| 5:1 | Then I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a flying roll. |
| 5:2 | And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying roll; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits. |
| 5:3 | Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth: for every one that stealeth shall be cut off as on this side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall be cut off as on that side according to it. |
| 5:4 | I will bring it forth, saith the LORD of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name: and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof. |
| 5:5 | Then the angel that talked with me went forth, and said unto me, Lift up now thine eyes, and see what is this that goeth forth. |
| 5:6 | And I said, What is it? And he said, This is an ephah that goeth forth. He said moreover, This is their resemblance through all the earth. |
| 5:7 | And, behold, there was lifted up a talent of lead: and this is a woman that sitteth in the midst of the ephah. |
| 5:8 | And he said, This is wickedness. And he cast it into the midst of the ephah; and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth thereof. |
| 5:9 | Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven. |
| 5:10 | Then said I to the angel that talked with me, Whither do these bear the ephah? |
| 5:11 | And he said unto me, To build it an house in the land of Shinar: and it shall be established, and set there upon her own base. |

| 5:2 | ויאמר אלי מה אתה ראה ואמר אני ראה מגלה עפה ארכה עשׂרים באמה ורחבה עשׂר באמה׃ |
| 5:3 | ויאמר אלי זאת האלה היוצאת על פני כל הארץ כי כל הגנב מזה כמוה נקה וכל הנשׁבע מזה כמוה נקה׃ |
| 5:4 | הוצאתיה נאם יהוה צבאות ובאה אל בית הגנב ואל בית הנשׁבע בשׁמי לשׁקר ולנה בתוך ביתו וכלתו ואת עציו ואת אבניו׃ |
| 5:5 | ויצא המלאך הדבר בי ויאמר אלי שׂא נא עיניך וראה מה היוצאת הזאת׃ |
| 5:6 | ואמר מה היא ויאמר זאת האיפה היוצאת ויאמר זאת עינם בכל הארץ׃ |
| 5:7 | והנה ככר עפרת נשׂאת וזאת אשׁה אחת יושׁבת בתוך האיפה׃ |
| 5:8 | ויאמר זאת הרשׁעה וישׁלך אתה אל תוך האיפה וישׁלך את אבן העפרת אל פיה׃ |
| 5:9 | ואשׂא עיני וארא והנה שׁתים נשׁים יוצאות ורוח בכנפיהם ולהנה כנפים ככנפי החסידה ותשׂאנה את האיפה בין הארץ ובין השׁמים׃ |
| 5:10 | ואמר אל המלאך הדבר בי אנה המה מולכות את האיפה׃ |
| 5:11 | ויאמר אלי לבנות לה בית בארץ שׁנער והוכן והניחה שׁם על מכנתה׃ |

| 5:2 | And he saith unto me, `What art thou seeing?' And I say, `I am seeing a flying roll, its length twenty by the cubit, and its breadth ten by the cubit.' |
| 5:3 | And he saith unto me, `This `is' the execration that is going forth over the face of all the land, for every one who is stealing, on the one side, according to it, hath been declared innocent, and every one who hath sworn, on the other side, according to it, hath been declared innocent. |
| 5:4 | `I have brought it out -- an affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts -- and it hath come in unto the house of the thief, and unto the house of him who hath sworn in My name to a falsehood, and it hath remained in the midst of his house, and hath consumed it, both its wood and its stones.' |
| 5:5 | And the messenger who is speaking with me goeth forth, and saith unto me, `Lift up, I pray thee, thine eyes, and see what `is' this that is coming forth?' |
| 5:6 | And I say, `What `is' it?' And he saith, `This -- the ephah that is coming forth.' And he saith, `This `is' their aspect in all the land. |
| 5:7 | And lo, a cake of lead lifted up; and this `is' a woman sitting in the midst of the ephah.' |
| 5:8 | And he saith, `This `is' the wicked woman.' And he casteth her unto the midst of the ephah, and casteth the weight of lead on its mouth. |
| 5:9 | And I lift up mine eyes, and see, and lo, two women are coming forth, and wind in their wings; and they have wings like wings of the stork, and they lift up the ephah between the earth and the heavens. |
| 5:10 | And I say unto the messenger who is speaking with me, `Whither `are' they causing the ephah to go?' |
| 5:11 | And he saith unto me, `To build to it a house in the land of Shinar.' And it hath been prepared and hath been placed there on its base. |
