Matthew - Chapter: 15

>
15:1Then come unto Jesus do they from Jerusalem -- scribes and Pharisees -- saying,
15:2`Wherefore do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they do not wash their hands when they may eat bread.'
15:3And he answering said to them, `Wherefore also do ye transgress the command of God because of your tradition?
15:4for God did command, saying, Honour thy father and mother; and, He who is speaking evil of father or mother -- let him die the death;
15:5but ye say, Whoever may say to father or mother, An offering `is' whatever thou mayest be profited by me; --
15:6and he may not honour his father or his mother, and ye did set aside the command of God because of your tradition.
15:7`Hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,
15:8This people doth draw nigh to Me with their mouth, and with the lips it doth honour Me, but their heart is far off from Me;
15:9and in vain do they worship Me, teaching teachings -- commands of men.'
15:10And having called near the multitude, he said to them, `Hear and understand:
15:11not that which is coming into the mouth doth defile the man, but that which is coming forth from the mouth, this defileth the man.'
15:12Then his disciples having come near, said to him, `Hast thou known that the Pharisees, having heard the word, were stumbled?'
15:13And he answering said, `Every plant that my heavenly Father did not plant shall be rooted up;
15:14let them alone, guides they are -- blind of blind; and if blind may guide blind, both into a ditch shall fall.'
15:15And Peter answering said to him, `Explain to us this simile.'
15:16And Jesus said, `Are ye also yet without understanding?
15:17do ye not understand that all that is going into the mouth doth pass into the belly, and into the drain is cast forth?
15:18but the things coming forth from the mouth from the heart do come forth, and these defile the man;
15:19for out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, whoredoms, thefts, false witnessings, evil speakings:
15:20these are the things defiling the man; but to eat with unwashen hands doth not defile the man.'
15:21And Jesus having come forth thence, withdrew to the parts of Tyre and Sidon,
15:22and lo, a woman, a Canaanitess, from those borders having come forth, did call to him, saying, `Deal kindly with me, Sir -- Son of David; my daughter is miserably demonized.'
15:23And he did not answer her a word; and his disciples having come to him, were asking him, saying -- `Let her away, because she crieth after us;'
15:24and he answering said, `I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.'
15:25And having come, she was bowing to him, saying, `Sir, help me;'
15:26and he answering said, `It is not good to take the children's bread, and to cast to the little dogs.'
15:27And she said, `Yes, sir, for even the little dogs do eat of the crumbs that are falling from their lords' table;'
15:28then answering, Jesus said to her, `O woman, great `is' thy faith, let it be to thee as thou wilt;' and her daughter was healed from that hour.
15:29And Jesus having passed thence, came nigh unto the sea of Galilee, and having gone up to the mountain, he was sitting there,
15:30and there came to him great multitudes, having with them lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and they did cast them at the feet of Jesus, and he healed them,
15:31so that the multitudes did wonder, seeing dumb ones speaking, maimed whole, lame walking, and blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel.
15:32And Jesus having called near his disciples, said, `I have compassion upon the multitude, because now three days they continue with me, and they have not what they may eat; and to let them away fasting I will not, lest they faint in the way.'
15:33And his disciples say to him, `Whence to us, in a wilderness, so many loaves, as to fill so great a multitude?'
15:34And Jesus saith to them, `How many loaves have ye?' and they said, `Seven, and a few little fishes.'
15:35And he commanded the multitudes to sit down upon the ground,
15:36and having taken the seven loaves and the fishes, having given thanks, he did break, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
15:37And they did all eat, and were filled, and they took up what was over of the broken pieces seven baskets full,
15:38and those eating were four thousand men, apart from women and children.
15:39And having let away the multitudes, he went into the boat, and did come to the borders of Magdala.

15:1Then came to Iesus scribes and pharises from Ierusalem sayinge:
15:2why do thy disciples transgresse the tradicios of ye elders? for they wesshe not their hondes when they eate breed.
15:3He answered and sayde vnto them: why do ye also transgresse ye comaundment of God thorowe youre tradicions?
15:4For God comaunded sayinge: honoure thy father and mother and he that cursseth father or mother shall suffer deeth.
15:5But ye saye every ma shall saye to his father or mother: That which thou desyrest of me to helpe ye with: is geven God:
15:6and so shall he not honoure his father or his mother. And thus haue ye made yt the comaundment of God is with out effecte through youre tradicios.
15:7Ypocrites well prophesyed of you Esay sayinge:
15:8This people draweth nye vnto me with their mouthes and honoureth me with their lippes howbe it their hertes are farre from me:
15:9but in vayne they worshippe me teachinge doctrines whiche are nothing but mens precepts.
15:10And he called the people vnto him and sayde to them: heare and vnderstande.
15:11That which goeth into the mouth defyleth not ye man: but that which commeth out of the mouth defyleth the man.
15:12Then came his disciples and sayde vnto him. Perceavest thou not how that the pharises are offended in hearinge thys sayinge?
15:13He answered and sayde: all plantes which my hevely father hath not planted shalbe plucked vp by the rotes.
15:14Let them alone they be the blynde leaders of the blynde. If the blynde leede the blynde boothe shall fall into the dyche.
15:15Then answered Peter and sayd to him: declare vnto vs this parable.
15:16Then sayde Iesus: are ye yet with oute vnderstondinge?
15:17perceave ye not that what soever goeth in at the mouth descendeth doune in to the bely and is cast out into the draught?
15:18But those thingis which procede out of the mouth come from the herte and they defyle the man.
15:19For out of the herte come evyll thoughtis murder breakyng of wedlocke whordo theefte falce witnes berynge blasphemye.
15:20These are the thingis which defyle a man. But to eate with vnwesshen hondes defyleth not a man.
15:21And Iesus went thence and departed in to the costis of Tyre and Sidon.
15:22And beholde a woman which was a Cananite came out of ye same coostis and cryed vnto him sayinge: have mercy on me Lorde the sonne of David my doughter is pytiously vexed with a devyll.
15:23And he gave her never a worde to answer. Then came to him his disciples and besought him sayinge: sende her awaye for she foloweth vs cryinge.
15:24He answered and sayde: I am not sent but vnto ye loost shepe of ye housse of Israel.
15:25Then she came and worshipped him sayinge: master helpe me.
15:26He answered and sayde: it is not good to take the chyldrens breed and to cast it to whelpes.
15:27She answered and sayde: truthe Lorde: neverthelesse the whelpes eate of the cromes which fall from their masters table.
15:28Then Iesus answered and sayde vnto her. O woman greate is thy faith be it to the even as thou desyrest. And her doughter was made whole even at that same houre.
15:29Then Iesus went awaye from thence and came nye vnto the see of Galile and went vp in to a mountayne and sat doune there.
15:30And moche people came vnto him havinge with the halt blynde domme maymed and other many: and cast them doune at Iesus fete. And he healed them
15:31in so moche that the people wondred to se the dome speake the maymed whole the halt to go and ye blynde to se. And they glorified the God of Israel.
15:32Then Iesus called his disciples to him and sayde: I have compassion on ye people becau se they have cotynued with me now .iii. dayes and have nought to eate: and I wyll not let them departe fastinge leste they perisshe in ye waye.
15:33And his disciples sayd vnto him: whece shuld we get so moche breed in ye wildernes as shuld suffise so greate a multitude?
15:34And Iesus sayde vnto them: how many loves have ye? And they sayde: seven and a feawe litle fysshes.
15:35And he comaunded ye people to syt doune on ye grounde:
15:36and toke the seven loves and the fysshes and gave thankes and brake them and gave to his disciples and the disciples gave them to the people.
15:37And they dyd all eate and were suffised. And they toke vp of the broke meate that was lefte .vii. basketes full.
15:38And yet they that ate were .iiii.M. men besyde wemen and chyldren.
15:39And he sent awaye the people and toke shippe and came into the parties of Magdala.

15:1Then came vnto him the scribes and pharises from Ierusalem, sayenge:
15:2Why do thy disciples transgresse ye tradicions of the elders? for they wash not their hodes whan they eate bred.
15:3He answered & sayde vnto the: Why do ye transgresse the comaundemet of God, because of youre owne tradicios?
15:4For God comaunded, sayege: Honoure father & mother: & he yt curseth father & mother, shal dye the death.
15:5But ye saye: Euery man shal saye to father or mother: The thige yt I shulde helpe ye withal, is geue vnto God.
15:6By this is it come to passe, that no man honoureth his father or his mother eny more. And thus haue ye made the comaundement of God of none effecte, for youre owne tradicios.
15:7Ye ypocrites, full well hath Esaye prophecied of you, & sayde:
15:8This people draweth nye vnto me wt their mouth, & honoureth me wt their lippes, howbeit, their hert is farre fro me.
15:9But in vayne do they serue me, whyle they teach soch doctrynes as are nothinge but the commaundementes of men.
15:10And he called ye people to hi, & saide vnto the: Heare & vnderstode:
15:11That which goeth in to the mouth, defyleth not the ma: but yt which cometh out of the mouth, defyleth ye ma.
15:12Then came his disciples, & sayde vnto him: knowest thou yt the Pharises were offended, whan they herde this sayenge?
15:13He answered, and sayde: All plantes which my heauenly father hath not planted, shal be pluckte vp by ye rotes.
15:14Let the go, they are ye blynde leaders of ye blynde. Wha one blinde leadeth another, they fall both i ye diche.
15:15Then answered Peter & sayde vnto him: Declare vnto us this parable.
15:16And Iesus sayde vnto the: Are ye yet the without vnderstondinge?
15:17Perceaue ye not, yt what soeuer goeth in at ye mouth, descedeth downe in to ye bely, & is cast out into the draught?
15:18But the thinge that proceadeth out of the mouth, cometh fro ye hert, & that defyleth ye ma.
15:19For out of ye hert come euell thoughtes murthur, breakynge of wedlocke, whordome theft, false witnesse, blasphemy.
15:20These are ye thinges that defyle a man. But to eate wt vnwasshen hondes, defyleth not a man.
15:21And Iesus wente out from thence, & departed in to the coastes of Tyre of Sidon.
15:22And beholde, a woma of Canaan wete out of ye same coastes, & cried after him, sayege: O LORDE, thou sonne of Dauid, haue mercy vpon me. My doughter is sore vexed wt a deuell.
15:23And he answered her neuer a worde. The came his disciples vnto him, & besought him, sayege: Sede her awaye, for she crieth after us.
15:24But he answered, & saide: I am not sent, but vnto the lost shepe of the house of Israel.
15:25Notwithstondinge she came & fell downe before him, & sayde: LORDE, helpe me.
15:26He answered & sayde: It is not good, to take the childrens bred, & to cast it vnto dogges.
15:27It is trueth LORDE (sayde she) Neuertheles the whelpes eate of the crommes, that fall fro their lordes table.
15:28Then answered Iesus & sayde vnto her: O woma, greate is yi faith be it vnto the, eue as thou desyrest. And hir doughter was made hole at ye same houre.
15:29And Iesus departed thece, and came nye vnto the see of Galile, and wente vp in to a mountayne, and sat downe there,
15:30And there came vnto him moch people, hauinge with them, lame, blynde, dome, crepell, and other many, and cast them downe at Iesus fete. And he healed the,
15:31in so moch that the people wodred, to se the dome speake, the crepell whole, the halt to go, & the blynde to se. And they praysed the God of Israel.
15:32And Iesus called his disciples vnto him, & sayde: I haue copassion vpon the people, for they haue cotynued wt me now thre dayes, & haue nothinge to eate, & I wil not let the departe fastynge, lest they perishe in ye waye.
15:33And his disciples sayde vnto him: Whence shulde we get so moch bred in the wyldernes, that we might satissfie so moch people?
15:34And Iesus sayde vnto the: How many loaues haue ye? They sayde: seue, & a few litle fyshes.
15:35And he comaunded ye people to syt downe vpo the grounde,
15:36and toke ye seue loaues, & the fyshes, & gaue thankes & brake the, & gaue the to his disciples, & ye disciples gaue the vnto the people.
15:37And they all ate, & were suffised. And they toke vp of the broke meate yt was left, seuen basskettes full.
15:38And they yt ate, were foure thousande me, besyde wemen and children.
15:39And whan he had sent awaye the people, he wente in to a shippe, & came in to the parties of Magdala.
