| 2:1 | Thus said Jehovah: For three transgressions of Moab, And for four, I do not reverse it, Because of his burning the bones of the king of Edom to lime, |
| 2:2 | And I have sent a fire against Moab, And it hath consumed the palaces of Kerioth, And dying with noise is Moab, With shouting, with voice of a trumpet. |
| 2:3 | And I have cut off a judge from her midst, And all its heads I slay with him, said Jehovah. |
| 2:4 | Thus said Jehovah: For three transgressions of Judah, And for four, I do not reserve it, Because of their loathing the law of Jehovah, And His statutes they have not kept, And their lies do cause them to err, After which their fathers did walk, |
| 2:5 | And I have sent a fire against Judah, And it hath consumed palaces of Jerusalem. |
| 2:6 | Thus said Jehovah: For three transgressions of Israel, And for four, I do not reverse it, Because of their selling for silver the righteous, And the needy for a pair of sandals. |
| 2:7 | Who are panting for the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, And the way of the humble they turn aside, And a man and his father go unto the damsel, So as to pollute My holy name. |
| 2:8 | And on pledged garments they stretch themselves near every altar, And the wine of fined ones they drink `in' the house of their gods. |
| 2:9 | And I -- I have destroyed the Amorite from before them, Whose height `is' as the height of cedars, And strong he `is' as the oaks, And I destroy his fruit from above, And his roots from beneath. |
| 2:10 | And I -- I have brought you up from the land of Egypt, And cause you to go in a wilderness forty years, To possess the land of the Amorite. |
| 2:11 | And I raise of your sons for prophets, And of your choice ones for Nazarites, Is not this true, O sons of Israel? An affirmation of Jehovah. |
| 2:12 | And ye cause the Nazarites to drink wine, And on the prophets ye have laid a charge, Saying, `Do not prophecy!' |
| 2:13 | Lo, I am pressing you under, As the full cart doth press for itself a sheaf. |
| 2:14 | And perished hath refuge from the swift, And the strong strengtheneth not his power, And the mighty delivereth not his soul. |
| 2:15 | And the handler of the bow standeth not, And the swift with his feet delivereth not `himself', And the rider of the horse delivereth not his soul. |
| 2:16 | And the courageous of heart among the mighty, Naked doth flee in that day, An affirmation of Jehovah! |

| 2:2 | But I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kirioth: and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet: |
| 2:3 | And I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof, and will slay all the princes thereof with him, saith the LORD. |
| 2:4 | Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have despised the law of the LORD, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to err, after the which their fathers have walked: |
| 2:5 | But I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem. |
| 2:6 | Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes; |
| 2:7 | That pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father will go in unto the same maid, to profane my holy name: |
| 2:8 | And they lay themselves down upon clothes laid to pledge by every altar, and they drink the wine of the condemned in the house of their god. |
| 2:9 | Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath. |
| 2:10 | Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years through the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite. |
| 2:11 | And I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazarites. Is it not even thus, O ye children of Israel? saith the LORD. |
| 2:12 | But ye gave the Nazarites wine to drink; and commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not. |
| 2:13 | Behold, I am pressed under you, as a cart is pressed that is full of sheaves. |
| 2:14 | Therefore the flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not strengthen his force, neither shall the mighty deliver himself: |
| 2:15 | Neither shall he stand that handleth the bow; and he that is swift of foot shall not deliver himself: neither shall he that rideth the horse deliver himself. |
| 2:16 | And he that is courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked in that day, saith the LORD. |

| 2:5 | And I shall send a fire against Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem. |
| 2:6 | So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn back from it, for they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of sandals, |
| 2:7 | panting for the dust of the earth on the head of the helpless, and turning aside the way of the humble. And a man and his father will go in to the same girl, in order to profane the name of My holiness. |
| 2:8 | And they will stretch out beside every altar, and on garments taken in pledge. And they will drink wine of those being fined in the house of God. |
| 2:9 | Yet I destroyed the Amorite from before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the great trees. And I destroyed his fruit from above and his roots from below. |
| 2:10 | Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt and led you in the wilderness forty years, to possess the land of the Amorite. |
| 2:11 | And I raised up from your sons for prophets, and for Nazarites from your young men. Is this not even so, O sons of Israel? declares Jehovah. |

| 2:15 | and he who handles the bow shall not stand, and he swift footed shall not save, and the horse rider shall not save his life. |
| 2:16 | And the stouthearted among the mighty shall run away naked in that day, declares Jehovah. |
