| 1:3 | For behold, the Lord commeth forth out of his place, and will come downe and tread vpon the high places of the earth. |

| 1:5 | For the transgression of Iacob is all this, and for the sinnes of the house of Israel: What is the transgression of Iacob? Is it not Samaria? and what are the high places of Iudah? are they not Ierusalem? |
| 1:6 | Therfore I will make Samaria as an heape of the field, and as plantings of a vineyard; and I will powre downe the stones therof into the valley, and I will discouer the foundations thereof. |
| 1:7 | And all the grauen images thereof shall be beaten to pieces, and all the hires thereof shall be burnt with the fire, and all the idoles therof will I lay desolate: for she gathered it of the hire of an harlot, and they shall returne to the hire of an harlot. |
| 1:8 | Therfore I wil waile and houle, I will goe stript and naked: I will make a wailing like the dragons, and mourning as the owles. |
| 1:9 | For her wound is incurable, for it is come vnto Iudah: he is come vnto the gate of my people, euen to Ierusalem. |
| 1:10 | Declare yee it not at Gath, weepe yee not at all: In the house of Aphrah rowle thy selfe in the dust. |
| 1:11 | Passe yee away thou inhabitant of Saphir, hauing thy shame naked; the inhabitant of Zaanan came not forth in the mourning of Beth-ezel, he shall receiue of you his standing. |
| 1:12 | For the inhabitant of Maroth waited carefully for good, but euill came downe from the Lord vnto the gate of Ierusalem. |
| 1:13 | O thou inhabitant of Lachish, bind the charet to the swift beast: she is the beginning of the sinne to the daughter of Zion: for the transgressions of Israel were found in thee. |

| 1:16 | Make thee bald, and polle thee for thy delicate children, enlarge thy baldnesse as the Eagle, for they are gone into captiuitie from thee. |

| 1:5 | And all this shalbe for the wickednesse of Iacob, and the synnes of the house of Israel. But what is the wickednesse of Iacob? Is not Samaria? Which are the hye places of Iuda? Is not Ierusale? |
| 1:6 | Therfore I shall make Samaria an heape of stones in the felde, to laye aboute the vynyarde: hir stones shal I cast in to the valley, & discouer hir foudacios. |
| 1:7 | All hir ymages shalbe broke downe & all hir wynnynges shal be brent in the fyre: yee all hir Idols will I destroye: for why, they are gathered out of the hyre of an whore, & in to an whores hyre shal they be turned agayne. |
| 1:8 | Wherfore I wil mourne & make lamentacion, bare & naked will I go: I must mourne like ye dragos, & take sorow as ye Estriches: |
| 1:9 | for their woude is past remedy: And why? it is come in to Iuda, & hath touched ye porte of my people at Ierusale allredy. |
| 1:10 | Wepe not, lest they at Geth perceaue it. Thou at Betaphra, welter thy self in the dust and asshes. |
| 1:11 | Thou that dwellest at Sephir, get the hence with shame. The proude shall boost nomore for very sorowe: & why? hir neghboure shall take from her what she hath. |
| 1:12 | The rebellious cite hopeth, that it shal not be so euell: but for all that, the plage shal come from the LORDE, euen in to the porte of Ierusalem. |
| 1:13 | The greate noyse off the charettes shall feare them, that dwell at Lachis, which is an occasion of ye synne of ye doughter of Sion, for in the came vp the wickednesses of Israel. |
| 1:14 | Yee she sent hir coursers in to the londe of Geth. The houses of lies will disceaue the kynges of Israel. |
| 1:15 | And as for the (o thou that dwellest at Morassa) I shal brynge a possessioner vpon the, ad the plage of Israel shal reach vnto Odolla. |
| 1:16 | Make the balde, and shaue the, because of thy tender children: Make the cleane balde as an Aegle, for they shalbe caried awaye captyue from the. |

| 1:7 | And alle `grauun ymagis therof schulen be betun togidere, and alle hiris therof schulen be brent in fier; and Y schal putte alle idols therof in to perdicioun; for of hiris of an hoore tho ben gaderid, and `til to hire of an hoore tho schulen turne ayen. |
| 1:8 | On this thing Y schal weile and yelle, Y schal go spuylid and nakid; Y schal make weilyng of dragouns, and mournyng as of ostrigis. |

| 1:15 | Yit Y schal brynge an eir to thee, that dwellist in Maresa; the glorie of Israel schal come til to Odolla. |
| 1:16 | Be thou maad ballid, and be thou clippid on the sones of thi delices; alarge thi ballidnesse as an egle, for thei ben lad caitif fro thee. |
