Ezekiel - Chapter: 12

>
12:1And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,
12:2`Son of man, in the midst of the rebellious house thou art dwelling, that have eyes to see, and they have not seen; ears they have to hear, and they have not heard; for a rebellious house `are' they.
12:3And thou, son of man, make to thee vessels of removal, and remove by day before their eyes, and thou hast removed from thy place unto another place before their eyes, it may be they consider, for a rebellious house they `are'.
12:4And thou hast brought forth thy vessels as vessels of removal by day before their eyes, and thou, thou dost go forth at even before their eyes, as the goings forth of a removal.
12:5Before their eyes dig for thee through the wall, and thou hast brought forth by it.
12:6Before their eyes on the shoulder thou dost bear, in the darkness thou dost bring forth, thy face thou dost cover, and thou dost not see the earth, for a type I have given thee to the house of Israel.'
12:7And I do so, as I have been commanded; my vessels I have brought forth as vessels of removal by day, and at even I have dug for me through the wall with the hand; in the darkness I have brought forth, on the shoulder I have borne away, before their eyes.
12:8And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, in the morning, saying,
12:9`Son of man, have they not said unto thee -- the house of Israel -- the rebellious house -- What art thou doing?
12:10say unto them, Thus said the Lord Jehovah: `The prince `is' this burden in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel who are in their midst.
12:11Say: I `am' your type; as I have done so it is done to them, into a removal, into a captivity, they do go.
12:12As to the prince who `is' in their midst, on the shoulder he beareth in the darkness, and he goeth forth, through the wall they dig to bring forth by it, his face he covereth, that he may not look on the very surface of the land.
12:13And I have spread My net for him, and he hath been caught in My snare, and I have brought him in to Babylon, the land of the Chaldeans, and it he doth not see -- and there doth he die.
12:14`And all who are round about him to help him, and all his bands, I do scatter to every wind, and a sword I draw out after them.
12:15And they have known that I `am' Jehovah, in My scattering them among nations, and I have spread them through lands;
12:16and I have left of them, a few in number, from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence, so that they recount all their abominations among the nations whither they have come, and they have known that I `am' Jehovah.'
12:17And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,
12:18`Son of man, thy bread in haste thou dost eat, and thy water with trembling and with fear thou dost drink;
12:19and thou hast said unto the people of the land, Thus said the Lord Jehovah concerning the inhabitants of Jerusalem, concerning the land of Israel: Their bread with fear they do eat, and their water with astonishment drink, because its land is desolate, because of its fulness, because of the violence of all who are dwelling in it.
12:20And the cities that are inhabited are laid waste, and the land is a desolation, and ye have known that I `am' Jehovah.'
12:21And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,
12:22`Son of man, what `is' this simile to you, concerning the land of Israel, saying, Prolonged are the days, and perished hath every vision?
12:23therefore say unto them: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: I have caused this simile to cease, And they use it not as a simile again in Israel, But speak to them: Drawn near have the days, And spoken hath every vision.
12:24For there is no more any vain vision, and flattering divination, In the midst of the house of Israel.
12:25For I `am' Jehovah, I speak, The word that I speak -- it is done, It is not prolonged any more, For, in your days, O rebellious house, I speak a word, and I have done it, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.'
12:26And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying:
12:27`Son of man, lo, the house of Israel are saying, The vision that he is seeing `is' for many days, and of times far off he is prophesying,
12:28therefore say unto them: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: None of my words are prolonged any more, When I speak a word -- it is done, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah!'

12:1The word of the LORD also came unto me, saying,
12:2Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house.
12:3Therefore, thou son of man, prepare thee stuff for removing, and remove by day in their sight; and thou shalt remove from thy place to another place in their sight: it may be they will consider, though they be a rebellious house.
12:4Then shalt thou bring forth thy stuff by day in their sight, as stuff for removing: and thou shalt go forth at even in their sight, as they that go forth into captivity.
12:5Dig thou through the wall in their sight, and carry out thereby.
12:6In their sight shalt thou bear it upon thy shoulders, and carry it forth in the twilight: thou shalt cover thy face, that thou see not the ground: for I have set thee for a sign unto the house of Israel.
12:7And I did so as I was commanded: I brought forth my stuff by day, as stuff for captivity, and in the even I digged through the wall with mine hand; I brought it forth in the twilight, and I bare it upon my shoulder in their sight.
12:8And in the morning came the word of the LORD unto me, saying,
12:9Son of man, hath not the house of Israel, the rebellious house, said unto thee, What doest thou?
12:10Say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; This burden concerneth the prince in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel that are among them.
12:11Say, I am your sign: like as I have done, so shall it be done unto them: they shall remove and go into captivity.
12:12And the prince that is among them shall bear upon his shoulder in the twilight, and shall go forth: they shall dig through the wall to carry out thereby: he shall cover his face, that he see not the ground with his eyes.
12:13My net also will I spread upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare: and I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans; yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there.
12:14And I will scatter toward every wind all that are about him to help him, and all his bands; and I will draw out the sword after them.
12:15And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall scatter them among the nations, and disperse them in the countries.
12:16But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence; that they may declare all their abominations among the heathen whither they come; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
12:17Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
12:18Son of man, eat thy bread with quaking, and drink thy water with trembling and with carefulness;
12:19And say unto the people of the land, Thus saith the Lord GOD of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and of the land of Israel; They shall eat their bread with carefulness, and drink their water with astonishment, that her land may be desolate from all that is therein, because of the violence of all them that dwell therein.
12:20And the cities that are inhabited shall be laid waste, and the land shall be desolate; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
12:21And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
12:22Son of man, what is that proverb that ye have in the land of Israel, saying, The days are prolonged, and every vision faileth?
12:23Tell them therefore, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will make this proverb to cease, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel; but say unto them, The days are at hand, and the effect of every vision.
12:24For there shall be no more any vain vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel.
12:25For I am the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord GOD.
12:26Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
12:27Son of man, behold, they of the house of Israel say, The vision that he seeth is for many days to come, and he prophesieth of the times that are far off.
12:28Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; There shall none of my words be prolonged any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, saith the Lord GOD.

12:1And the word of Jehovah was to me, saying,
12:2Son of man, you dwell in the midst of a rebellious house. They have eyes to see, but they do not see; they have ears to hear, but they do not hear; for they are a rebellious house.
12:3And you, son of man, prepare for yourself vessels for exile, and go into exile by day in their sight. And you shall be exiled from your place to another place in their sight. Perhaps they will see that they are a rebellious house.
12:4And you shall bring forth your vessels as vessels for exile by day in their sight. And you shall go forth at evening in their sight, as those going into exile.
12:5In their sight dig for yourself through the wall, and carry out through it.
12:6In their sight you shall carry on the shoulder, in the dark carry out. You shall cover your face so that you do not see the ground, for I have set you as a wonder to the house of Israel.
12:7And I did so, as I was commanded. By day I brought forth vessels as vessels for exile. And in the evening I dug by hand for myself through the wall. I brought it out in the dark, and I carried on my shoulder before their eyes+.
12:8And in the morning the word of Jehovah came to me, saying,
12:9Son of man, has not the house of Israel, that rebellious house, said to you, What are you doing?
12:10Say to them, So says the Lord Jehovah: This burden is to the prince in Jerusalem, and to all the house of Israel who are among them.
12:11Say, I am your wonder. As I have done, so it shall be done to them. They shall go into exile, into captivity.
12:12And the prince who is among them shall carry on his shoulder in the dark and go forth through the wall. They shall dig to bring out by it. He shall cover his face so that he does not look with the eye on the earth.
12:13And I will spread My net on him, and he shall be taken in My snare. And I will bring him to Babylon, the land of the Chaldeans. Yet he will not see it, and he shall die there.
12:14And all who are around him, his help and all his bands, I will scatter to every wind, and I will draw out a sword after them.
12:15And they shall know that I am Jehovah when I shall scatter them among the nations and disperse them in the lands.
12:16But of them I will leave a number of men from the sword, from the famine, and from the plague, so that they may declare all their abominations among the nations, there where they go. And they shall know that I am Jehovah.
12:17And the word of Jehovah came to me, saying,
12:18Son of man, eat your bread with quaking, and drink your water with trembling and with anxiety.
12:19And say to the people of the land, So says the Lord Jehovah to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to the land of Israel: They shall eat their bread with anxiety and drink their water with horror, so that her land may be desolated of her fullness, because of the violence of all those who live in her.
12:20And the cities that have people shall be laid waste, and the land shall be desolate. And you shall know that I am Jehovah.
12:21And the word of Jehovah was to me, saying,
12:22Son of man, what is this proverb to you on the land of Israel, saying, The days are long, and every vision shall perish?
12:23Therefore, tell them, So says the Lord Jehovah: I will make this proverb cease, and they shall not use it again in Israel. However, say to them, The days draw near, and the matter of every vision.
12:24For there shall not again be every vain vision, nor slippery divination, within the house of Israel.
12:25For I, Jehovah, will speak. The word which I shall speak shall be done, it shall not be drawn out again. For in your days, O house of rebellion, I will say the word and will do it, declares the Lord Jehovah.
12:26And the word of Jehovah was to me, saying,
12:27Son of man, behold, the house of Israel is saying, The vision that he is seeing is for many days, and he prophesies for times far off.
12:28So say to them, So says the Lord Jehovah: Not any of My words will be drawn out any longer. What I have spoken, that word shall be done, declares the Lord Jehovah.
