| 5:1 | Now gather thy selfe in troupes, O daughter of troupes: he hath laid siege against vs: they shal smite the Iudge of Israel with a rod vpon the cheeke. |
| 5:2 | But thou Beth-leem Ephratah, though thou bee little among the thousands of Iudah, yet out of thee shall he come foorth vnto mee, that is to be ruler in Israel: whose goings foorth haue bene from of old, from euerlasting. |
| 5:3 | Therefore will hee giue them vp, vntill the time that shee which trauaileth, hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall returne vnto the children of Israel. |
| 5:4 | And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the Lord, in the Maiestie of the Name of the Lord his God, and they shall abide: for now shall he be great vnto the ends of the earth. |
| 5:5 | And this man shall bee the peace when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when hee shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seuen Shepheards, and eight principall men. |
| 5:6 | And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall hee deliuer vs from the Assyrian, when he commeth into our land, and when hee treadeth within our borders. |
| 5:7 | And the remnant of Iacob shall be in the midst of many people, as a dew from the Lord, as the showres vpon the grasse that tarieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sonnes of men. |
| 5:8 | And the remnant of Iacob shal be among the Gentiles in the middest of many people, as a Lyon among the beasts of the forrest, as a yong Lyon among the flockes of sheepe: who if he goe through, both treadeth downe, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliuer. |
| 5:9 | Thine hand shall be lift vp vpon thine aduersaries, and all thine enemies shalbe cut off. |
| 5:10 | And it shall come to passe in that day, sayth the Lord, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy charets. |
| 5:11 | And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and throw downe all thy strong holdes. |
| 5:12 | And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand, and thou shalt haue no more Southsayers. |
| 5:13 | Thy grauen images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee: & thou shalt no more worship the worke of thine hands. |
| 5:14 | And I will plucke vp thy groues out of the middest of thee: so will I destroy thy cities. |
| 5:15 | And I will execute vengeance in anger, and furie vpon the heathen, such as they haue not heard. |

| 5:3 | In the meane whyle he plageth them for a season, vntill the tyme that she (which shall beare) haue borne: then shall the remnaunt of his brethren be conuerted vnto ye children of Israel. |
| 5:4 | He shal stonde fast, and geue fode in the strength of the LORDE, and in the victory of the name of ye LORDE his God: and when they be conuerted, he shall be magnified vnto the farthest partes of the worlde. |
| 5:5 | Then shal there be peace, so that the Assirian maye come in to oure londe, and treade in oure houses. We shall brynge vp seuen shepherdes and viij. prynces vpo them: |
| 5:6 | these shal subdue the londe of Assur wt the swerde, and the londe of Nymrod with their naked weapens. Thus shal he delyuer vs from the Assiria, when he commeth within oure lande, and setteth his fote within oure borders. |
| 5:7 | And the remnaunt of Iacob shal be amonge the multitude of people, as the dew of the LORDE, and as the droppes vpon the grasse, that tarieth for no man, and waiteth of no body. |
| 5:8 | Yee the residue of Iacob shalbe amonge the Gentiles and the multitude off people, as the lyon amonge the beestes of ye wodde, and as the lyons whelpe amonge a flocke of shepe: which (when he goeth thorow) treadeth downe, teareth in peces, and there is no man that can helpe. |
| 5:9 | Thyne honde shalbe lift vp vpon thine enemies, and all thine aduersaries shal perish. |
| 5:10 | The tyme shal come also (sayeth the LORDE) that I wil take thine horses from the, & destroye thy charettes. |
| 5:11 | I will breake downe the cities off thy londe, and ouerthrewe all thy stronge holdes. |
| 5:12 | All witchcraftes will I rote out of thyne hande, there shall no mo soythsayenges be within the. |
| 5:13 | Thine Idols and thyne ymages will I destroye out of ye so that thou shalt nomore bowe thy self vnto the workes of thyne owne hondes. |
| 5:14 | Thy groues wil I plucke vp by the rotes, & breake downe thy cities. |
| 5:15 | Thus will I be aueged also, vpon all Heithen that will not heare. |

| 5:3 | For this thing he shal yyue hem til to the tyme in which the trauelinge of child schal bere child, and the relifs of hise britheren schulen be conuertid to the sones of Israel. |
| 5:4 | And he schal stonde, and schal fede in the strengthe of the Lord, in the heiythe of the name of his Lord God; and thei schulen be conuertid, for now he schal be magnefied til to the endis of al erthe. |
| 5:5 | And this schal be pees, whanne Assirius schal come in to oure lond, and whanne he schal trede in oure housis; and we schulen reise on hym seuene scheepherdis, and eiyte primatis men, ether the firste in dignytee. |
| 5:6 | And thei schulen frete the lond of Assur bi swerd, and the lond of Nembroth bi speris of hym; and he schal delyuere vs fro Assur, whanne he schal come in to oure lond, and whanne he schal trede in oure coostis. |
| 5:7 | And relifs of Jacob schulen be in the myddil of many puplis, as dew of the Lord, and as dropis on erbe, whiche abidith not man, and schal not abide sones of men. |
| 5:8 | And relifs of Jacob schulen be in hethene men, in the myddil of many puplis, as a lioun in beestis of the woodis, and as a whelpe of a lioun rorynge in flockis of scheep; and whanne he passith, and defoulith, and takith, there is not that schal delyuere. |
| 5:9 | And thin hond schal be reisid on thin enemyes, and alle thin enemyes schulen perische. |
| 5:10 | And it schal be, in that dai, seith the Lord, Y schal take awei thin horsis fro the myddil of thee, and Y schal distrie thi foure horsid cartis. |
| 5:11 | And Y schal leese the citees of thi lond, and Y schal distrie alle thi strengthis; and Y schal do awei witchecraftis fro thin hond, and dyuynaciouns schulen not be in thee. |
| 5:12 | And Y schal make for to perische thi `grauun ymagis, and Y schal breke togidere fro the myddil of thee thin ymagis, and thou schalt no more worschipe the werkis of thin hondis. |
| 5:13 | And Y schal drawe out of the middis of thee thi woodis, and Y schal al to-breke thi citees. |
| 5:14 | And Y schal make in woodnesse and indignacioun veniaunce in alle folkis, whiche herden not. |
