8:2Thei clepiden me to helpe, A! my God, we Israel han knowe thee.
8:3Israel hath cast awei good, the enemye schal pursue hym.
8:4Thei regnyden, and not of me; thei weren princes, and Y knew not. Thei maden her gold and siluer idols to hem, that thei schulden perische.
8:5A! Samarie, thi calf is cast awei; my strong veniaunce is wrooth ayens hem. Hou long moun thei not be clensid?
8:6for also it is of Israel. A crafti man made it, and it is not god; for the calf of Samarie schal be in to webbis of ireyns.
8:7For thei schulen sowe wynd, and thei schulen repe whirlewynd. A stalke stondynge is not in hem, the seed schal not make mele; that if also it makith mele, aliens schulen ete it.
8:8Israel is deuouryd; now Israel is maad as an vnclene vessel among naciouns,
8:9for thei stieden to Assur. Effraym is a wielde asse, solitarie to hym silf. Thei yauen yiftis to louyeris;
8:10but also with meede thei hiriden naciouns. Now Y schal gadere hem togidere, and thei schulen reste a litil fro birthun of the kyng and of princes.
8:11For Efraym multipliede auteris to do synne, auteris weren maad to hym in to trespas.
8:12Y schal write to hem my many fold lawis, that ben arettid as alien lawis.
8:13Thei schulen brynge sacrifices, thei shulen offre, and ete fleischis; and the Lord schal not resseyue tho. Now he schal haue mynde on the wickidnessis of hem, and he schal visite the synnes of hem; thei schulen turne in to Egipt.
8:14And Israel foryat his makere, and bildide templis to idols, and Judas multipliede stronge citees; and Y schal sende fier in to the citees of hym, and it schal deuoure the housis of hym.

8:1Set the trumpet to thy mouth: he shall come as an eagle against the House of the Lord, because they haue transgressed my couenant, and trespassed against my Lawe.
8:2Israel shall crie vnto me, My God, we know thee.
8:3Israel hath cast off ye thing that is good: the enemie shall pursue him.
8:4They haue set vp a King, but not by me: they haue made princes, and I knew it not: of their siluer and their gold haue they made them idoles: therefore shall they be destroyed.
8:5Thy calfe, O Samaria, hath cast thee off: mine anger is kindled against them: howe long will they be without innocencie!
8:6For it came euen from Israel: the workeman made it, therefore it is not God: but the calfe of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.
8:7For they haue sowne the winde, and they shall reape the whirlewind: it hath no stalke: the budde shall bring foorth no meale: if so be it bring forth, the strangers shall deuoure it.
8:8Israel is deuoured, now shall they be among the Gentiles as a vessell wherein is no pleasure.
8:9For they are gone vp to Asshur: they are as a wilde asse alone by himselfe: Ephraim hath hired louers.
8:10Yet though they haue hired among the nations, nowe will I gather them, and they shall sorowe a litle, for the burden of the King and the princes.
8:11Because Ephraim hath made many altars to sinne, his altars shalbe to sinne.
8:12I haue written to them the great things of my Lawe: but they were counted as a strange thing.
8:13They sacrifice flesh for ye sacrifices of mine offerings, and eate it: but the Lord accepteth them not: now will he remember their iniquitie, and visite their sinnes: they shall returne to Egypt.
8:14For Israel hath forgotten his maker, and buildeth Temples, and Iudah hath increased strong cities: but I will sende a fire vpon his cities, and it shall deuoure the palaces thereof.
