Matthew - Chapter: 19

>
19:1And it came to passe, that when Iesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coastes of Iudea, beyond Iordane:
19:2And great multitudes followed him, and he healed them there.
19:3The Pharisees also came vnto him, tempting him, and saying vnto him, Is it lawfull for a man to put away his wife for euery cause?
19:4And hee answered, and said vnto them, Haue ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning, made them male and female?
19:5And said, For this cause shall a man leaue father and mother, and shall cleaue to his wife: and they twaine shalbe one flesh.
19:6Wherefore they are no more twaine, but one flesh. What therefore God hath ioyned together, let not man put asunder.
19:7They say vnto him, Why did Moses then command to giue a writing of diuorcement, and to put her away?
19:8Hee saith vnto them, Moses, because of the hardnesse of your hearts, suffered you to put away your wiues: but from the beginning it was not so.
19:9And I say vnto you, Whosoeuer shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away, doth commit adultery.
19:10His disciples say vnto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marrie.
19:11But hee said vnto them, All men cannot receiue this saying, saue they to whom it is giuen.
19:12For there are some Eunuches, which were so borne from their mothers wombe: and there are some Eunuches, which were made Eunuches of men: and there be Eunuches, which haue made themselues Eunuches for the kingdome of heauens sake. He that is able to receiue it, let him receiue it.
19:13Then were there brought vnto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
19:14But Iesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not to come vnto me: for of such is ye kingdome of heauen.
19:15And he laide his hands on them, and departed thence.
19:16And behold, one came and said vnto him, Good master, what good thing shall I do, that I may haue eternall life?
19:17And he said vnto him, Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandements.
19:18He saith vnto him, Which? Iesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steale, Thou shalt not beare false witnesse,
19:19Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt loue thy neighbour as thy selfe.
19:20The young man saith vnto him, All these things haue I kept from my youth vp: what lacke I yet?
19:21Iesus said vnto him, If thou wilt be perfect, goe and sell that thou hast, and giue to the poore, and thou shalt haue treasure in heauen: and come and follow me.
19:22But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowfull: for he had great possessions.
19:23Then said Iesus vnto his disciples, Uerely I say vnto you, that a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdome of heauen.
19:24And againe I say vnto you, It is easier for a camel to goe thorow the eye of a needle, then for a rich man to enter into the kingdome of God.
19:25When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saued?
19:26But Iesus beheld them, and said vnto them, With men this is vnpossible, but with God al things are possible.
19:27Then answered Peter, and said vnto him, Behold, we haue forsaken all, and followed thee, what shall we haue therefore?
19:28And Iesus said vnto them, Uerily I say vnto you, that ye which haue followed me, in the regeneration when the Sonne of man shal sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shal sit vpon twelue thrones, iudging the twelue tribes of Israel.
19:29And euery one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my Names sake, shall receiue an hundred fold, and shall inherite euerlasting life.
19:30But many that are first, shall be last, and the last shall be first.

19:1And it came to passe, that when Iesus had finished these sayinges, he gat hym from Galilee, and came into the coastes of Iurie, beyonde Iordane:
19:2And great multitudes folowed hym: and he healed them there.
19:3The pharisees also came vnto hym, temptyng hym, and saying vnto hym: Is it lawfull for a man to put away his wyfe, for euery cause?
19:4He aunswered and sayde vnto them: Haue ye not read, that he which created at the begynnyng, made them male and female,
19:5And sayde: For this cause, shall a man leaue father and mother, and shall be knit to his wyfe: and they twayne shall be one fleshe.
19:6Wherfore, they are no more twayne, but one fleshe. Let not man therefore put a sunder, that which God hath coupled together.
19:7They say vnto hym: why did Moyses then commaunde to geue a writyng of diuorcement, and to put her away?
19:8He sayde vnto them: Moyses, because of the hardnes of your heartes, suffred you to put away your wyues: But from the begynnyng it was not so.
19:9I say vnto you: whosoeuer putteth away his wyfe, except it be for fornication, and maryeth another, committeth adulterie: And who so maryeth her which is diuorced, doth comit adulterie.
19:10His disciples say vnto hym: If the matter be so betwene man and wyfe, [then] is it not good to mary.
19:11He sayde vnto them: all men can not receaue this saying, saue they to whom it is geuen.
19:12For there are some chaste, which are so borne, out of their mothers wombe: And there are some chaste, which be made chaste of me: And there be chaste, which haue made themselues chaste, for the kyngdome of heauens sake. He that is able to receaue [it], let him receaue [it].
19:13Then were there brought vnto hym young chyldren, that he shoulde put his handes on them, and pray: And the disciples rebuked them.
19:14But Iesus sayde vnto them: suffer the young chyldren, and forbyd them not to come vnto me: for of such, is the kyngdome of heauen.
19:15And when he had put his handes on them, he departed thence.
19:16And beholde, one came, and sayde vnto hym: good maister, what good thyng shall I do, that I may haue eternall lyfe?
19:17He sayde vnto hym: why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, [and that is] God. But yf thou wylt enter into lyfe, kepe the commaundementes.
19:18He sayth vnto hym: Which? Iesus sayde: Thou shalt do no murther, Thou shalt not commit adulterie, Thou shalt not steale, Thou shalt not beare false witnesse,
19:19Honour father and mother: and thou shalt loue thy neighbour as thy selfe.
19:20The young man sayth vnto hym: All these [thynges] haue I kept, from my youth vp: what lacke I yet?
19:21Iesus sayde vnto hym: yf thou wylt be perfect, go & sell that thou hast, and geue to the poore, & thou shalt haue treasure in heauen: and come & folowe me.
19:22But when the young man hearde that saying, he went away sory: For he had great possessions.
19:23Then Iesus sayde vnto his disciples: Ueryly I say vnto you, that a riche [man] shall hardly enter into the kyngdome of heauen.
19:24And agayne I say vnto you: it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a nedle, then for the riche, to enter into the kyngdome of God.
19:25When the disciples hearde this, they were exceadyngly amazed, saying: who then can be saued?
19:26But Iesus behelde them, and sayde vnto them: with men this is vnpossible, but with God all thynges are possible.
19:27Then aunswered Peter, and sayde vnto hym: Beholde, we haue forsaken all, and folowed thee, what shall we haue therfore?
19:28Iesus sayde vnto them: veryly I say vnto you, that when the sonne of man shall syt in the throne of his maiestie, ye that haue folowed me in the regeneration, shall syt also vpon twelue seates, and iudge the twelue tribes of Israel.
19:29And euery one that forsaketh house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wyfe, or chyldren, or landes, for my names sake, shall receaue an hundred folde, and shall inherite euerlastyng lyfe.
19:30But many that are first, shalbe last, and the last, shalbe first.

19:1And it came to passe, that when Iesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galile, and came into ye coasts of Iudea beyond Iordan.
19:2And great multitudes followed him, and he healed them there.
19:3Then came vnto him the Pharises tempting him, and saying to him, Is it lawfull for a man to put away his wife vpon euery occasion?
19:4And he answered and sayd vnto them, Haue ye not read, that hee which made them at the beginning, made them male and female,
19:5And sayd, For this cause, shall a man leaue father and mother, and cleaue vnto his wife, and they which were two shalbe one flesh.
19:6Wherefore they are no more twaine, but one flesh. Let not man therefore put asunder that, which God hath coupled together.
19:7They said to him, Why did then Moses commaund to giue a bill of diuorcement, and to put her away?
19:8He sayd vnto them, Moses, because of the hardnesse of your heart, suffered you to put away your wiues: but from the beginning it was not so.
19:9I say therefore vnto you, that whosoeuer shall put away his wife, except it be for whoredome, and marry another, committeth adulterie: and whosoeuer marieth her which is diuorced, doeth commit adulterie.
19:10Then sayd his disciples to him, If the matter be so betweene man and wife, it is not good to marry.
19:11But he sayd vnto them, All men cannot receiue this thing, saue they to whom it is giuen.
19:12For there are some eunuches, which were so borne of their mothers belly: and there be some eunuches, which be gelded by men: and there be some eunuches, which haue gelded them selues for the kingdome of heauen. He that is able to receiue this, let him receiue it.
19:13Then were brought to him litle children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
19:14But Iesus sayd, Suffer the litle children, and forbid them not to come to me: for of such is the kingdome of heauen.
19:15And when he had put his hands on them, he departed thence.

19:17And he said vnto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, eue God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keepe ye commandemets.
19:18He sayd to him, Which? And Iesus sayde, These, Thou shalt not kill: Thou shalt not commit adulterie: Thou shalt not steale: Thou shalt not beare false witnesse.
19:19Honour thy father and mother: and thou shalt loue thy neighbour as thy selfe.
19:20The yong man sayd vnto him, I haue obserued all these things from my youth: what lacke I yet?
19:21Iesus sayd vnto him, If thou wilt be perfite, go, sell that thou hast, and giue it to the poore, and thou shalt haue treasure in heauen, and come, and follow me.
19:22And when the yong man heard that saying, he went away sorowfull: for he had great possessions.
19:23Then Iesus sayd vnto his disciples, Verely I say vnto you, that a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdome of heauen.
19:24And againe I say vnto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, then for a rich man to enter into ye kingdome of God.
19:25And whe his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amased, saying, Who then can be saued?
19:26And Iesus behelde them, and sayde vnto them, With men this is vnpossible, but with God all things are possible.
