| 2:1 | Thus said Jehovah: For three transgressions of Moab, And for four, I do not reverse it, Because of his burning the bones of the king of Edom to lime, |
| 2:2 | And I have sent a fire against Moab, And it hath consumed the palaces of Kerioth, And dying with noise is Moab, With shouting, with voice of a trumpet. |
| 2:3 | And I have cut off a judge from her midst, And all its heads I slay with him, said Jehovah. |
| 2:4 | Thus said Jehovah: For three transgressions of Judah, And for four, I do not reserve it, Because of their loathing the law of Jehovah, And His statutes they have not kept, And their lies do cause them to err, After which their fathers did walk, |
| 2:5 | And I have sent a fire against Judah, And it hath consumed palaces of Jerusalem. |
| 2:6 | Thus said Jehovah: For three transgressions of Israel, And for four, I do not reverse it, Because of their selling for silver the righteous, And the needy for a pair of sandals. |
| 2:7 | Who are panting for the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, And the way of the humble they turn aside, And a man and his father go unto the damsel, So as to pollute My holy name. |
| 2:8 | And on pledged garments they stretch themselves near every altar, And the wine of fined ones they drink `in' the house of their gods. |
| 2:9 | And I -- I have destroyed the Amorite from before them, Whose height `is' as the height of cedars, And strong he `is' as the oaks, And I destroy his fruit from above, And his roots from beneath. |
| 2:10 | And I -- I have brought you up from the land of Egypt, And cause you to go in a wilderness forty years, To possess the land of the Amorite. |
| 2:11 | And I raise of your sons for prophets, And of your choice ones for Nazarites, Is not this true, O sons of Israel? An affirmation of Jehovah. |
| 2:12 | And ye cause the Nazarites to drink wine, And on the prophets ye have laid a charge, Saying, `Do not prophecy!' |
| 2:13 | Lo, I am pressing you under, As the full cart doth press for itself a sheaf. |
| 2:14 | And perished hath refuge from the swift, And the strong strengtheneth not his power, And the mighty delivereth not his soul. |
| 2:15 | And the handler of the bow standeth not, And the swift with his feet delivereth not `himself', And the rider of the horse delivereth not his soul. |
| 2:16 | And the courageous of heart among the mighty, Naked doth flee in that day, An affirmation of Jehovah! |

| 2:1 | Thus sayeth the LORDE: For thre and foure wickednesses off Moab, I will not spare him: because he brent the bones off the kynge of Edom to asshes. |
| 2:2 | Therfore wil I sende a fyre in to Moab, which shal cosume ye pallaces of Carioth: so yt Moab shal perish with a noyse, and the sounde of a shawme. |
| 2:3 | I will rote out the iudge from amoge them, and slaye all his prynces with him, sayeth the LORDE. |
| 2:4 | Thus sayeth the LORDE: for thre ad foure wickednesses of Iuda, I wil not spare him: because he hath cast asyde the lawe of the LORDE, and not kepte his commaundementes: for why, they wolde nedes be disceaued with the lyes, that their forefathers folowed. |
| 2:5 | Therfore will I sende a fyre in to Iuda, which shal consume the palaces of Ierusalem. |
| 2:6 | Thus sayeth the LORDE: For thre & foure wickednesses of Israel, I wil not spare him: because he hath solde the rightuous for money, and the poore for shues. |
| 2:7 | They treade vpon poore mens heades in the dust of the earth, & croke the wayes off the meke. The sonne and the father go to the harlot, to dishonoure my holy name: |
| 2:8 | they lye besyde euery aulter vpon clothes taken to pledge, and in the house of their goddes they drynke the wyne of the oppressed. |
| 2:9 | Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, that was as hie as the Cedre trees, and as stronge as the okes: notwithstodinge I destroyed his frute fro aboue, and his rote from vnder. |
| 2:10 | Agayne: I brought you out of the londe of Egipte, and led you xl. yeares thorow the wyldernesse, that ye might haue the Amoriters londe in possession. |
| 2:11 | I raysed vp prophetes amonge youre children, and absteyners amonge youre yoge men. Is it not so, o ye children of Israel, sayeth the LORDE? |
| 2:12 | But ye gaue the absteyners wyne to drynke, yee ye comaunded the prophetes, sayenge: Prophecy not. |
| 2:13 | Beholde, I wil crasshe you in sonder, like as a wayne crassheth, yt is full of sheaues: |
| 2:14 | so that ye swifte shall not escape, nether the stronge be able to do eny thynge: no, the giaunte shal not saue his owne life. |
| 2:15 | The archer shall not abyde, and the swifte off fote shall not escape. The horsma shal not saue his life, |
| 2:16 | & he that is as maly of stomack as a giaunte, shall in that daye be fayne to runne his waye naked, sayeth the LORDE. |
