Daniel - Chapter: 3

>
3:1Nebuchad-nezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and ye breadth thereof sixe cubites: he set it vp in the plaine of Dura, in the prouince of Babylon.
3:2Then Nebuchad-nezzar the king sent to gather together the Princes, the Gouernours, and the Captaines, the Iudges, the Treasurers, the Counsellers, the Sherifes, and all the rulers of the Prouinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchad-nezzar the King had set vp.
3:3Then the Princes, the Gouernours and Captaines, the Iudges, the Treasurers, the Counsellers, the Sherifes, and all the rulers of the Prouinces were gathered together vnto the dedicatio of the image, that Nebuchadnezzar the King had set vp, and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set vp.
3:4Then an herauld cryed aloud, To you it is commaunded, O people, nations, and languages,
3:5That at what time yee heare the sound of the cornet, flute, harpe, sackbut, psalterie, dulcimer, and all kinds of musicke, yee fall downe, and worship the golden image that Nebuchad-nezzar the King hath set vp:
3:6And who so falleth not down and worshippeth, shall the same houre bee cast into the middest of a burning fierie furnace.
3:7Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harpe, sackbut, psalterie, and all kindes of musicke, all the people, the nations, and the languages fell downe and worshipped the golden image, that Nebuchad-nezzar the King had set vp.
3:8Wherefore at that time certaine Caldeans came neere, and accused the Iewes.
3:9They spake and sayd to the King Nebuchad-nezzar, O King, liue for euer.
3:10Thou, O King, hast made a decree, that euery man that shal heare the sound of the cornet, flute, harpe, sackbut, psalterie, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musicke, shall fall downe and worship the golden image:
3:11And who so falleth not downe & worshippeth, that he should be cast into the midst of a burning fierie furnace.
3:12There are certain Iewes whom thou hast set ouer the affaires of the prouince of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: these men, O King, haue not regarded thee, they serue not thy gods, nor worship the golden image, which thou hast set vp.
3:13Then Nebuchad-nezzar in his rage and furie commaunded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: then they brought these men before the King.
3:14Nebuchad-nezzar spake and said vnto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego? Doe not yee serue my gods, nor worship the golden image which I haue set vp?
3:15Now if ye be ready that at what time yee heare the sound of the cornet, flute, harpe, sackbut, psalterie, and dulcimer, and all kindes of musicke, ye fall downe, and worship the image which I haue made, well: but if yee worship not, ye shall be cast the same houre into the midst of a fierie furnace, and who is that God that shall deliuer you out of my handes?
3:16Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king; O Nebuchad-nezzar, we are not carefull to answere thee in this matter.
3:17If it be so, our God whom wee serue, is able to deliuer vs from the burning fierie furnace, and he will deliuer vs out of thine hand, O king.
3:18But if not, bee it knowen vnto thee, O king, that we will not serue thy gods, nor worship thy golden image, which thou hast set vp.
3:19Then was Nebuchad-nezzar full of furie, and the forme of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego: therefore he spake and commanded, that they should heat the furnace one seuen times more then it was wont to be heat.
3:20And hee commaunded the most mighty men that were in his armie, to binde Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fierie furnace.
3:21Then these men were bound in their coates, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fierie furnace.
3:22Therefore because the Kings commandement was vrgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that tooke vp Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.
3:23And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell downe bound into the midst of the burning fierie furnace.
3:24Then Nebuchad-nezzar the king was astonied, and rose vp in haste, and spake and said vnto his counsellers, Did not wee cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said vnto the king; True, O king.
3:25He answered and said, Loe, I see foure men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they haue no hurt, and the forme of the fourth is like the sonne of God.
3:26Then Nebuchad-nezzar came neere to the mouth of the burning fierie furnace, and spake and said, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, ye seruants of the most High God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came forth of the midst of the fire.
3:27And the princes, gouernours, and captaines, and the kings counsellers, being gathered together, saw these men, vpon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an haire of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.
3:28Then Nebuchad-nezzar spake and said; Blessed bee the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his Angel, and deliuered his seruants that trusted in him, and haue changed the Kings word, and yeelded their bodies, that they might not serue nor worship any God, except their owne God.
3:29Therefore I make a decree, That euery people, nation, and language, which speake any thing amisse against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill, because there is no other God, that can deliuer after this sort.
3:30Then the King promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the prouince of Babylon.

3:1Nebuchad-nezzar the King made an image of gold, whose height was three score cubits, and the breadth thereof sixe cubites: hee set it vp in the plaine of Dura, in the prouince of Babel.
3:2Then Nebuchad-nezzar ye King sent foorth to gather together the nobles, the princes and the dukes, the iudges, the receiuers, the counsellers, the officers, and all the gouernours of the prouinces, that they should come to the dedication of the image, which Nebuchad-nezzar the King had set vp.
3:3So the nobles, princes and dukes, the iudges, the receiuers, the counsellers, the officers, and all the gouernours of the prouinces were assembled vnto the dedicating of the image, that Nebuchad-nezzar the King had set vp: and they stood before the image, which Nebuchad-nezzar had set vp.
3:4Then an herald cried aloude, Be it knowen to you, O people, nations, and languages,
3:5That when ye heare the sound of the cornet, trumpet, harpe, sackebut, psalterie, dulcimer, and all instruments of musike, ye fall downe and worship the golden image, that Nebuchad-nezzar the King hath set vp,
3:6And whosoeuer falleth not downe and worshippeth, shall the same houre bee cast into the middes of an hote fierie fornace.
3:7Therefore assoone as all the people heard the sound of the cornet, trumpet, harpe, sackebut, psalterie, and all instruments of musike, all the people, nations, and languages fell downe, and worshipped the golden image, that Nebuchad-nezzar the King had set vp.
3:8By reason whereof at that same time came men of the Caldeans, and grieuously accused the Iewes.
3:9For they spake and said to the King Nebuchad-nezzar, O King, liue for euer.
3:10Thou, O King, hast made a decree, that euery man that shall heare the sounde of the cornet, trumpet, harpe, sackebut, psalterie, and dulcimer, and all instruments of musike, shall fall downe and worship the golden image,
3:11And whosoeuer falleth not downe, and worshippeth, that he should be cast into the mids of an hote fierie fornace.
3:12There are certeine Iewes whome thou hast set ouer the charge of ye prouince of Babel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: these men, O King, haue not regarded thy commandement, neither wil they serue thy gods, nor worship the golden image, that thou hast set vp.
3:13Then Nebuchad-nezzar in his anger and wrath commanded that they should bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: so these men were brought before the King.
3:14And Nebuchad-nezzar spake, and said vnto them, What disorder? will not you, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego serue my god, nor worship the golden image, that I haue set vp?
3:15Now therefore are ye ready when ye heare the sound of the cornet, trumpet, harpe, sackebut, psalterie, and dulcimer, and all instruments of musike, to fall downe, and worship the image, which I haue made? for if ye worship it not, ye shall be cast immediatly into the middes of an hote fierie fornace: for who is that God, that can deliuer you out of mine handes?
3:16Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the King, O Nebuchad-nezzar, we are not carefull to answere thee in this matter.
3:17Beholde, our God whom we serue, is able to deliuer vs from the hote fierie fornace, and hee will deliuer vs out of thine hand, O King.
3:18But if not, bee it knowen to thee, O King, that wee will not serue thy gods, nor worship the golden image, which thou hast set vp.
3:19Then was Nebuchad-nezzar full of rage, and the forme of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore hee charged and commanded that they should heate the fornace at once seuen times more then it was wont to be heat.
3:20And hee charged the most valiant men of warre that were in his armie, to binde Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the hote fierie fornace.
3:21So these men were bounde in their coates, their hosen, and their clokes, with their other garments, and cast into the middes of the hote fierie fornace.
3:22Therefore, because the Kings commandement was straite, that the fornace should be exceeding hote, the flame of the fire slew those men that brought foorth Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.
3:23And these three men Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego fell downe bound into the middes of the hote fierie fornace.
3:24Then Nebuchad-nezzar the King was astonied and rose vp in haste, and spake, and saide vnto his counsellers, Did not wee cast three men bound into the middes of the fire? Who answered and said vnto the King, It is true, O King.
3:25And he answered, and said, Loe, I see foure men loose, walking in the middes of the fire, and they haue no hurt, and the forme of the fourth is like the sonne of God.
3:26Then the King Nebuchad-nezzar came neere to the mouth of the hote fierie fornace, and spake and said, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, the seruants of the hie God goe foorth and come hither: so Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came foorth of the middes of the fire.
3:27Then the nobles, princes and dukes, and the Kings counsellers came together to see these men, because the fire had no power ouer their bodies: for not an heare of their head was burnt, neither was their coates changed, nor any smelll of fire came vpon them.
3:28Wherefore Nebuchad-nezzar spake and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who hath sent his Angel, and deliuered his seruants, that put their trust in him, and haue changed the Kings commandement, and yeelded their bodies rather then they would serue or worship any god, saue their owne God.
3:29Therefore I make a decree, that euery people, nation, and language, which speake any blasphemie against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, shalbe drawen in pieces, and their houses shall be made a iakes, because there is no god that can deliuer after this sort.
3:30Then the King promoted Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the prouince of Babel. (Daniel ) Nebuchad-nezzar King vnto all people, nations and languages, that dwell in all the world, Peace be multiplied vnto you: : (Daniel ) I thought it good to declare the signes and wonders, that the hie God hath wrought toward me. : (Daniel ) How great are his signes, and how mightie are his wonders! his kingdome is an euerlasting kingdome, and his dominion is from generation to generation. :

3:1Nabuchodonosor the kynge caused a golden Image to be made, whych was .lx. cubytes hye, and syxe cubytes thycke. This he made to be set vp in the felde of Dura in the land of Babylo
3:2& sent oute to gather together the dukes, Lordes and nobles, the iudges and officers, the debytes and shreues: with all the rulers of the lande: that they myght come to the dedicacyon of the Image which Nabuchodonosor the kynge had set vp.
3:3So the dukes, Lordes and nobles, the iudges and offycers, debytes and shreues with all the rulers of the lande gathered them together, and came vnto the dedycatynge of the Image, that Nabuchodonosor the kynge had set vp. Nowe when they stode before the Image, which Nabuchodonosor set vp,
3:4the bedel cried out with all his might: O ye people, kynreddes and tunges, to you be it sayde:
3:5that when ye heare the noyse of the trompettes, which shalbe blowen, with the harpes, shawmes, Psalteries, Symphonies and all maner of Musick: ye fall downe and worshippe the golden Image, that Nabuchodonosor the kynge hath set vp.
3:6Whoso then falleth not downe & boweth him selfe, shall euen the same houre be cast into an hote burnynge ouen.
3:7Therfore, when all the folcke herde the noyse of the trompettes that were blowen, with the harpes, shawmes, Psalteries, Symphonies and all kynde of Melody, then all the people, kynreddes and nacyons fell downe, and bowed them selues vnto the golden Image, that Nabuchodonosor the kynge had set vp.
3:8Now were there certayne men of the Caldees, that wente euen then and accused the Iewes,
3:9and sayde vnto the kynge Nabuchodonosor: O kyng, God saue thy lyfe for euer,
3:10Thou beynge kynge hast geuen a commaundement, that all men when they heare the noyse of the trompettes, harpes, shawmes, psalteries, symphonies and all the other melodies: shall fall downe and bowe them selues towarde the golden Image:
3:11whoso then fell not downe & worshypped not that, he shulde be cast into an hote burnynge ouen.
3:12Nowe are there certayne Iewes, whom thou hast set ouer the offyces of the lande of Babylon: namely, Sydrach: Mysach and Abednago. These men (O kyng) regarde not thy commaundment, yee, they wyll not serue thy goddes, ner bowe them selues to the golden Image, that thou hast set vp.
3:13Then Nabuchodonosor in a cruell wrath and displeasure, commaunded, that Sidrach Misach and Abednago shulde be brought vnto hym. So these men were brought before the kynge.
3:14Then Nabuchodonosor spake vnto them, & sayde: what? O Sidrach Misach and Abednago, wyll not ye serue my goddes? nor bowe youre selues to the golden Image, that I haue set vp.
3:15Well, be redy herafter, when ye heare the noyse of the trompettes blowe with the harpes, shawmes, psalteries, symphonyes and all the other melodyes: that ye fall downe, and worshyppe the Image which I haue made. But yf ye worshyppe it not, ye shall be cast immediatly into an hote burnyng ouen. Let se, what God is there, that maye delyuer you oute of my handes?
3:16Sydrach, Misach and Abednago answered the kynge, & sayde: O Nabuchodonosor, we ought not to consente vnto the in this matter, for why?
3:17oure God whom we serue, is able to kepe vs from the hote burnyng ouen (O kynge) and can ryght well delyuer vs out of thy handes.
3:18And though he wyll not, yet shalt thou knowe (O kyng) that we will not serue thy goddes, ner do reuerence to the Image, which thou hast set vp.
3:19Then was Nabuchodonosor full of indignacyon, so that the countenaunce of his face chaunged vpon Sidrach, Misach, and Abednago. Therfore he charged and commaunded, that the ouen shuld be made seuen tymes hotter, then it was wonte to be:
3:20& spake vnto the strongest worthies that were in his hoste, for to bynde Sidrach, Misach and Abednago, and to cast them into the hote burnynge ouen.
3:21So these men were bounde in their cotes hosen, shues wyth their other garmentes, & cast into the hote burnynge ouen:
3:22for the kynges commaundement was so strayte, and the ouen was excedynge hote. As for the men that put in Sidrach, Misach & Abednago, the flamme of the fyre destroyed them.
3:23And these thre men Sidrach, Misach & Abednago fell downe in the hote burnynge ouen, beynge faste bounde.
3:24Then Nabuchodonosor the kyng marueled and stode vp in all hast: he spake vnto hys councell and sayde: dyd not ye cast these thre men bounde into the fyre? They answered, and sayde vnto the king: Yee, O kynge.
3:25He answered, and sayde: lo, for all that, yet do I se foure men going lowse in the myddest of the fyer, and nothynge corrupte: and the fourth is lyke the sonne of God to loke vpon.
3:26Upon thys went Nabuchodonosor vnto the mouth of the hote burning ouen: he spake also, and sayde: O Sidrach, Misach and Abednago, ye seruauntes of the hye God, go forth, & come hyther. And so Sidrach, Misach & Abednago went out of the fier.
3:27Then the dukes, lordes & nobles, & the kinges councell came together to se these men, vpon whom the fyer had no maner of power in theyr bodies. In somoch that the very here of their heed was not burnt, & theyr clothes vnchaunged: yee, there was no smell of fier felt vpon them.
3:28Then spake Nabuchodonosor, and sayde, Blessed be the God of Sidrach, Misach and Abednago: which hath sent his angell, and defended his seruauntes, that put theyr trust in him: that haue altered the kinges commaundement: and ieoperde their bodies ther vpon: rather then they wolde serue or worshippe eny other God, excepte their awne God onely.
3:29Therfore I wyll and commaunde, that all people, kynredes and tunges, which speake any blasphemy agaynst the God of Sydrach, Misach, and Abednago, shall dye, and their houses shalbe prysed: Because, there is no God that maye saue, as thys.
3:30So the kynge promoted Sidrach, Misach, & Abdenego, in the lande of Babylon.
