Ezekiel - Chapter: 22


22:1	Moreouer the word of the Lord came vnto me, saying;
22:2	Now thou sonne of man, wilt thou iudge, wilt thou iudge the bloodie citie? Yea thou shalt shew her all her abominations.
22:3	Then say thou, Thus saith the Lord God; The citie sheadeth blood in the middest of it, that her time may come, and maketh idoles against herselfe to defile herselfe.
22:4	Thou art become guilty in thy blood that thou hast shed, and hast defiled thy selfe in thine idoles, which thou hast made, and thou hast caused thy daies to draw neere, and art come euen vnto thy yeeres; therfore haue I made thee a reproch vnto the heathen, and a mocking to all countries.
22:5	Those that be neere, and those that be farre from thee, shall mocke thee which art infamous, and much vexed.
22:6	Behold the princes of Israel, euerie one were in thee to their power to shead blood.
22:7	In thee haue they set light by father and mother: in the middest of thee haue they dealt by oppression with the stranger: in thee haue they vexed the fatherlesse and the widow:
22:8	Thou hast despised mine holy things, & hast prophaned my sabbaths:
22:9	In thee are men that carie tales to shead blood: and in thee they eate vpon the mountaines: in the middest of thee they commit lewdnesse.
22:10	In thee haue they discouered their fathers nakednesse: in thee haue they humbled her that was set apart for pollution.
22:11	And one hath committed abomination with his neighbours wife, and an other hath lewdly defiled his daughter in law, and an other in thee hath humbled his sister, his fathers daughter.
22:12	In thee haue they taken gifts to shead blood: thou hast taken vsury and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbours by extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord God.
22:13	Behold therefore, I haue smitten mine hand at thy dishonest gaine which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath bene in the midst of thee.
22:14	Can thine heart indure, or can thine hands be strong in the dayes that I shall deale with thee? I the Lord haue spoken it, and will doe it.
22:15	And I will scatter thee among the heathen, and disperse thee in the countreys, and will consume thy filthinesse out of thee.
22:16	And thou shalt take thine inheritance in thy selfe in the sight of the heathen, and thou shalt know that I am the Lord.
22:17	And the word of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
22:18	Sonne of man, the house of Israel is to me become drosse: all they are brasse, and tinne, and yron, and lead in the midst of the furnace: they are euen the drosse of siluer.
22:19	Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Because ye are all become drosse, behold therefore I will gather you into the midst of Ierusalem.
22:20	As they gather siluer, and brasse, and yron, and lead, and tinne into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire vpon it, to melt it: so will I gather you in mine anger, and in my fury, and I will leaue you there, and melt you.
22:21	Yea, I will gather you, and blow vpon you in the fire of my wrath, and ye shalbe melted in the midst thereof.
22:22	As siluer is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the middest thereof, and ye shall know that I the Lord haue powred out my furie vpon you.
22:23	And the word of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
22:24	Son of man, say vnto her, Thou art the land that is not cleansed, nor rained vpon in the day of indignation.
22:25	There is a conspiracie of her prophets in the middest thereof like a roaring lyon, rauening the praye: they haue deuoured soules: they haue taken the treasure and precious things: they haue made her many widowes in the midst thereof.
22:26	Her priests haue violated my law, and haue prophaned mine holy things: they haue put no difference betweene the holy and prophane, neither haue they shewed difference between the vncleane and the cleane, and haue hid their eyes from my Sabbaths, and I am prophaned among them.
22:27	Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolues rauening the praye, to shed blood, and to destroy soules, to get dishonest gaine.
22:28	And her prophets haue dawbed them with vntempered morter, seeing vanity, and diuining lies vnto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord God, when the Lord hath not spoken.
22:29	The people of the land haue vsed oppression, and exercised robbery, and haue vexed the poore and needie: yea, they haue oppressed the stranger wrongfully.
22:30	And I sought for a man among them, that should make vp the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
22:31	Therefore haue I powred out mine indignation vpon them, I haue consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their owne way haue I recompensed vpon their heads, saith the Lord God.

22:3	Then say, Thus sayth the Lord God, The citie sheddeth blood in the middes of it, that her time may come, and maketh idols against her selfe to pollute her selfe.
22:4	Thou hast offended in thy blood, that thou hast shed, and hast polluted thy selfe in thine idols, which thou hast made, and thou hast caused thy dayes to draw neere, and art come vnto thy terme: therefore haue I made thee a reproch to the heathen, and a mocking to all countreys.
22:5	Those that be neere, and those that be farre from thee, shall mocke thee, which art vile in name and sore in affliction.
22:6	Beholde, the princes of Israel euery one in thee was ready to his power, to shed blood.
22:7	In thee haue they despised father and mother: in the middes of thee haue they oppressed the stranger: in thee haue they vexed the fatherlesse and the widowe.
22:8	Thou hast despised mine holy things, and hast polluted my Sabbaths.
22:9	In thee are men that cary tales to shed blood: in thee are they that eate vpon the mountaines: in ye mids of thee they comit abomination.
22:10	In thee haue they discouered their fathers shame: in thee haue they vexed her that was polluted in her floures.
22:11	And euery one hath committed abomination with his neighbours wife, and euery one hath wickedly defiled his daughter in lawe, and in thee hath euery man forced his owne sister, euen his fathers daughter.
22:12	In thee haue they taken giftes to shed blood: thou hast taken vsurie and the encrease, and thou hast defrauded thy neighbours by extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord God.
22:13	Beholde, therefore I haue smitten mine hands vpon thy couetousnesse, that thou hast vsed, and vpon the blood, which hath bene in the middes of thee.
22:14	Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the dayes that I shall haue to doe with thee? I the Lord haue spoken it, and will doe it.
22:15	And I wil scatter thee among the heathen, and disperse thee in the countreys, and will cause thy filthines to cease from thee.

22:19	Therefore, thus sayth the Lord God, Because ye are all as drosse, beholde, therefore I will gather you in the middes of Ierusalem.

22:21	I wil gather you, I say, and blowe the fire of my wrath vpon you, and you shalbe melted in the mids thereof.
22:22	As siluer is melted in the mids of the fornace, so shall ye be melted in the mids thereof, and ye shall knowe, that I the Lord haue powred out my wrath vpon you.
22:23	And the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
22:24	Sonne of man, say vnto her; Thou art the land, that is vncleane, and not rained vpon in the day of wrath.

22:29	The people of the land haue violently oppressed by spoyling and robbing, and haue vexed the poore and the needy: yea, they haue oppressed the stranger against right.
22:30	And I sought for a man among them, that should make vp the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none.
22:31	Therefore haue I powred out mine indignation vpon them, and consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their owne wayes haue I rendred vpon their heads, sayth the Lord God.

22:3	and tell them: Thus sayeth the Lorde God: O thou cyte, that sheddest bloude in the myddest of the, that thy tyme maye come also: & makest the Idoles to defyle the wythall.
22:4	Thou hast made thy selfe gylty, in the bloude that thou hast shed: and defyled the in the Idoles, which thou hast made. Thou hast caused thy dayes to drawe nye, & made the tyme of thy yeares to come. Therfore wyll I make the to be confounded amonde the Heathen, & to be despysed in all the landes,
22:5	whether they be nye or farre from the: they shall laugh the to scorne, thou that hast gotten the so foule a name, & art full of myschefe.
22:6	Beholde, the rulers of Israel haue brought euery man hys power, to shed bloude in the.
22:7	In the haue they despysed father & mother, in the haue they oppressed the straunger, in the haue they vexed the wydowe and the fatherlesse.
22:8	Thou hast despysed my Sanctuary, and vnhalowed my Sabbath.
22:9	Murtherers are there in the, that shede bloude, & eate vpon the hylles, and in the they vse abhominacyon.
22:10	In the haue they discouered their fathers shame, in the haue they vexed wemen in their sicknesse.
22:11	Euery man hath dealte shamefully with his neyghbours wyfe, & abhominably defyled hys daughter in lawe. In the hath euery man forced his awne syster, euen his fathers daughter:
22:12	yee, gyftes haue bene receaued in the, to shede bloude. Thou hast taken vsury and encreace, thou hast oppressed thy neyghbours by extorcyon, and forgotten me, sayeth the Lorde God.
22:13	Beholde, I haue smyten my handes vpon thy couetousnesse, that thou hast vsed, and vpon the bloude whych hath bene shed in the.
22:14	Is thy herte able to endure it, or may thy handes defende them selues, in the tyme that I shall brynge vpon the? Euen I the Lorde that speake it, wyll brynge it also to passe.
22:15	I wyll scatre the amonge the Heathen, & strowe the aboute in the landes, & wyll cause thy fylthynesse to ceasse out of the:
22:16	yee, and thou shalt be thyne awne enheritaunce & not myne in the syght of the Heathen, that thou mayest knowe, that I am the Lorde.
22:17	And the worde of the Lorde came vnto me, sayinge:
22:18	Thou sonne of man, the house of Israel is turned to drosse. All they that shulde be brasse, tynne, yron, & leade, are in the fyre become drosse.
22:19	Therfore, thus sayeth the Lord God. For so moche as ye all are turned in to drosse, beholde: I wyll brynge you together vnto Ierusalem,
22:20	lyke as syluer, brasse, yron, tynne and leade are put together in the fornace, and the fyre blowen there vnder to melt them. Euen so will I gather you, put you in together, and melt you in my wrath & indignacyon.
22:21	I wyll brynge you together, and kyndle the fyre of my cruell displeasure vnder you, that ye maye be melted therin.
22:22	Lyke as the syluer is melted in the fyre, so shall ye also be melted therin: that ye maye knowe, howe that I the Lorde haue powred my wrath vpon you.
22:23	And the worde of the Lorde came vno me, sayinge.
22:24	Thou sonne of man, tell her. Thou art an vnclene lande, which is not rayned vpon in the daye of the cruell wrath:
22:25	thy Prophetes that are in the, are sworne together to deuoure soules, lyke as a roarynge Lyon, that lyueth by his praye. They receaue ryches and good, & make many wyddowes in the.
22:26	Thy prestes breake my lawe, and defyle my Sanctuary. They put no difference betwene the holye & vnholye, nether discerne betwene the cleane & vncleane: they turne their eyes fro my sabbathes, & I am vnhalowed amonge them.
22:27	Thy rulers in the are lyke rauyshynge wolues, to shed bloude, and to destroye soules, for their awne couetous lucre.
22:28	As for thy Prophetes, they dawbe with vntempered claye, they se vanytyes, and prophecye lyes vnto them, sayinge: the Lorde God sayeth so, where as the Lorde hath not spoken.
22:29	The people in the lande vseth wycked extorcyon & robbery. They vexe the poore & nedye and oppresse the straunger agaynst ryght.
22:30	And I sought in the lande for a man, that wolde make vp the hedge, and sett him selfe in the gappe before me in the landes behalfe, that yt shulde not be corrupted: but I could fynde none.
22:31	Therfore, I will poure out my cruell dyspleasure vpon them, & burne them in the fyre of my wrath: theyr awne wayes will I recompence vpon theyr heades saieth the lord God.
