Daniel - Chapter: 7

>
7:1In the first yeere of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel had a dreame, and visions of his head vpon his bed: then he wrote the dreame, and tolde the summe of the matters.
7:2Daniel spake, and said, I saw in my vision by night, & behold, the foure windes of the heauen stroue vpon the great Sea.
7:3And foure great beastes came vp from the sea, diuers one from another.
7:4The first was like a Lyon, and had Eagles wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were pluckt, and it was lifted vp from the earth, and made stand vpon the feete as a man, and a mans heart was giuen to it.
7:5And behold, another beast, a second, like to a Beare, and it raised vp it selfe on one side, and it had three ribbes in the mouth of it betweene the teeth of it, and they said thus vnto it, Arise, deuoure much flesh.
7:6After this I beheld, and loe, another like a Leopard, which had vpon the backe of it foure wings of a foule, the beast had also foure heads, and dominion was giuen to it.
7:7After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadfull and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great yron teeth: it deuoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feete of it, and it was diuers from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten hornes.
7:8I considered the hornes, and behold, there came vp among them another little horne, before whom there were three of the first hornes pluckt vp by the roots: and behold, in this horne were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
7:9I beheld till the thrones were cast downe, and the Ancient of dayes did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the haire of his head like the pure wooll: his throne was like the fierie flame, and his wheeles as burning fire.
7:10A fierie streame issued, and came foorth from before him: thousand thousands ministred vnto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the iudgement was set, and the bookes were opened.
7:11I beheld then, because of the voice of the great words which the horne spake: I beheld euen till the beast was slaine, and his body destroyed, and giuen to the burning flame.
7:12As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their liues were prolonged for a season and time.
7:13I saw in the night visions, and behold, one like the sonne of man, came with the clouds of heauen, and came to the Ancient of daies, and they brought him neere before him.
7:14And there was giuen him dominion and glory, and a kingdome, that all people, nations, and languages should serue him: his dominion is an euerlasting dominion, which shall not passe away; and his kingdome that, which shall not be destroyed.
7:15I Daniel was grieued in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.
7:16I came neere vnto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this: so he told mee, and made me know the interpretation of the things.
7:17These great beasts, which are foure, are foure Kings, which shall arise out of the earth.
7:18But the Saints of the most high shall take the kingdome, & possesse the kingdome for euer, euen for euer & euer.
7:19Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diuerse from al the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of yron, and his nailes of brasse, which deuoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feete,
7:20And of the ten hornes that were in his head, and of the other, which came vp, and before whom three fell, euen of that horne that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose looke was more stout then his fellowes.
7:21I beheld, and the same horne made warre with the Saints, and preuailed against them;
7:22Untill the Ancient of daies came, and iudgment was giuen to the Saints of the most high: and the time came that the Saints possessed the kingdome.
7:23Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdome vpon earth, which shall be diuerse from all kingdomes, & shall deuoure the whole earth, and shall tread it downe, and breake it in pieces.
7:24And the tenne hornes out of this kingdome are tenne Kings that shall arise: and an other shall rise after them, and he shall be diuerse from the first, and he shall subdue three Kings.
7:25And he shall speake great words against the most high, and shall weare out the Saints of the most high, and thinke to change times, and lawes: and they shall be giuen into his hand, vntill a time and times, & the diuiding of time.
7:26But the iudgement shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume, and to destroy it vnto the end.
7:27And the kingdome and dominion, and the greatnesse of the kingdome vnder the whole heauen, shall be giuen to the people of the Saints of the most high, whose kingdome is an euerlasting kingdome, and all dominions shall serue and obey him.
7:28Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.

7:1In the first yeere of Belshazzar King of Babel, Daniel sawe a dreame, and there were visions in his head, vpon his bed: then he wrote the dreame, and declared the summe of the matter.
7:2Daniel spake and saide, I sawe in my vision by night, and behold, the foure windes of the heauen stroue vpon the great sea:
7:3And foure great beastes came vp from the sea one diuers from another.
7:4The first was as a lyon, and had eagles wings: I beheld, til the wings thereof were pluckt of, and it was lifted vp from the earth, and set vpon his feete as a man, and a mans heart was giuen him.
7:5And beholde, another beast which was the second, was like a beare and stood vpon the one side: and hee had three ribbes in his mouth betweene his teeth, and they saide thus vnto him, Arise and deuoure much flesh.
7:6After this I behelde, and loe, there was an other like a leopard, which had vpon his backe foure wings of a foule: the beast had also foure heads, and dominion was giuen him.
7:7After this I saw in the visions by night, and beholde, the fourth beast was fearefull and terrible and very strong. It had great yron teeth: it deuoured and brake in pieces and stamped the residue vnder his feete: and it was vnlike to the beasts that were before it: for it had ten hornes.
7:8As I considered the hornes, beholde, there came vp among them another litle horne, before whome there were three of the first hornes pluckt away: and behold, in this horne were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking presumptuous things.
7:9I behelde, till the thrones were set vp, and the Ancient of dayes did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the heare of his head like the pure wooll: his throne was like the fierie flame, and his wheeles as burning fire.
7:10A fierie streame yssued, and came foorth from before him: thousand thousandes ministred vnto him, and tenne thousand thousands stoode before him: the iudgement was set, and the bookes opened.
7:11Then I behelde, because of the voyce of the presumptuous wordes, which the horne spake: I behelde, euen till the beast was slaine, and his body destroyed, and giuen to the burning fire.
7:12As concerning the other beastes, they had taken away their dominion: yet their liues were prolonged for a certaine time and season.
7:13As I behelde in visions by night, behold, one like the sonne of man came in the cloudes of heauen, and approched vnto the Ancient of dayes, and they brought him before him.
7:14And he gaue him dominion, and honour, and a kingdome, that all people, nations and languages should serue him: his dominion is an euerlasting dominion, which shall neuer bee taken away: and his kingdome shall neuer be destroyed.
7:15I Daniel was troubled in my spirit, in the middes of my body, and the visions of mine head made me afraide.
7:16Therefore I came vnto one of them that stoode by, and asked him the trueth of all this: so he tolde me, and shewed me the interpretation of these things.
7:17These great beastes which are foure, are foure Kings, which shall arise out of the earth,
7:18And they shall take the kingdome of the Saintes of the most High, and possesse the kingdome for euer, euen for euer and euer.
7:19After this, I woulde knowe the trueth of the fourth beast, which was so vnlike to all the others, very fearefull, whose teeth were of yron, and his nailes of brasse: which deuoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue vnder his feete.
7:20Also to know of the tenne hornes that were in his head, and of the other which came vp, before whome three fell, and of the horne that had eyes, and of the mouth that spake presumptuous thinges, whose looke was more stoute then his fellowes.
7:21I beheld, and the same horne made battel against the Saintes, yea, and preuailed against them,
7:22Vntill the Ancient of dayes came, and iudgement was giuen to the Saintes of the most High: and the time approched, that the Saintes possessed the kingdome.
7:23Then he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdome in the earth, which shall be vnlike to all the kingdomes, and shall deuoure the whole earth, and shall treade it downe and breake it in pieces.
7:24And the ten hornes out of this kingdome are tenne Kings that shall rise: and an other shall rise after them, and he shall be vnlike to the first, and he shall subdue three Kings,
7:25And shall speake wordes against the most High, and shall consume the Saintes of the most High, and thinke that he may change times and lawes, and they shalbe giuen into his hand, vntill a time, and times and the deuiding of time.
7:26But the iudgement shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and destroy it vnto the ende.
7:27And the kingdome, and dominion, and the greatnesse of the kingdome vnder the whole heauen shalbe giue to the holy people of the most High, whose kingdome is an euerlasting kingdome and all powers shall serue and obey him.
7:28Euen this is the ende of the matter, I Daniel had many cogitations which troubled mee, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in mine heart.

7:1In the fyrst yeare of Balthazar kyng of Babylon; sawe Daniel a dreame, and a visyon was in hys heade vpon hys bedde. Which dreame he wrote, and the summe of the matter is thys.
7:2Daniel spake and sayde: I sawe in my visyon by nyght, and beholde: the foure wyndes of the heauen stroue vpon the see,
7:3and foure greate beastes came vp from the see, one vnlyke another.
7:4The fyrst was as a lyon, and yet had he Aegles wynges. I sawe, that his wynges were plucte from hym, and he taken awaye from the earth: that he stode vpon hys fete as a man, and that there was geuen him a mans herte.
7:5Beholde, the seconde beast was lyke a beare, & stode vpon the one syde. Among his teeth in his mouth he had .iii. greate longe teeth, & it was sayde vnto him. Aryse, eate vp, moch flesh.
7:6Then I loked, and beholde, there was another lyke vnto a leoparde, this had wynges as a foule, euen foure vpon the backe. Thys beast had foure heades, and there was power geuen hym.
7:7After this I sawe in a visyon by nyght, and beholde, the fourth beast was grymme and horrible, and maruelous stronge. It had great yron teeth, it deuoured and destroyed, and stamped the resydue vnder hys fete. It was farre vnlyke the other beastes that were before it: for it had ten hornes, wherof I toke good hede.
7:8And beholde, there came vp amonge them, another lytell horne, before whom there were thre of the fyrst hornes pluckte awaye. Beholde, this horne had eyes lyke a man, and a mouth speakynge presumptuous thynges.
7:9I loked tyll the seates were prepared, and tyll that olde aged sat him downe. His clothinge was as whyte as snowe, and the hearres of hys head lyke the pure woll. Hys trone was lyke the fyrye flame, and hys wheles as the burning fyre.
7:10There drew forth a fyrie streame, and went out from hym. A thousande tymes a thousande serued him .x.M. tymes ten thousande stode before hym. The iudgement was set, and the bokes opened.
7:11Then toke I hede there vnto, because of the voyce of the proude wordes, which the horne spake I behelde, tyll the beaste was slayne, and his body destroyed, geuen ouer to be brent in the fyre.
7:12As for the power of the other beastes also it was taken awaye, but theyr lyues were prolonged for a tyme and season.
7:13I sawe in a visyon by nyght, and beholde, there came one in the cloudes of heauen lyke the sonne of a man, which wente vnto the olde aged, before whom they brought him.
7:14Then gaue he him power & dignite regall, that all people, trybes and tunges shulde serue him. His power is an euerlastinge power, which shall neuer be put downe: & his kyngdome endureth uncorrupte.
7:15My herte was vexed, & I Daniel had a troubled sprete within me. & the visyons of my head made me afrayed:
7:16tyll I gat me vnto one of them that stode by, to knowe the trueth, concernynge all these thinges. So he tolde me, and made me vnderstande the interpretacyon of the thynges.
7:17These foure great beastes, are foure kynges which shall aryse out of the earth.
7:18These shall take in the kyngdome of the saynctes of the most hyest, and possesse it styll more & more for a longe season.
7:19After thys I requyred diligently to knowe the trueth, concerning the fourth beast, which was so farre vnlyke the other beastes, and so horrible: whose teeth were of yron, and his nayles of brasse: which deuoured and destroyed and stamped the resydue vnder his fete.
7:20I desyred, also to knowe the trueth, as touchynge the ten hornes that he had vpon his heade, and thys other which came vp afterwarde, before whose face there fell downe thre, which horne had eyes and a mouth that spake presumptuous thinges, and loked with a grymmer visage then hys felowes.
7:21I behelde, and the same horne made battayll agaynst the saynctes, yee and gat the victory of them,
7:22vntyll the tyme that the olde aged came, that the iudgement was geuen to the chefest saintes: and tyll the tyme that the sayntes had the kyngdome in possessyon.
7:23He gaue me thys answere. That fourth beaste shalbe the fourth kyngdome vpon earth: it shalbe more then all other kyngdomes, it shall deuoure, treade downe, and destroye all other landes.
7:24The ten hornes, are ten kynges, that shall aryse out of the kyngdome, after whom there shall stande vp another, which shalbe greater then the fyrst.
7:25He shall subdue thre kynges, & shall speake wordes agaynst the hyest of all: he shall destroye the sayntes of the most hyest, and thyncke, that he maye chaunge tymes and lawes. They shalbe geuen vnder hys power, vntyll a tyme, two tymes, & halfe a tyme.
7:26But the iudgement shalbe kepte, so that hys power shalbe taken from him, for he shall be destroyed, and peryssh at the last.
7:27As for the kyngdome, power and all might that is vnder the heauen: it shalbe geuen to the holy people of the moost hyest, whose kyngdome is euerlastynge: yee, all powers shall serue and obeye hym.
7:28Thus farre extende the wordes. Neuertheles, I Daniel was so vexed in my thoughtes, that my countenaunce chaunged but the wordes I kepte styll in my herte.
