Ezekiel - Chapter: 22


22:1	Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
22:2	Now, thou son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? yea, thou shalt shew her all her abominations.
22:3	Then say thou, Thus saith the Lord GOD, The city sheddeth blood in the midst of it, that her time may come, and maketh idols against herself to defile herself.
22:4	Thou art become guilty in thy blood that thou hast shed; and hast defiled thyself in thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come even unto thy years: therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the heathen, and a mocking to all countries.
22:5	Those that be near, and those that be far from thee, shall mock thee, which art infamous and much vexed.
22:6	Behold, the princes of Israel, every one were in thee to their power to shed blood.
22:7	In thee have they set light by father and mother: in the midst of thee have they dealt by oppression with the stranger: in thee have they vexed the fatherless and the widow.
22:8	Thou hast despised mine holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths.
22:9	In thee are men that carry tales to shed blood: and in thee they eat upon the mountains: in the midst of thee they commit lewdness.
22:10	In thee have they discovered their fathers' nakedness: in thee have they humbled her that was set apart for pollution.
22:11	And one hath committed abomination with his neighbour's wife; and another hath lewdly defiled his daughter in law; and another in thee hath humbled his sister, his father's daughter.
22:12	In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbours by extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord GOD.
22:13	Behold, therefore I have smitten mine hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee.
22:14	Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I the LORD have spoken it, and will do it.
22:15	And I will scatter thee among the heathen, and disperse thee in the countries, and will consume thy filthiness out of thee.
22:16	And thou shalt take thine inheritance in thyself in the sight of the heathen, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.
22:17	And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
22:18	Son of man, the house of Israel is to me become dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are even the dross of silver.
22:19	Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye are all become dross, behold, therefore I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.
22:20	As they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my fury, and I will leave you there, and melt you.
22:21	Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you in the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst thereof.
22:22	As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I the LORD have poured out my fury upon you.
22:23	And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
22:24	Son of man, say unto her, Thou art the land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation.
22:25	There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof.
22:26	Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.
22:27	Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain.
22:28	And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken.
22:29	The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully.
22:30	And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
22:31	Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD.


22:1	ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר׃
22:2	ואתה בן אדם התשׁפט התשׁפט את עיר הדמים והודעתה את כל תועבותיה׃
22:3	ואמרת כה אמר אדני יהוה עיר שׁפכת דם בתוכה לבוא עתה ועשׂתה גלולים עליה לטמאה׃
22:4	בדמך אשׁר שׁפכת אשׁמת ובגלוליך אשׁר עשׂית טמאת ותקריבי ימיך ותבוא עד שׁנותיך על כן נתתיך חרפה לגוים וקלסה לכל הארצות׃
22:5	הקרבות והרחקות ממך יתקלסו בך טמאת השׁם רבת המהומה׃
22:6	הנה נשׂיאי ישׂראל אישׁ לזרעו היו בך למען שׁפך דם׃
22:7	אב ואם הקלו בך לגר עשׂו בעשׁק בתוכך יתום ואלמנה הונו׃
22:8	קדשׁי בזית ואת שׁבתתי חללת׃
22:9	אנשׁי רכיל היו בך למען שׁפך דם ואל ההרים אכלו בך זמה עשׂו בתוכך׃
22:10	ערות אב גלה בך טמאת הנדה ענו׃
22:11	ואישׁ את אשׁת רעהו עשׂה תועבה ואישׁ את כלתו טמא בזמה ואישׁ את אחתו בת אביו ענה׃
22:12	שׁחד לקחו בך למען שׁפך דם נשׁך ותרבית לקחת ותבצעי רעיך בעשׁק ואתי שׁכחת נאם אדני יהוה׃
22:13	והנה הכיתי כפי אל בצעך אשׁר עשׂית ועל דמך אשׁר היו בתוכך׃
22:14	היעמד לבך אם תחזקנה ידיך לימים אשׁר אני עשׂה אותך אני יהוה דברתי ועשׂיתי׃
22:15	והפיצותי אותך בגוים וזריתיך בארצות והתמתי טמאתך ממך׃
22:16	ונחלת בך לעיני גוים וידעת כי אני יהוה׃
22:17	ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר׃
22:18	בן אדם היו לי בית ישׂראל לסוג כלם נחשׁת ובדיל וברזל ועופרת בתוך כור סגים כסף היו׃
22:19	לכן כה אמר אדני יהוה יען היות כלכם לסגים לכן הנני קבץ אתכם אל תוך ירושׁלם׃
22:20	קבצת כסף ונחשׁת וברזל ועופרת ובדיל אל תוך כור לפחת עליו אשׁ להנתיך כן אקבץ באפי ובחמתי והנחתי והתכתי אתכם׃
22:21	וכנסתי אתכם ונפחתי עליכם באשׁ עברתי ונתכתם בתוכה׃
22:22	כהתוך כסף בתוך כור כן תתכו בתוכה וידעתם כי אני יהוה שׁפכתי חמתי עליכם׃
22:23	ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר׃
22:24	בן אדם אמר לה את ארץ לא מטהרה היא לא גשׁמה ביום זעם׃
22:25	קשׁר נביאיה בתוכה כארי שׁואג טרף טרף נפשׁ אכלו חסן ויקר יקחו אלמנותיה הרבו בתוכה׃
22:26	כהניה חמסו תורתי ויחללו קדשׁי בין קדשׁ לחל לא הבדילו ובין הטמא לטהור לא הודיעו ומשׁבתותי העלימו עיניהם ואחל בתוכם׃
22:27	שׂריה בקרבה כזאבים טרפי טרף לשׁפך דם לאבד נפשׁות למען בצע בצע׃
22:28	ונביאיה טחו להם תפל חזים שׁוא וקסמים להם כזב אמרים כה אמר אדני יהוה ויהוה לא דבר׃
22:29	עם הארץ עשׁקו עשׁק וגזלו גזל ועני ואביון הונו ואת הגר עשׁקו בלא משׁפט׃
22:30	ואבקשׁ מהם אישׁ גדר גדר ועמד בפרץ לפני בעד הארץ לבלתי שׁחתה ולא מצאתי׃
22:31	ואשׁפך עליהם זעמי באשׁ עברתי כליתים דרכם בראשׁם נתתי נאם אדני יהוה׃


22:1	And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,
22:2	`And thou, son of man, dost thou judge? dost thou judge the city of blood? then thou hast caused it to know all its abominations,
22:3	and thou hast said: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: The city is shedding blood in its midst, For the coming in of its time, And it hath made idols on it for defilement.
22:4	By thy blood that thou hast shed thou hast been guilty, And by thine idols that thou hast made thou hast been defiled, And thou causest thy days to draw near, And art come in unto thine years, Therefore I have given thee a reproach to nations, And a derision to all the lands.
22:5	The near and the far-off from thee scoff at thee, O defiled of name -- abounding in trouble.
22:6	Lo, princes of Israel -- each according to his arm Have been in thee to shed blood.
22:7	Father and mother made light of in thee, To a sojourner they dealt oppressively in thy midst, Fatherless and widow they oppressed in thee.
22:8	My holy things thou hast despised, And My sabbaths thou hast polluted.
22:9	Men of slander have been in thee to shed blood, And on the mountains they have eaten in thee, Wickedness they have done in thy midst.
22:10	The nakedness of a father hath one uncovered in thee, The defiled of impurity they humbled in thee.
22:11	And each with the wife of his neighbour hath done abomination, And each his daughter-in-law hath defiled through wickedness, And each his sister, his father's daughter, hath humbled in thee.
22:12	A bribe they have taken in thee to shed blood, Usury and increase thou hast taken, And cuttest off thy neighbour by oppression, And Me thou hast forgotten, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah!
22:13	And lo, I have smitten My hand, Because of thy dishonest gain that thou hast gained, And for thy blood that hath been in thy midst.
22:14	Doth thy heart stand -- are thy hands strong, For the days that I am dealing with thee? I, Jehovah, have spoken and have done `it'.
22:15	And I have scattered thee among nations, And have spread thee out among lands, And consumed thy uncleanness out of thee.
22:16	And thou hast been polluted in thyself Before the eyes of nations, And thou hast known that I `am' Jehovah.'
22:17	And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying, `Son of man,
22:18	The house of Israel hath been to Me for dross, All of them `are' brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, In the midst of a furnace -- dross hath silver been,
22:19	Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because of your all becoming dross, Therefore, lo, I am gathering you unto the midst of Jerusalem,
22:20	A gathering of silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, Unto the midst of a furnace -- to blow on it fire, to melt it, So do I gather in Mine anger and in My fury, And I have let rest, and have melted you.
22:21	And I have heaped you up, And blown on you in the fire of My wrath, And ye have been melted in its midst.
22:22	As the melting of silver in the midst of a furnace, So are ye melted in its midst, And ye have known that I, Jehovah, I have poured out My fury upon you.'
22:23	And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying:
22:24	`Son of man, say to it, Thou `art' a land, It `is' not cleansed nor rained on in a day of indignation.
22:25	A conspiracy of its prophets `is' in its midst, as a roaring lion tearing prey; The soul they have devoured, Wealth and glory they have taken, Its widows have multiplied in its midst.
22:26	Its priests have wronged My law, And they pollute My holy things, Between holy and common they have not made separation, And between the unclean and the clean they have not made known, And from my sabbaths they have hidden their eyes, And I am pierced in their midst.
22:27	Its princes in its midst `are' as wolves, Tearing prey, to shed blood, to destroy souls, For the sake of gaining dishonest gain.
22:28	And its prophets have daubed for them with chalk, Seeing a vain thing, and divining for them a lie, Saying, `Thus said the Lord Jehovah:' And Jehovah hath not spoken.
22:29	The people of the land have used oppression, And have taken plunder violently away, And humble and needy have oppressed, And the sojourner oppressed -- without judgment.
22:30	And I seek of them a man making a fence, And standing in the breach before Me, In behalf of the land -- not to destroy it, And I have not found.
22:31	And I pour out on them mine indignation, By fire of My wrath I have consumed them, Their way on their own head I have put, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah!'
