Ezekiel - Chapter: 24

>
24:1And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth of the month, saying,
24:2`Son of man, write for thee the name of the day -- this self-same day leaned hath the king of Babylon toward Jerusalem in this self-same day --
24:3and use unto the rebellious house a simile, and thou hast said unto them: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: To set on the pot, to set `it' on, and also to pour into it water,
24:4To gather its pieces unto it, every good piece, Thigh and shoulder, the choice of the bones to fill in.
24:5The choice of the flock to take, And also to pile of the bones under it, Boil it thoroughly, yea, cook its bones in its midst.
24:6Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Wo `to' the city of blood, A pot whose scum `is' in it, And its scum hath not come out of it, By piece of it, by piece of it bring it out, Not fallen on it hath a lot.
24:7For her blood in her midst hath been, On a clear place of a rock she hath set it, She hath not poured it on the earth, To cover it over with dust.
24:8To cause fury to come up to take vengeance, I have put her blood on a clear place of a rock -- not to be covered.
24:9Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Wo `to' the city of blood, yea, I -- I make great the pile.
24:10Make abundant the wood, Kindle the fire, consume the flesh, And make the compound, And let the bones be burnt.
24:11And cause it to stand on its coals empty, So that its brass is hot and burning, Melted hath been in its midst its uncleanness, Consumed is its scum.
24:12`With' sorrows she hath wearied herself, And the abundance of her scum goeth not out of her, In the fire `is' her scum.
24:13In thine uncleanness `is' wickedness, Because I have cleansed thee, And thou hast not been cleansed, From thine uncleanness thou art not cleansed again, Till I have caused My fury to rest on thee.
24:14I, Jehovah, hath spoken, It hath come, and I have done `it', I do not free, nor do I spare, nor do I repent, According to thy ways, and according to thine acts, they have judged thee, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.'
24:15And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,
24:16`Son of man, lo, I am taking from thee the desire of thine eyes by a stroke, and thou dost not mourn, nor weep, nor let thy tear come.
24:17Cease to groan, `for' the dead thou dost make no mourning, thy bonnet bind on thee, and thy shoes thou dost put on thy feet, and thou dost not cover over the upper lip, and bread of men thou dost not eat.'
24:18And I speak unto the people in the morning, and my wife dieth in the evening, and I do in the morning as I have been commanded.
24:19And the people say unto me, `Dost thou not declare to us what these `are' to us, that thou art doing?'
24:20And I say unto them, `A word of Jehovah hath been unto me, saying:
24:21Say to the house of Israel: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I am polluting My sanctuary, The excellency of your strength, The desire of your eyes, and the pitied of your soul, And your sons and your daughters whom ye have left, by sword they do fall.
24:22And ye have done as I have done, On the upper lip ye are not covered, And bread of men ye do not eat.
24:23And your bonnets `are' on your heads, And your shoes `are' on your feet, Ye do not mourn nor do ye weep, And ye have wasted away for your iniquities, And ye have howled one unto another.
24:24And Ezekiel hath been to you for a type, According to all that he hath done ye do; In its coming in -- ye have known that I `am' the Lord Jehovah.
24:25And thou, son of man, Is it not in the day of My taking from them their strength, The joy of their beauty, the desire of their eyes, And the song of their soul, Their sons and their daughters?
24:26In that day come doth the escaped one to thee. To cause the ears to hear.
24:27In that day opened is thy mouth with the escaped, And thou speakest, and art not silent any more, And thou hast been to them for a type. And they have known that I `am' Jehovah.'

24:1In the ix. yeare, in the x. Moneth. the x. daye off the Moneth, came the worde off the LORDE vnto me, sayenge:
24:2O thou sonne off man, wryte vp the name off this daye, yee eue ye houre of this present daye: when the kynge of Babilon set himself agaynst Ierusale.
24:3Shewe yt obstinate housholde a parable, & speake vnto the: Thus sayet the LORDE God: Get the a pot, set it on, & poure water in to it:
24:4put all the peces together in it, all the good peces: the loyne and the shulder, & fyll it with the best bones.
24:5Take one off the best shepe, & an heape off bones withall: let it boyle well, & let the bones seyth well therin.
24:6With that, sayde the LORDE God on this maner: Wo be vnto the bloudy cite of ye pot, whervpon the rustynesse hageth, and is not yet scoured awaye. Take out the peces that are in it, one after another: there nede no lottes be cast therfore,
24:7for the bloude is yet in it Vpon a playne drye stone hath she poured it, and not vpon the grounde, that it might be couered with dust.
24:8And therfore haue I letten her poure hir bloude vpon a playne drye stony rocke, because it shulde not be hid, and that I might bringe my wrothfull indignacion and vengeaunce vpon her.
24:9Wherfore, thus saieth ye LORDE God: O, wo be vnto that bloudthurstie cite, for who I wil prepare a heape off wodde:
24:10beare thou ye bones together, kyndle thou the fyre, seeth the flesh, let all be well sodde, that the bones maye be suckte out.
24:11Morouer, set the pot emptye vpon the coales, that it maye be warme and the metall hote: that the fylth and rustynesse maye be consumed.
24:12But it will not go off, there is so moch off it: the rustinesse must be brent out.
24:13Thy filthinesse is abhominable, for I wolde haue clensed the, but thou woldest not be clensed. Thou canst not be pourged from thine vnclennesse, till I haue poured my wrothfull indignacion vpon the.
24:14Euen I the LORDE haue so deuysed: Yee it is come therto allredy, that I will do it. I will not go backe, I will not spare, I wil not be intreated: but acordinge to thy wayes ad ymaginacions, thou shalt be punyshed, saieth the LORDE God.
24:15And the worde off the LORDE came vnto me, sayenge:
24:16Thou sonne off man, beholde, I will take awaye the pleasure off thine eyes wt a plage: yet shalt thou nether mourne ner wepe, ner water thy chekes therfore:
24:17thou mayest mourne by thy selff alone, but vse no deadly lamentacion. Holde on thy bonet, and put on thy shues vpon thy fete, couer not thy face, and eate no mourners bred.
24:18So I spake vnto the people bytymes in the mornynge, and at euen my wyfe dyed: then vpon the nexte morow, I dyd as I was comaunded.
24:19And ye people sayde vnto me: wilt thou not tell vs, what that signifieth, which thou doest?
24:20I answered them, the worde off the LORDE came vnto me, sayege:
24:21Tell the house of Israel, thus saieth ye LODDE God: beholde, I wil suspende my Sanctuary: eue the glory of youre power, the pleasure of yor eyes, and the thinge that ye loue: youre sonnes and doughters whom ye haue left, shal fall thorow the swerde.
24:22Like as I haue done, so shall ye do also: Ye shal not hyde youre faces, ye shal eate no mourners bred:
24:23youre bonettes shal ye haue vpon youre heades, & shues vpon youre fete Ye shal nether mourne ner wepe, but in youre synnes ye shal be soroufull, and one repete with another.
24:24Thus Ezechiel is youre shewtoke. For loke as he hath done, so (when this commeth) ye shall do also: that ye maye lerne to knowe, that I am ye LORDE God.
24:25But beholde, O thou sonne of man: In the daye when I take from them their power, their ioye and honoure, the lust off their eyes, the burthe of their bodies: namely, their sonnes and doughters:
24:26The shall there one escape, and come vnto the, for to shewe the.
24:27In that daye shal yi mouth be opened to him, which is escaped, that thou mayest speake, and be nomore domme: Yee and thou shalt be their shewtoke, that they maye knowe, how that I am the LORDE.
