Ezekiel - Chapter: 29

>
29:1In the tenth year, in the tenth month, in the twelfth day of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
29:2Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt:
29:3Speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lieth in the midst of his rivers, which hath said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself.
29:4But I will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will cause the fish of thy rivers to stick unto thy scales, and I will bring thee up out of the midst of thy rivers, and all the fish of thy rivers shall stick unto thy scales.
29:5And I will leave thee thrown into the wilderness, thee and all the fish of thy rivers: thou shalt fall upon the open fields; thou shalt not be brought together, nor gathered: I have given thee for meat to the beasts of the field and to the fowls of the heaven.
29:6And all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am the LORD, because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel.
29:7When they took hold of thee by thy hand, thou didst break, and rend all their shoulder: and when they leaned upon thee, thou brakest, and madest all their loins to be at a stand.
29:8Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will bring a sword upon thee, and cut off man and beast out of thee.
29:9And the land of Egypt shall be desolate and waste; and they shall know that I am the LORD: because he hath said, The river is mine, and I have made it.
29:10Behold, therefore I am against thee, and against thy rivers, and I will make the land of Egypt utterly waste and desolate, from the tower of Syene even unto the border of Ethiopia.
29:11No foot of man shall pass through it, nor foot of beast shall pass through it, neither shall it be inhabited forty years.
29:12And I will make the land of Egypt desolate in the midst of the countries that are desolate, and her cities among the cities that are laid waste shall be desolate forty years: and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.
29:13Yet thus saith the Lord GOD; At the end of forty years will I gather the Egyptians from the people whither they were scattered:
29:14And I will bring again the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return into the land of Pathros, into the land of their habitation; and they shall be there a base kingdom.
29:15It shall be the basest of the kingdoms; neither shall it exalt itself any more above the nations: for I will diminish them, that they shall no more rule over the nations.
29:16And it shall be no more the confidence of the house of Israel, which bringeth their iniquity to remembrance, when they shall look after them: but they shall know that I am the Lord GOD.
29:17And it came to pass in the seven and twentieth year, in the first month, in the first day of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
29:18Son of man, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon caused his army to serve a great service against Tyrus: every head was made bald, and every shoulder was peeled: yet had he no wages, nor his army, for Tyrus, for the service that he had served against it:
29:19Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will give the land of Egypt unto Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall take her multitude, and take her spoil, and take her prey; and it shall be the wages for his army.
29:20I have given him the land of Egypt for his labour wherewith he served against it, because they wrought for me, saith the Lord GOD.
29:21In that day will I cause the horn of the house of Israel to bud forth, and I will give thee the opening of the mouth in the midst of them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

29:1In the tenthe yeer, in the tweluethe monethe, in the firste dai of the monethe, the word of the Lord was maad to me, and he seide,
29:2Thou, sone of man, sette thi face ayens Farao, king of Egipt; and thou schalt profesie of hym, and of al Egipt.
29:3Speke thou, and thou schalt seie, The Lord God seith these thingis, Lo! Y to thee, thou Farao, kyng of Egipt, thou grete dragoun, that liggist in the myddis of thi floodis, and seist, The flood is myn, and Y made mysilf.
29:4And Y schal sette a bridil in thi chekis, and Y schal glue the fischis of thi floodis to thi scalis; and Y schal drawe thee out of the myddis of thi floodis, and alle thi fischis schulen cleue to thi scalis.
29:5And Y schal caste thee forth in to desert, and alle the fischis of thi flood; on the face of erthe thou schalt falle doun, thou schalt not be gaderid, nethir schalt be gaderid togidere; to the beestis of erthe, and to the volatilis of the eir Y yaf thee to be deuourid.
29:6And alle the dwelleris of Egipt schulen knowe, that Y am the Lord. For that that thou were a staf of rehed to the hous of Israel, whanne thei token thee with hond,
29:7and thou were brokun, and to-rentist ech schuldre of hem, and whanne thei restiden on thee, thou were maad lesse, and thou hast discoumfortid alle the reynes of hem;
29:8therfor the Lord God seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal bringe a swerd on thee, and Y schal sle of thee man and beeste;
29:9and the lond of Egipt schal be in to desert, and in to wildirnesse, and thei schulen wite, that Y am the Lord. For that that thou seidist, The flood is myn, and Y made it, therfor lo!
29:10Y to thee, and to thi floodis. And Y schal yyue `in to wildirnesses the lond of Egipt distried bi swerd, fro the tour of Sienes til to the termes of Ethiopie.
29:11The foot of man schal not passe bi it, nether the foot of beeste schal go in it, and it schal not be enhabitid in fourti yeer.
29:12And Y schal yyue the lond of Egipt forsakun, in the myddis of londis forsakun, and the citees therof in the myddis of a citee distried, and tho schulen be desolat bi fourti yeer. And Y schal scatere Egipcians in to naciouns, and Y schal wyndewe hem in to londis.
29:13For the Lord God seith these thingis, After the ende of fourti yeer Y schal gadere togidere Egipt fro puplis, among whiche thei weren scaterid;
29:14and Y schal bringe ayen the caitifte of Egipte. And Y schal sette hem in the lond of Phatures, in the lond of her birthe; and thei schulen be there in to a meke rewme,
29:15and among othere rewmes it schal be most low, and it schal no more be reisid ouer naciouns. And Y schal make hem lesse, that thei regne not on hethene men;
29:16and thei schulen no more be to the hous of Israel in trist, techinge wickidnesse, that thei fle, and sue hem; and thei schulen knowe, that Y am the Lord God.
29:17And it was don in the seuene and twentithe yeer, in the firste monethe, in the firste dai of the monethe, the word of the Lord was maad to me,
29:18and he seide, Thou, sone of man, Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, made his oost to serue bi greet seruyce ayens Tire; ech heed was maad ballid, and ech schuldir was maad bare of heer, and meede was not yoldun of Tire to hym, nether to his oost, for the seruyce bi which he seruede to me ayens it.
29:19Therfor the Lord God seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal yyue Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, in the lond of Egipt, and he schal take the multitude therof; and he schal take in preye the clothis therof, and he schal rauysche the spuylis therof, and meede schal be to his oost,
29:20and to the werk for which he seruyde to me ayens it; and Y yaf the lond of Egipt to hym, for that that he trauelide to me, seith the Lord God.
29:21In that dai an horn of the hous of Israel schal come forth, and Y schal yyue to thee an open mouth in the myddis of hem; and thei schulen wite, that Y am the Lord.

29:1In the tenth yeare, vpon the twelueth daye of the tenth moneth, the worde of the Lorde came vnto me, sayenge:
29:2O thou sonne of man (set now thy face agaynst Pharao the kynge of Egypte) Prophecye agaynst him, and agaynst the whole lande of Egypt.

29:4I will put an hoke in thy chawes and hange all the fysh in thy waters vpon thy skales: after that I will drawe the out of thy waters, yee, and all the fysh of thy waters that hange vpon thy skales.
29:5I will cast the out vpon the drye lande wt the fysh of thy waters, so that thou shalt lye vpon the feld. Thou shalt not be gathered ner taken vp: but shalt be meate for the beastes of the felde, & for the foules of the ayre:
29:6that all they which dwell in Egypte, maye knowe, that I am the Lorde: because thou hast bene a staf of rede to the house of Israel.
29:7When they toke holde of the with theyr hande thou brakest & pryckedst them on euery syde: and yf they leaned vpon the, thou brakest and hurtdest the reynes of theyr backes.
29:8Therfore, thus sayeth the Lorde God: beholde, I wyll brynge a swearde vpon the, & rote out of the bothe man & beast.
29:9Yee, the lande of Egypte shalbe desolate & waste, and they shall knowe, that I am the Lorde. Because he sayde: the water is myne, I my selfe haue made it.
29:10Beholde therfore, I wyll vpon the, and vpon thy waters: I will make the lande of Egypt waste & desolate & in abashment, from the tower of Syenes vnto the borders of the Morians lande:
29:11so that in fourty yeares there shall no fote of man walke there, nether fote of catell go there, nether shall it be inhabited.
29:12I will make the land of Egypte to be desolat, amonge other waste conntrees, and her cyties to lye voyde fourty yeares, amonge other voyde cyties. And I will scatre the Egypcians among the Heathen and nacyons.
29:13Agayne, thus sayeth the Lorde God: When the .xl. yeares are expyred, I wyll gather the Egypcians together agayne, out of the nacions, among whom they were scatred,
29:14and wyll bryng the presoners of Egypt agayne into the land of Pathures theyr awne natyue countre, that they maye be there a lowly small kyngdome:
29:15yee, they shalbe the smallest amonge other kyngdomes, lest they exalte them selues aboue the Heathen: for I will so mynysh them that they shall nomore rule the Heathen.
29:16They shall nomore be an hope vnto the house of Israel, nether prouoke them any more to wyckednes, to cause them turne backe, and to folowe them: and they shall knowe that I am the Lorde God.
29:17In the .xxvii. yeare, the fyrst daye of the fyrst moneth, came the worde of the Lord vnto me sayeng:
29:18Thou sonne of man, Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon hath made his hoost, with great trauayle & labour to come before Tyre: that euery head maye be balde & euery shoulder bare. Yet hath Tyre geuen nether hym ner hys hoost any rewarde, for the great trauayl that he hath taken there.
29:19Therfore, thus sayeth the Lord God: beholde, I will geue the lande of Egypt vnto Nabuchodonosor the kynge of Babylon, that he maye take awaye all her substaunce, robbe her roberyes, & spoyle her spoyles, to paye his hoost theyr wagyes withall.
29:20I will geue hym the lande of Egypte for hys labour, that he toke for me before Tyre.
29:21At the same tyme will I cause the horne of the house of Israell to growe forth, and open thy mouth agayne among them: that they maye knowe, how that I am the Lorde.
