Jeremiah - Chapter: 52

>
52:1A son of twenty and one years `is' Zedekiah in his reigning, and eleven years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother `is' Hamutal daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
52:2and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, according to all that Jehoiakim hath done,
52:3for, because of the anger of Jehovah, it hath been in Jerusalem and Judah till He hath cast them from before His face, and Zedekiah doth rebel against the king of Babylon.
52:4And it cometh to pass, in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth of the month, come hath Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon -- he and all his force -- against Jerusalem, and they encamp against it, and build against it a fortification round about;
52:5and the city cometh into siege till the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.
52:6In the fourth month, in the ninth of the month, when the famine is severe in the city, and there hath been no bread for the people of the land,
52:7then is the city broken up, and all the men of war flee, and go forth from the city by night, the way of the gate between the two walls, that `is' by the king's garden -- and the Chaldeans `are' by the city round about -- and they go the way of the plain.
52:8And the forces of the Chaldeans pursue after the king, and overtake Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho, and all his forces have been scattered from him,
52:9and they capture the king, and bring him up unto the king of Babylon to Riblah, in the land of Hamath, and he speaketh with him -- judgments.
52:10And the king of Babylon slaughtereth the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and also all the princes of Judah hath he slaughtered in Riblah;
52:11and the eyes of Zedekiah he hath blinded, and he bindeth him in brazen fetters, and the king of Babylon bringeth him to Babylon, and putteth him in the house of inspection unto the day of his death.
52:12And in the fifth month, in the tenth of the month -- it `is' the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon -- come hath Nebuzar-Adan, chief of the executioners; he hath stood before the king of Babylon in Jerusalem,
52:13and he burneth the house of Jehovah, and the house of the king, and all the houses of Jerusalem, even every great house he hath burned with fire,
52:14and all the walls of Jerusalem round about broken down have all the forces of the Chaldeans that `are' with the chief of the executioners.
52:15And of the poor of the people, and the remnant of the people who are left in the city, and those who are falling away, who have fallen unto the king of Babylon, and the remnant of the multitude, hath Nebuzar-Adan chief of the executioners, removed;
52:16and of the poor of the land hath Nebuzar-Adan, chief of the executioners, left for vine-dressers and for husbandmen.
52:17And the pillars of brass that `are' to the house of Jehovah, and the bases, and the brasen sea that `is' in the house of Jehovah, have the Chaldeans broken, and they bear away all the brass of them to Babylon;
52:18and the pots, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the bowls, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass with which they minister, they have taken away;
52:19and the basins, and the fire-pans, and the bowls, and the pots, and the candlesticks, and the spoons, and the cups, the gold of that which `is' gold, and the silver of that which `is' silver, hath the chief of the executioners taken.
52:20The two pillars, the one sea, and the twelve brazen oxen that `are' beneath the bases, that king Solomon made for the house of Jehovah, there was no weighing of the brass of all these vessels.
52:21As to the pillars, eighteen cubits `is' the height of the one pillar, and a cord of twelve cubits doth compass it, and its thickness `is' four fingers hollow.
52:22And the chapiter upon it `is' of brass, and the height of the one chapiter `is' five cubits, and net-work and pomegranates `are' on the chapiter round about, the whole `is' of brass; and like these have the second pillar, and pomegranates.
52:23And the pomegranates are ninety and six on a side, all the pomegranates `are' a hundred on the net-work round about.
52:24And the chief of the executioners taketh Seraiah the head priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the threshold,
52:25and out of the city he hath taken a certain eunuch, who hath been inspector over the men of war, and seven men of those seeing the king's face, who have been found in the city, and the head scribe of the host, who mustereth the people of the land, and sixty men of the people of the land, who are found in the midst of the city;
52:26and Nebuzar-Adan, chief of the executioners, taketh them, and bringeth them unto the king of Babylon to Riblah,
52:27and the king of Babylon smiteth them, and putteth them to death in Riblah, in the land of Hamath, and he removeth Judah from off its own ground.
52:28This `is' the people whom Nebuchadrezzar hath removed: in the seventh year, of Jews, three thousand and twenty and three;
52:29in the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar -- from Jerusalem, souls, eight hundred thirty and two;
52:30in the three and twentieth year of Nebuchadrezzar, hath Nebuzar-Adan chief of the guard removed of Jewish souls, seven hundred forty and five; all the souls `are' four thousand and six hundred.
52:31And it cometh to pass, in the thirty and seventh year of the removal of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the twenty and fifth of the month, hath Evil-Merodach king of Babylon lifted up, in the year of his reign, the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and bringeth him out from the house of restraint,
52:32and speaketh with him good things, and setteth his throne above the throne of the kings who `are' with him in Babylon,
52:33and he hath changed his prison garments, and he hath eaten bread before him continually, all the days of his life.
52:34And his allowance -- a continual allowance -- hath been given to him by the king of Babylon, the matter of a day in its day, till the day of his death -- all days of his life.

52:1Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
52:2And he did that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.
52:3For through the anger of the LORD it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, till he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
52:4And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it, and built forts against it round about.
52:5So the city was besieged unto the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.
52:6And in the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the famine was sore in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.
52:7Then the city was broken up, and all the men of war fled, and went forth out of the city by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king's garden; (now the Chaldeans were by the city round about:) and they went by the way of the plain.
52:8But the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.
52:9Then they took the king, and carried him up unto the king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath; where he gave judgment upon him.
52:10And the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes: he slew also all the princes of Judah in Riblah.
52:11Then he put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in chains, and carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison till the day of his death.
52:12Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, which served the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem,
52:13And burned the house of the LORD, and the king's house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, and all the houses of the great men, burned he with fire:
52:14And all the army of the Chaldeans, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down all the walls of Jerusalem round about.
52:15Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive certain of the poor of the people, and the residue of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the multitude.
52:16But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left certain of the poor of the land for vinedressers and for husbandmen.
52:17Also the pillars of brass that were in the house of the LORD, and the bases, and the brasen sea that was in the house of the LORD, the Chaldeans brake, and carried all the brass of them to Babylon.
52:18The caldrons also, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the bowls, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered, took they away.
52:19And the basons, and the firepans, and the bowls, and the caldrons, and the candlesticks, and the spoons, and the cups; that which was of gold in gold, and that which was of silver in silver, took the captain of the guard away.
52:20The two pillars, one sea, and twelve brasen bulls that were under the bases, which king Solomon had made in the house of the LORD: the brass of all these vessels was without weight.
52:21And concerning the pillars, the height of one pillar was eighteen cubits; and a fillet of twelve cubits did compass it; and the thickness thereof was four fingers: it was hollow.
52:22And a chapiter of brass was upon it; and the height of one chapiter was five cubits, with network and pomegranates upon the chapiters round about, all of brass. The second pillar also and the pomegranates were like unto these.
52:23And there were ninety and six pomegranates on a side; and all the pomegranates upon the network were an hundred round about.
52:24And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the door:
52:25He took also out of the city an eunuch, which had the charge of the men of war; and seven men of them that were near the king's person, which were found in the city; and the principal scribe of the host, who mustered the people of the land; and threescore men of the people of the land, that were found in the midst of the city.
52:26So Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard took them, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah.
52:27And the king of Babylon smote them, and put them to death in Riblah in the land of Hamath. Thus Judah was carried away captive out of his own land.
52:28This is the people whom Nebuchadrezzar carried away captive: in the seventh year three thousand Jews and three and twenty:
52:29In the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar he carried away captive from Jerusalem eight hundred thirty and two persons:
52:30In the three and twentieth year of Nebuchadrezzar Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the Jews seven hundred forty and five persons: all the persons were four thousand and six hundred.
52:31And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the five and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of Babylon in the first year of his reign lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and brought him forth out of prison,
52:32And spake kindly unto him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in Babylon,
52:33And changed his prison garments: and he did continually eat bread before him all the days of his life.
52:34And for his diet, there was a continual diet given him of the king of Babylon, every day a portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life.

52:1Zedekiah was a son of twenty one years when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And the name of his mother was Hamutal, the daughter of of Libnah.
52:2And he did evil in the eyes of Jehovah, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.
52:3For it was because of the anger of Jehovah in Jerusalem and Judah that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon, until Jehovah had cast them out from His face.
52:4And in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, king Nebu-chadnezzar of Babylon came, he and all his army against Jerusalem, and pitched against it, and built a siege wall against it all around.
52:5And the city came under siege until the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.
52:6And in the fourth month, in the ninth of the month, the famine was severe in the city, so that there was no food for the people of the land.
52:7Then the city was breached, and all the men of war fled, and went out of the city by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king's garden. And the Chaldeans lay all around the city. And they went by the way of the Arabah.
52:8But the army of the Chaldeans pursued the king and overtook Zedekiah in the Arabah of Jericho. And all his army was scattered from him.
52:9And they took the king and carried him up to the king of Babylon, to Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he gave judgments against him.
52:10And the king of Babylon slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes. He also slaughtered all the rulers of Judah in Riblah.
52:11And he blinded the eyes of Zedekiah. And the king of Babylon bound him in bronze fetters and carried him to Babylon. And he put him in prison until the day of his death.
52:12And in the fifth month, in the tenth of the month, which was the nineteenth year of king Nebu-chadnezzar of Babylon, Nebu-zaradan, the chief of the executioners, who stood before the king of Babylon, came into Jerusalem.
52:13And he burned the house of Jehovah and the king's house. And he burned all the houses of Jerusalem with fire, and all the houses of the great ones.
52:14And all the army of the Chaldeans with the chief of the executioners broke down all the walls of Jerusalem all around.
52:15Then Nebu-zaradan, the chief of the executioners, exiled some of the poor of the people, and the rest of the people who remained in the city, and those who fell away, who fell to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the multitude.
52:16But Nebu-zaradan, the chief of the executioners, left some of the poor of the land for vinedressers and for farmers.
52:17Also the Chaldeans broke the pillars of bronze that were in the house of Jehovah, and the bases, and the bronze sea in the house of Jehovah, and carried all the bronze from them to Babylon.
52:18They also took away the pots, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the bowls, and the spoons, and all the vessels of bronze with which they served.
52:19And the chief of the executioners took away the basins, and the fire pans, and the bowls, and the pots, the lampstands, and the spoons, and the cups; what was gold, in gold, and what was silver, in silver,
52:20the two pillars, one sea, and twelve bronze bulls that were under the bases, which king Solomon had made in the house of Jehovah. The weight of the bronze of all these vessels was not known .
52:21And the pillars: the height of one pillar was eighteen cubits, and a line of twelve cubits went around it, and its thickness was four fingers; it was hollow.
52:22And a capital of bronze was on it; and the height of one capital was five cubits, with net-work and pomegranates on the capitals all around, all of bronze. And like these was the second pillar, and the pomegranates.
52:23And there were ninety six pomegranates on a side; all the pomegranates on the net-work were a hundred all around.
52:24And the chief of the executioners took Seraiah the head priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three doorkeepers.
52:25He also took out of the city one eunuch who was in charge of the men of war, and seven men who saw the king's face, who were found in the city, and the commander of the army's scribe who mustered the people of the land, and sixty men of the people of the land who were found in the middle of the city.
52:26And Nebu-zaradan, the chief of the executioners, took them and led them to the king of Babylon, to Riblah.
52:27And the king of Babylon struck them and slaughtered them in Riblah in the land of Hamath. And Judah was exiled from off his land.
52:28This is the people whom Nebu-chadnezzar exiled: In the seventh year, three thousand and twenty three Jews;
52:29in the eighteenth year of Nebu-chadnezzar, eight hundred thirty souls from Jerusalem;
52:30in the twenty third year of Nebu-chadnezzar, Nebu-zaradan, the chief of the executioners, exiled seven hundred forty five souls of the Jews. All the souls were four thousand and six hundred.
52:31And it happened in the thirty seventh year of the exile of Jehoiachin, king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the twenty fifth of the month, Evil-merodach, king of Babylon, in the year of his reign lifted up the head of Jehoiachin, king of Judah, and brought him from the prison house.
52:32And he spoke good to him and set his throne above the throne of the kings who were with him in Babylon.
52:33And he changed his prison garments, and he ate bread before his face continually all the days of his life.
52:34And his allowance in continual allowance was given to him from the king of Babylon, the matter of a day in its day, until the day of his death, all the days of his life.
