17:1	And after .vi. dayes Iesus toke Peter and Iames and Ihon his brother, and broughte them vp into an hygh mountayne oute of the waye,
17:2	and was transfigured before them, and his face did shyne as the sunne and hys clothes were as whyte as the light:
17:3	& behold there appeared vnto theim Moyses & Helyas, talkyng with hym.
17:4	Then aunswered Peter and sayd to Iesus: master here is good beyng for vs. If thou wilt, let vs make here thre tabernacles, one for the, & one for Moses, and one for Helyas.
17:5	Whyle he yet speake, beholde a bryght cloude shadowed theim. And beholde there came a voyce out of the cloude, sayinge: this is my deare sonne, in whome I delite heare hym.
17:6	And when the disciples hearde that, they fell on theyr faces and were soore afrayed.
17:7	And Iesus came and touched them, and saide: arise and be not afrayed.
17:8	And when they loked vp, they sawe no man saue Iesus onely.
17:9	And as they came doune from the mountayne, Iesus charged them sayinge: se that ye shewe the vision to noman, vntyll the sonne of man be rysen agayne from death.
17:10	And hys disciples axed of hym saying: Why then say the Scribes, that Helyas must first come?
17:11	Iesus aunswered and sayde vnto them Helias shall first come and restore all thynges.
17:12	And I say vnto you that Helyas is come already, and they knewe hym not: but haue done vnto hym whatsoeuer they lusted. In lykewise shal also the sonne of man suffer of them.
17:13	Then the disciples perceiued that he spake vnto them of Ihon Baptist.
17:14	And when they were come to the people, there came to hym a certayne man, and kneled doune to hym, and sayde:
17:15	Master haue mercy on my sonne for he is francticke, and is sore vexed. For ofte tymes he falleth into the fire: and ofte into the water.
17:16	And I broughte hym to thy disciples, and thei could not heale him.
17:17	Iesus aunswered and sayde: O generation faythles and croked: howe longe shall I be wt you? how longe shal I suffre you? bryng him hydder to me.
17:18	And Iesus rebuked the deuel, & he came out of hym. And the chylde was healed euen that same houre.
17:19	Then came the disciples to Iesus secretly and sayd: Why coulde not we cast hym out?
17:20	Iesus sayd vnto them: Because of your vnbelefe. For I saye verely vnto you: if ye hadde faith as a grayn of a mustard seede, ye should say vnto thys mountayne, remoue hence too yonder place, and it shoulde remoue, neyther shoulde any thyng be impossible for you too do.
17:21	Howe be it this kynde goeth not out, but by prayer and fastynge.
17:22	As they passed the tyme in Galile, Iesus sayde vnto them: the sonne of man shalbe betrayed into the handes of men,
17:23	and they shall kyll hym, and the thyrde daye he shall ryse agayne. And they sorowed greatly.
17:24	And when they were come to Capernaum they that were wont to gadre poll money, came to Peter and sayde: Doeth your master paye tribute?
17:25	He sayd: yea. And when he was come into the house. Iesus spake fyrst to him, sayinge: What thinkest thou Simon? of whom do the kynges of the earth take tribute or pol money? of their chyldren, or of straungers?
17:26	Peter sayde vnto hym: of straungers. Then sayde Iesus vnto hym agayne: Then are the chyldren fre.
17:27	Neuerthelesse, lest we should offende them: go to the sea and caste in thyne angel, and take the fish that first cometh vp: & when thou hast opened hys mouth, thou shalt fynde a pece of twenty pence: that take and paye for me and the.

17:7	And Iesus came & touched them, & sayd: aryse, & be not a frayd.
17:8	And when they had lyft vp theyr eyes they sawe no man saue Iesus onely.
17:9	And whan they came downe from the mountayne, Iesus charged them saying: shew the vysion to no man, vntyll the sonne of man be rysen agayne from the deed.
17:10	And his disciples asked him, saying. Why then saye the Scribes, that Helias muste fyrst come?
17:11	Iesus answered, and sayde vnto them Helias trulye shall fyrst come, and restore all thynges.
17:12	But I saye vnto you, that Helias is come already, & they knewe him not: but haue done vnto hym whatsoeuer they lusted. In lykewyse shal also the sonne of man suffre of them.
17:13	Then the disciples vnderstode, that he spake vnto them of Iohn Baptist.
17:14	And when they were come to the people, ther came to him a certayne man knelyng downe to him, & sayeng:
17:15	Master, haue mercy on my sonne, for he is lunatike & sore vexed, for oft tymes he falleth into the fyre, & oft into the water,
17:16	And I brought him to thy disciples, & they coulde not heale him.
17:17	Iesus answered & sayd: O faythles & croked nacion: how longe shall I be with you? how longe shall I suffre you? bring hym hyther.
17:18	And Iesus rebuked the deuyll, & he departed out of him. And the chylde was healed euen that same tyme.
17:19	Then came the disciples to Iesus secretly & sayde: Why could not we cast hym out?
17:20	Iesus sayd vnto them: Because of youre vnbelefe. For verely I saye vnto you: yf ye haue fayth as a grayne of musterd seed, ye shall saye vnto this mountayne: remoue hence to yonder place, and it shall remoue: nether shal eny thinge be vnpossible vnto you.
17:21	Howbeit thys kynde goeth not out, but by prayer and fastinge.
17:22	While they were occupyed in Galile Iesus sayde vnto them: it wyll come to passe that the sonne of man shalbe betrayed into the handes of men,

17:24	And when they were come to the cytie of Capernaum, they that vse to receaue tribute money, cam to Peter, & sayd: Doth your master paye trybute?
17:25	He sayeth: yee. And when he was come into the house, Iesus preuented hym saying. What thinkest thou Simon? of whom do the kynges of the erth take trybute or toll, Of theyr chyldren, or of straungers?
17:26	Peter sayeth vnto hym: of straungers: Iesus sayeth vnto him: Then are the chyldren fre:

17:1	And after sixe dayes, Iesus tooke Peter, and Iames and Iohn his brother, and brought them vp into an hie mountaine apart,
17:2	And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the Sunne, and his clothes were as white as the light.
17:3	And beholde, there appeared vnto them Moses, and Elias, talking with him.
17:4	Then answered Peter, and saide to Iesus, Master, it is good for vs to be here: if thou wilt, let vs make here three tabernacles, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
17:5	While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloude shadowed them: and beholde, there came a voyce out of the cloude, saying, This is that my beloued Sonne, in whom I am well pleased: heare him.
17:6	And when the disciples heard that, they fell on their faces, and were sore afraide.
17:7	Then Iesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraide.
17:8	And when they lifted vp their eyes, they sawe no man, saue Iesus onely.
17:9	And as they came downe from the moutaine, Iesus charged them, saying, Shewe the vision to no man, vntil the Sonne of man rise againe from the dead.
17:10	And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the Scribes that Elias must first come?
17:11	And Iesus answered, and saide vnto them, Certeinely Elias must first come, and restore all thinges.
17:12	But I say vnto you that Elias is come alreadie, and they knewe him not, but haue done vnto him whatsoeuer they would: likewise shall also the Sonne of man suffer of them.
17:13	Then the disciples perceiued that he spake vnto them of Iohn Baptist.
17:14	And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certaine man, and fell downe at his feete,
17:15	And saide, Master, haue pitie on my sonne: for he is lunatike, and is sore vexed: for oft times he falleth into the fire, and oft times into the water.
17:16	And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not heale him.
17:17	Then Iesus answered, and said, O generation faithlesse, and crooked, how long now shall I be with you! howe long nowe shall I suffer you! bring him hither to me.
17:18	And Iesus rebuked the deuill, and he went out of him: and the childe was healed at that houre.
17:19	Then came the disciples to Iesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
17:20	And Iesus said vnto them, Because of your vnbeliefe: for verely I say vnto you, if ye haue faith as much as is a graine of mustarde seede, ye shall say vnto this mountaine, Remooue hence to yonder place, and it shall remoue: and nothing shalbe vnpossible vnto you.
17:21	Howbeit this kinde goeth not out, but by prayer and fasting.
17:22	And they being in Galile, Iesus said vnto them, The Sonne of man shall be deliuered into the handes of men,
17:23	And they shall kill him, but the thirde day shall he rise againe: and they were very sorie.
17:24	And when they were come to Capernaum, they that receiued polle money, came to Peter, and sayd, Doeth not your Master pay polle money?
17:25	He sayd, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Iesus preuented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? Of whome doe the Kings of the earth take tribute, or polle money? of their children, or of strangers?
17:26	Peter sayd vnto him, Of strangers. Then said Iesus vnto him, Then are the children free.
17:27	Neuerthelesse, lest we should offend them: goe to the sea, and cast in an angle, and take the first fish that commeth vp, and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt finde a piece of twentie pence: that take, and giue it vnto them for me and thee.
