Hosea - Chapter: 13

>
13:1When Ephraim speaketh tremblingly, He hath been lifted up in Israel, When he becometh guilty in Baal he dieth.
13:2And now do they add to sin, And make to them a molten image of their silver, By their own understanding -- idols, A work of artizans -- all of it, Of them they say, who `are' sacrificers among men, `The calves let them kiss.'
13:3Therefore they are as a cloud of the morning, And as dew, rising early, going away, As chaff tossed about out of a floor, And as smoke out of a window.
13:4And I `am' Jehovah thy God from the land of Egypt, And a God besides Me thou dost not know, And a Saviour -- there is none save Me.
13:5I -- I have known thee in a wilderness, In a land of droughts.
13:6According to their feedings they are satiated, They have been satiated, And their heart is lifted up, Therefore they have forgotten Me,
13:7And I am to them as a lion, As a leopard by the way I look out.
13:8I do meet them as a bereaved bear, And I rend the enclosure of their heart.
13:9And I consume them there as a lioness, A beast of the field doth rend them.
13:10Thou hast destroyed thyself, O Israel, But in Me `is' thy help, Where `is' thy king now -- And he doth save thee in all thy cities? And thy judges of whom thou didst say, `Give to me a king and heads?'
13:11I give to thee a king in Mine anger, And I take away in My wrath.
13:12Bound up `is' the iniquity of Ephraim, Hidden `is' his sin,
13:13Pangs of a travailing woman come to him, He `is' a son not wise, For he remaineth not the time for the breaking forth of sons.
13:14From the hand of Sheol I do ransom them, From death I redeem them, Where `is' thy plague, O death? Where thy destruction, O Sheol? Repentance is hid from Mine eyes.
13:15Though he among brethren produceth fruit, Come in doth an east wind, a wind of Jehovah, From a wilderness it is coming up, And it drieth up his fountain, And become dry doth his spring, It -- it spoileth a treasure -- every desirable vessel.
13:16Become desolate doth Samaria, Because she hath rebelled against her God, By sword they do fall, Their sucklings are dashed in pieces, And its pregnant ones are ripped up!

13:1When Ephraim spake trembling, he exalted himself in Israel; but when he offended in Baal, he died.
13:2And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten images of their silver, and idols according to their own understanding, all of it the work of the craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice kiss the calves.
13:3Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud, and as the early dew that passeth away, as the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind out of the floor, and as the smoke out of the chimney.
13:4Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.
13:5I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.
13:6According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.
13:7Therefore I will be unto them as a lion: as a leopard by the way will I observe them:
13:8I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the caul of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them.
13:9O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help.
13:10I will be thy king: where is any other that may save thee in all thy cities? and thy judges of whom thou saidst, Give me a king and princes?
13:11I gave thee a king in mine anger, and took him away in my wrath.
13:12The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; his sin is hid.
13:13The sorrows of a travailing woman shall come upon him: he is an unwise son; for he should not stay long in the place of the breaking forth of children.
13:14I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.
13:15Though he be fruitful among his brethren, an east wind shall come, the wind of the LORD shall come up from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up: he shall spoil the treasure of all pleasant vessels.
13:16Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.

13:1When Ephraim spoke trembling, he was lifted up in Israel. But he offended in Baal, and he died.
13:2And now they sin more and more, and they have made themselves a molten image of their silver, idols according to their own understanding, all of it the work of the craftsmen. They say to them, Let men, those who sacrifice, kiss calves.
13:3So they shall be as the morning cloud, and as the early dew that passes away, as chaff storm driven from the threshing floor, and as the smoke out of the window.
13:4Yet I am Jehovah, your God from the land of Egypt; and you shall know no other gods than Me. For there is no Savior besides Me.
13:5I have known you in the wilderness, in the land of great dryness.
13:6According to their pasture, so they were filled. They were filled, and their heart was lifted up. On account of this they have forgotten Me.
13:7Now I am as a lion to them; I will watch by the way like a leopard.
13:8I will meet them like a bereaved bear, and I will tear the lining of their heart; and as a lion, I will devour them there; the beast of the field shall tear them.
13:9O Israel, you are destroyed, but your help is in Me.
13:10Where is your king now, that he may save you in all your cities? And where are your judges of whom you said, Give to me a king and rulers?
13:11I gave to you a king in My anger, and took him away in My fury.
13:12The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; his sin is hidden.
13:13The pains of a woman in travail shall come to him; he is not a wise son, for he cannot stand still in the time of the breaking forth of sons.
13:14I will ransom them from the hand of Sheol; I will redeem them from death. O death, where are your plagues? O Sheol, where is your ruin? Repentance is hidden from My eyes.
13:15Though he is fruitful among brothers, an east wind shall come. The wind of Jehovah shall come up from the wilderness, and his spring shall be ashamed, and his fountain shall be dried up. He shall plunder the treasure of all desirable vessels.
13:16Samaria shall be desolate, for she has rebelled against her God. They shall fall by the sword, their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their pregnant women shall be ripped up.
