lorde.
15:10	O mother, alas that euer thou dydest beare me, a brawler & rebuker of the whole lande: Thoughe I neuer lente ner receaued vpon vsury, yet all men speake euell vpon me.
15:11	And the Lorde answered me: Uerely thy remnaunte shall haue welthe. Come not I to the, when thou art in trouble: and helpe the, when thyne enemy oppresseth the?
15:12	Doth one yron hurte another or one metall that commeth from the North, another?
15:13	As for thy richesse and treasure, I wyll geue them out into a praye, not for eny money, but because of all thy synnes, that thou hast done in all thy coastes.
15:14	And I wyll brynge the with thyne enemyes into a land, that thou knowest not: for the fyre that is kyndled in my indignacyon, shall burne you vp.
15:15	O Lord, thou knowest: therfore remembre me, & vyset me, delyuer me fro my persecuters. Take me not from this lyfe in the tyme of the longe pacyence, thou knowest, that for thy sake I suffer rebuke.
15:16	When I had founde thy wordes, I dyd eate them vp gredely: they haue made my herte ioyfull & glad. For thy name was called vpon me, O Lorde God of Hostes.
15:17	I dwell not amonge the scorners, nether is my delyte therin: but I dwell only in the feare of thy hand, for thou hast fylled me with bytternes.
15:18	Shall my heuynes endure for euer? Are my plages then so greate, that they maye neuer be healed? Wilt thou be as one that is false & as a water, that falleth, and cannot continue?
15:19	Upon these wordes, thus sayde the Lorde vnto me. If thou wilt turne agayne, I shall sett the in my seruice: and yf thou wilt take out the thynges that is precious from the vile, thou shalt be euen as myne awne mouth. They shall conuerte vnto the, but turne not thou vnto them:
15:20	& so shall I make the a stronge brasen wall agaynst this people. They shall fight agaynst the, but they shall not preuayle. For I my selfe will be wt the, to helpe the, and deliuer the, sayeth the Lorde.
15:21	And I wyll ryd the out of the handes of the wicked, and delyuer the out of the hande of tirauntes.
