Ezekiel - Chapter: 12


12:1	The word of the LORD also came unto me, saying,
12:2	Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house.
12:3	Therefore, thou son of man, prepare thee stuff for removing, and remove by day in their sight; and thou shalt remove from thy place to another place in their sight: it may be they will consider, though they be a rebellious house.
12:4	Then shalt thou bring forth thy stuff by day in their sight, as stuff for removing: and thou shalt go forth at even in their sight, as they that go forth into captivity.
12:5	Dig thou through the wall in their sight, and carry out thereby.
12:6	In their sight shalt thou bear it upon thy shoulders, and carry it forth in the twilight: thou shalt cover thy face, that thou see not the ground: for I have set thee for a sign unto the house of Israel.
12:7	And I did so as I was commanded: I brought forth my stuff by day, as stuff for captivity, and in the even I digged through the wall with mine hand; I brought it forth in the twilight, and I bare it upon my shoulder in their sight.
12:8	And in the morning came the word of the LORD unto me, saying,
12:9	Son of man, hath not the house of Israel, the rebellious house, said unto thee, What doest thou?
12:10	Say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; This burden concerneth the prince in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel that are among them.
12:11	Say, I am your sign: like as I have done, so shall it be done unto them: they shall remove and go into captivity.
12:12	And the prince that is among them shall bear upon his shoulder in the twilight, and shall go forth: they shall dig through the wall to carry out thereby: he shall cover his face, that he see not the ground with his eyes.
12:13	My net also will I spread upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare: and I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans; yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there.
12:14	And I will scatter toward every wind all that are about him to help him, and all his bands; and I will draw out the sword after them.
12:15	And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall scatter them among the nations, and disperse them in the countries.
12:16	But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence; that they may declare all their abominations among the heathen whither they come; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
12:17	Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
12:18	Son of man, eat thy bread with quaking, and drink thy water with trembling and with carefulness;
12:19	And say unto the people of the land, Thus saith the Lord GOD of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and of the land of Israel; They shall eat their bread with carefulness, and drink their water with astonishment, that her land may be desolate from all that is therein, because of the violence of all them that dwell therein.
12:20	And the cities that are inhabited shall be laid waste, and the land shall be desolate; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
12:21	And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
12:22	Son of man, what is that proverb that ye have in the land of Israel, saying, The days are prolonged, and every vision faileth?
12:23	Tell them therefore, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will make this proverb to cease, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel; but say unto them, The days are at hand, and the effect of every vision.
12:24	For there shall be no more any vain vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel.
12:25	For I am the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord GOD.
12:26	Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
12:27	Son of man, behold, they of the house of Israel say, The vision that he seeth is for many days to come, and he prophesieth of the times that are far off.
12:28	Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; There shall none of my words be prolonged any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, saith the Lord GOD.


12:1	ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר׃
12:2	בן אדם בתוך בית המרי אתה ישׁב אשׁר עינים להם לראות ולא ראו אזנים להם לשׁמע ולא שׁמעו כי בית מרי הם׃
12:3	ואתה בן אדם עשׂה לך כלי גולה וגלה יומם לעיניהם וגלית ממקומך אל מקום אחר לעיניהם אולי יראו כי בית מרי המה׃
12:4	והוצאת כליך ככלי גולה יומם לעיניהם ואתה תצא בערב לעיניהם כמוצאי גולה׃
12:5	לעיניהם חתר לך בקיר והוצאת׃
12:6	לעיניהם על כתף תשׂא בעלטה תוציא פניך תכסה ולא תראה את הארץ כי מופת נתתיך לבית ישׂראל׃
12:7	ואעשׂ כן כאשׁר צויתי כלי הוצאתי ככלי גולה יומם ובערב חתרתי לי בקיר ביד בעלטה הוצאתי על כתף נשׂאתי לעיניהם׃
12:8	ויהי דבר יהוה אלי בבקר לאמר׃
12:9	בן אדם הלא אמרו אליך בית ישׂראל בית המרי מה אתה עשׂה׃
12:10	אמר אליהם כה אמר אדני יהוה הנשׂיא המשׂא הזה בירושׁלם וכל בית ישׂראל אשׁר המה בתוכם׃
12:11	אמר אני מופתכם כאשׁר עשׂיתי כן יעשׂה להם בגולה בשׁבי ילכו׃
12:12	והנשׂיא אשׁר בתוכם אל כתף ישׂא בעלטה ויצא בקיר יחתרו להוציא בו פניו יכסה יען אשׁר לא יראה לעין הוא את הארץ׃
12:13	ופרשׂתי את רשׁתי עליו ונתפשׂ במצודתי והבאתי אתו בבלה ארץ כשׂדים ואותה לא יראה ושׁם ימות׃
12:14	וכל אשׁר סביבתיו עזרה וכל אגפיו אזרה לכל רוח וחרב אריק אחריהם׃
12:15	וידעו כי אני יהוה בהפיצי אותם בגוים וזריתי אותם בארצות׃
12:16	והותרתי מהם אנשׁי מספר מחרב מרעב ומדבר למען יספרו את כל תועבותיהם בגוים אשׁר באו שׁם וידעו כי אני יהוה׃
12:17	ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר׃
12:18	בן אדם לחמך ברעשׁ תאכל ומימיך ברגזה ובדאגה תשׁתה׃
12:19	ואמרת אל עם הארץ כה אמר אדני יהוה ליושׁבי ירושׁלם אל אדמת ישׂראל לחמם בדאגה יאכלו ומימיהם בשׁממון ישׁתו למען תשׁם ארצה ממלאה מחמס כל הישׁבים׃
12:20	והערים הנושׁבות תחרבנה והארץ שׁממה תהיה וידעתם כי אני יהוה׃
12:21	ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר׃
12:22	בן אדם מה המשׁל הזה לכם על אדמת ישׂראל לאמר יארכו הימים ואבד כל חזון׃
12:23	לכן אמר אליהם כה אמר אדני יהוה השׁבתי את המשׁל הזה ולא ימשׁלו אתו עוד בישׂראל כי אם דבר אליהם קרבו הימים ודבר כל חזון׃
12:24	כי לא יהיה עוד כל חזון שׁוא ומקסם חלק בתוך בית ישׂראל׃
12:25	כי אני יהוה אדבר את אשׁר אדבר דבר ויעשׂה לא תמשׁך עוד כי בימיכם בית המרי אדבר דבר ועשׂיתיו נאם אדני יהוה׃
12:26	ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר׃
12:27	בן אדם הנה בית ישׂראל אמרים החזון אשׁר הוא חזה לימים רבים ולעתים רחוקות הוא נבא׃
12:28	לכן אמר אליהם כה אמר אדני יהוה לא תמשׁך עוד כל דברי אשׁר אדבר דבר ויעשׂה נאם אדני יהוה׃


12:1	And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,
12:2	`Son of man, in the midst of the rebellious house thou art dwelling, that have eyes to see, and they have not seen; ears they have to hear, and they have not heard; for a rebellious house `are' they.
12:3	And thou, son of man, make to thee vessels of removal, and remove by day before their eyes, and thou hast removed from thy place unto another place before their eyes, it may be they consider, for a rebellious house they `are'.
12:4	And thou hast brought forth thy vessels as vessels of removal by day before their eyes, and thou, thou dost go forth at even before their eyes, as the goings forth of a removal.
12:5	Before their eyes dig for thee through the wall, and thou hast brought forth by it.
12:6	Before their eyes on the shoulder thou dost bear, in the darkness thou dost bring forth, thy face thou dost cover, and thou dost not see the earth, for a type I have given thee to the house of Israel.'
12:7	And I do so, as I have been commanded; my vessels I have brought forth as vessels of removal by day, and at even I have dug for me through the wall with the hand; in the darkness I have brought forth, on the shoulder I have borne away, before their eyes.
12:8	And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, in the morning, saying,
12:9	`Son of man, have they not said unto thee -- the house of Israel -- the rebellious house -- What art thou doing?
12:10	say unto them, Thus said the Lord Jehovah: `The prince `is' this burden in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel who are in their midst.
12:11	Say: I `am' your type; as I have done so it is done to them, into a removal, into a captivity, they do go.
12:12	As to the prince who `is' in their midst, on the shoulder he beareth in the darkness, and he goeth forth, through the wall they dig to bring forth by it, his face he covereth, that he may not look on the very surface of the land.
12:13	And I have spread My net for him, and he hath been caught in My snare, and I have brought him in to Babylon, the land of the Chaldeans, and it he doth not see -- and there doth he die.
12:14	`And all who are round about him to help him, and all his bands, I do scatter to every wind, and a sword I draw out after them.
12:15	And they have known that I `am' Jehovah, in My scattering them among nations, and I have spread them through lands;
12:16	and I have left of them, a few in number, from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence, so that they recount all their abominations among the nations whither they have come, and they have known that I `am' Jehovah.'
12:17	And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,
12:18	`Son of man, thy bread in haste thou dost eat, and thy water with trembling and with fear thou dost drink;
12:19	and thou hast said unto the people of the land, Thus said the Lord Jehovah concerning the inhabitants of Jerusalem, concerning the land of Israel: Their bread with fear they do eat, and their water with astonishment drink, because its land is desolate, because of its fulness, because of the violence of all who are dwelling in it.
12:20	And the cities that are inhabited are laid waste, and the land is a desolation, and ye have known that I `am' Jehovah.'
12:21	And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,
12:22	`Son of man, what `is' this simile to you, concerning the land of Israel, saying, Prolonged are the days, and perished hath every vision?
12:23	therefore say unto them: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: I have caused this simile to cease, And they use it not as a simile again in Israel, But speak to them: Drawn near have the days, And spoken hath every vision.
12:24	For there is no more any vain vision, and flattering divination, In the midst of the house of Israel.
12:25	For I `am' Jehovah, I speak, The word that I speak -- it is done, It is not prolonged any more, For, in your days, O rebellious house, I speak a word, and I have done it, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.'
12:26	And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying:
12:27	`Son of man, lo, the house of Israel are saying, The vision that he is seeing `is' for many days, and of times far off he is prophesying,
12:28	therefore say unto them: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: None of my words are prolonged any more, When I speak a word -- it is done, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah!'
