Micah - Chapter: 5

>
5:1Now gather thy selfe in troupes, O daughter of troupes: he hath laid siege against vs: they shal smite the Iudge of Israel with a rod vpon the cheeke.
5:2But thou Beth-leem Ephratah, though thou bee little among the thousands of Iudah, yet out of thee shall he come foorth vnto mee, that is to be ruler in Israel: whose goings foorth haue bene from of old, from euerlasting.
5:3Therefore will hee giue them vp, vntill the time that shee which trauaileth, hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall returne vnto the children of Israel.
5:4And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the Lord, in the Maiestie of the Name of the Lord his God, and they shall abide: for now shall he be great vnto the ends of the earth.
5:5And this man shall bee the peace when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when hee shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seuen Shepheards, and eight principall men.
5:6And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall hee deliuer vs from the Assyrian, when he commeth into our land, and when hee treadeth within our borders.
5:7And the remnant of Iacob shall be in the midst of many people, as a dew from the Lord, as the showres vpon the grasse that tarieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sonnes of men.
5:8And the remnant of Iacob shal be among the Gentiles in the middest of many people, as a Lyon among the beasts of the forrest, as a yong Lyon among the flockes of sheepe: who if he goe through, both treadeth downe, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliuer.
5:9Thine hand shall be lift vp vpon thine aduersaries, and all thine enemies shalbe cut off.
5:10And it shall come to passe in that day, sayth the Lord, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy charets.
5:11And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and throw downe all thy strong holdes.
5:12And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand, and thou shalt haue no more Southsayers.
5:13Thy grauen images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee: & thou shalt no more worship the worke of thine hands.
5:14And I will plucke vp thy groues out of the middest of thee: so will I destroy thy cities.
5:15And I will execute vengeance in anger, and furie vpon the heathen, such as they haue not heard.

5:2And thou Beth-leem Ephrathah art litle to bee among the thousandes of Iudah, yet out of thee shall he come forth vnto me, that shalbe the ruler in Israel: whose goings forth haue bene from the beginning and from euerlasting.
5:3Therefore will he giue them vp, vntill the time that shee which shall beare, shall trauaile: then the remnant of their brethren shall returne vnto the children of Israel.
5:4And he shall stand, and feed in the strength of the Lord, and in the maiestie of the Name of the Lord his God, and they shall dwel still: for now shall he be magnified vnto the ends of the world.
5:5And hee shall be our peace when Asshur shall come into our lande: when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seuen shepheardes, and eight principall men.
5:6And they shall destroy Asshur with the sword, and the land of Nimrod with their swordes: thus shall he deliuer vs from Asshur, when hee commeth into our lande, and when he shall tread within our borders.
5:7And the remnant of Iaakob shalbe among many people, as a dewe from the Lord, and as the showres vpon the grasse, that waiteth not for man, nor hopeth in the sonnes of Adam.
5:8And the remnant of Iaakob shalbe among the Gentiles in the middes of many people, as the lyon among the beastes of the forest, and as the lyons whelpe among the flockes of sheepe, who when he goeth thorow, treadeth downe and teareth in pieces, and none can deliuer.
5:9Thine hand shall bee lift vp vpon thine aduersaries, and all thine enemies shalbe cut off.
5:10And it shall come to passe in that day, sayth the Lord, that I will cut off thine horses out of the middes of thee, and I will destroy thy charets.
5:11And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and ouerthrowe all thy strong holdes.
5:12And I will cut off thine enchanters out of thine hande: and thou shalt haue no more southsayers.
5:13Thine idoles also will I cut off, and thine images out of the middes of thee: and thou shalt no more worship the woorke of thine hands.
5:14And I wil plucke vp thy groues out of the middes of thee: so will I destroy thine enemies.
5:15And I will execute a vegeance in my wrath and indignation vpon the heathen, which they haue not heard.

 

5:1After that shalt thou be robbed thy selfe, O thou robbers daughter: they shall laye sege agaynst vs, & smyte the iudge of Israel wt a rodde vpon the cheke.
5:2And thou Bethleem Ephrata, art lytle amonge the thou sandes of Iuda, Out of the shal come vnto me, which shal be the gouernoure in Israel: whose out goynge hath bene from the begynning, & from euerlastynge.
5:3In the meane whyle he plageth them for a season, vntyll the tyme that she (which shall beare) haue borne: then shall the remnaunt of his brethren be conuerted vnto the children of Israel.
5:4He shall stande fast, and geue fode in the strength of the Lord, and in the victory of the name of the Lord his God: and when they be conuerted, he shall be magnified vnto the farthest partes of the worlde.
5:5Then shall there be peace, so that the Assyrian maye come into youre lande, & treade in youre houses. We shall bringe vp seuen shepherdes and .viii. princes vpon them:
5:6these shall subdue the land of Assur wt the swerde, and the lande of Nymrod with their naked weapens. Thus shal he deliuer vs from the Assirian, when he commeth within oure land, and setteth his fote within oure borders.
5:7And the remnaunt of Iacob shall be amonge the multitude of people, as the dewe of the Lorde, and as the droppes vpon the grasse, that tarieth for no man, and wayteth of no body.
5:8Yee, the residue of Iacob shalbe amonge the Gentiles and the multitude of people, as the lyon amonge the beastes of the wodd, and as the Lyons whelpe amonge a flocke of shepe: which (when he goeth thorowe) treadeth downe, teareth in peces, and there is no man that can helpe.
5:9Thyne hand shalbe lift vp vpon thyne enemyes, and all thyne aduersaries shall perish.
5:10The tyme shall come also, sayeth the Lord, that I will take thine horses from the, and destroye thy charettes.
5:11I wil breake downe the cityes of thy lande, and ouerthrowe all thy stronge holdes.
5:12All witchcraftes wyll I rote oute of thyne hande, there shall no mo sothsayinges be within the.
5:13Thine Idols and thyne Images will I destroye out of the so that thou shalt nomore bowe thy selfe vnto the worckes of thyne awne handes.
5:14Thy groues will I plucke vp by the rotes, & breake downe the cities.
5:15Thus will I be auenged also, vpon all the Heathen that will not heare.
