Matthew - Chapter: 19

>
19:1And it came to passe, that when Iesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coastes of Iudea, beyond Iordane:
19:2And great multitudes followed him, and he healed them there.
19:3The Pharisees also came vnto him, tempting him, and saying vnto him, Is it lawfull for a man to put away his wife for euery cause?
19:4And hee answered, and said vnto them, Haue ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning, made them male and female?
19:5And said, For this cause shall a man leaue father and mother, and shall cleaue to his wife: and they twaine shalbe one flesh.
19:6Wherefore they are no more twaine, but one flesh. What therefore God hath ioyned together, let not man put asunder.
19:7They say vnto him, Why did Moses then command to giue a writing of diuorcement, and to put her away?
19:8Hee saith vnto them, Moses, because of the hardnesse of your hearts, suffered you to put away your wiues: but from the beginning it was not so.
19:9And I say vnto you, Whosoeuer shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away, doth commit adultery.
19:10His disciples say vnto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marrie.
19:11But hee said vnto them, All men cannot receiue this saying, saue they to whom it is giuen.
19:12For there are some Eunuches, which were so borne from their mothers wombe: and there are some Eunuches, which were made Eunuches of men: and there be Eunuches, which haue made themselues Eunuches for the kingdome of heauens sake. He that is able to receiue it, let him receiue it.
19:13Then were there brought vnto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
19:14But Iesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not to come vnto me: for of such is ye kingdome of heauen.
19:15And he laide his hands on them, and departed thence.
19:16And behold, one came and said vnto him, Good master, what good thing shall I do, that I may haue eternall life?
19:17And he said vnto him, Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandements.
19:18He saith vnto him, Which? Iesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steale, Thou shalt not beare false witnesse,
19:19Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt loue thy neighbour as thy selfe.
19:20The young man saith vnto him, All these things haue I kept from my youth vp: what lacke I yet?
19:21Iesus said vnto him, If thou wilt be perfect, goe and sell that thou hast, and giue to the poore, and thou shalt haue treasure in heauen: and come and follow me.
19:22But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowfull: for he had great possessions.
19:23Then said Iesus vnto his disciples, Uerely I say vnto you, that a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdome of heauen.
19:24And againe I say vnto you, It is easier for a camel to goe thorow the eye of a needle, then for a rich man to enter into the kingdome of God.
19:25When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saued?
19:26But Iesus beheld them, and said vnto them, With men this is vnpossible, but with God al things are possible.
19:27Then answered Peter, and said vnto him, Behold, we haue forsaken all, and followed thee, what shall we haue therefore?
19:28And Iesus said vnto them, Uerily I say vnto you, that ye which haue followed me, in the regeneration when the Sonne of man shal sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shal sit vpon twelue thrones, iudging the twelue tribes of Israel.
19:29And euery one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my Names sake, shall receiue an hundred fold, and shall inherite euerlasting life.
19:30But many that are first, shall be last, and the last shall be first.

19:1And it came to passe, wha Iesus had ended these sayenges, he gat him fro Galile, & came i to ye coastes of Iewry beyonde Iordane,
19:2& moch people folowed him, and he healed them there.
19:3Then came vnto him the Pharises & tepted him, & sayde vnto him: Is it laufull for a man to put awaye his wife for eny maner of cause?
19:4He answered & sayde vnto the: Haue ye not red, how yt he which made (man) at the begynnynge, made the ma & woma,
19:5& sayde: For this cause shal a ma leaue father & mother, & cleue vnto his wife, & they two shalbe one fleshe.
19:6Now are they not twayne then, but one flesh. Let not man therfore put a sunder, yt which God hath coupled together.
19:7Then sayde they: Why dyd Moses then comaunde to geue a testimonyall of deuorsement, & to put her awaye?
19:8He sayde vnto the: Moses (because of ye hardnes of yor hertes) suffred you to put awaye youre wyues: Neuertheles fro the begynnynge it hath not bene so.
19:9But I saye vnto you: Whosoeuer putteth awaye his wife (excepte it be for fornicacion) and marieth another, breaketh wedlocke. And who so marieth her yt is deuorced, commytteth aduoutrye.
19:10Then sayde his disciples vnto him: Yf ye matter be so betwene ma and wife, the is it not good to mary.
19:11But he sayde vnto them: All me can not coprehende yt sayenge, saue they to who it is geue.
19:12For there be some gelded, which are so borne from their mothers wombe: and there be some gelded, which are gelded of men: & there be some gelded, which haue gelded the selues for the kyngdome of heauens sake. He that can coprehende it, let him comprehe
19:13Then were brought vnto him yoge children, yt he shulde put his hondes vpon the, & praye. And ye disciples rebuked them.
19:14But Iesus sayde: Suffre ye childre, & forbyd the not to come vnto me, for vnto soch belogeth the kyngdome of heauen.
19:15And wha he had layed his hodes vpo the, he departed thece.
19:16And beholde, one came vnto him, and sayde: Good master, what good shal I do, yt I maye haue the euer lastinge life?
19:17He sayde vnto him: Why callest thou me good? there is none good, but God onely. Neuertheles yf thou wilt entre into life, kepe ye comaudemetes.
19:18The sayde, he vnto him: Which? Iesus saide: Thou shalt not kyll: thou shalt not breake wedlocke: thou shalt not steale: thou shalt beare no false wytnes:
19:19Honoure father and mother: and thou shalt loue thy neghboure as thy self.
19:20Then sayde the yonge ma vnto him: All these haue I kepte fro my youth vp: what lack I yet?
19:21Iesus sayde vnto him: Yf thou wilt be perfecte, go thy waye and sell that thou hast, & geue it vnto the poore, and thou shalt haue a treasure in heauen, and come and folowe me.
19:22Whan ye yonge man herde yt worde, he wente awaye sory, for he had greate possessions.
19:23Iesus sayde vnto his disciples: Verely I saie vnto you: it shalbe harde for a rich man to entre in to the kyngdome of heaue.
19:24And morouer I saye vnto you: It is easier for a Camell to go thorow the eye of a nedle, the for a rich man to entre in to the kyngdome of heauen.
19:25Whan his disciples herde that, they were exceadingly amased, and sayde: Who can the be saued?
19:26Neuertheles Iesus behelde them, and sayde vnto them: With men it is vnpossyble, but with God all thinges are possyble.
19:27Then answered Peter & sayde vnto him: Beholde, we haue forsake all, and folowed the: What shal we haue therfore?
19:28Iesus sayde vnto the: Verely I saye vnto you: that when the sonne of man shal sytt in the seate of his maiestye, ye which haue folowed me in the new byrth, shal syt also vpon twolue seates, and iudge ye twolue trybes of Israel.
19:29And who so euer forsaketh houses or brethre, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or londes, for my names sake, the same shal receaue an hundreth folde, and inheret euerlastinge life.
19:30But many that be the first, shalbe the last: and the last shalbe the first.

19:1And it was don, whanne Jhesus hadde endid these wordis, he passide fro Galilee, and cam in to the coostis of Judee ouer Jordan.
19:2And myche puple suede him, and he heelide hem there.
19:3And Farisees camen to him, temptynge him, and seiden, Whether it be leueful to a man to leeue his wijf, for ony cause?
19:4Which answeride, and seide to hem, Han ye not red, for he that made men at the bigynnyng, made hem male and female?
19:5And he seide, For this thing a man schal leeue fadir and modir, and he schal draw to his wijf; and thei schulen be tweyne in o fleisch.
19:6And so thei ben not now tweyne, but o fleisch. Therfor a man departe not that thing that God hath ioyned.
19:7Thei seien to hym, What thanne comaundide Moises, to yyue a libel of forsakyng, and to leeue of?
19:8And he seide to hem, For Moises, for the hardnesse of youre herte, suffride you leeue youre wyues; but fro the bigynnyng it was not so.
19:9And Y seie to you, that who euer leeueth his wijf, but for fornycacioun, and weddith another, doith letcherie; and he that weddith the forsakun wijf, doith letcherie.
19:10His disciplis seien to him, If the cause of a man with a wijf is so, it spedith not to be weddid.
19:11And he seide to hem, Not alle men taken this word; but to whiche it is youun.
19:12For ther ben geldingis, whiche ben thus born of the modris wombe; and ther ben geldyngis, that ben maad of men; and there ben geldyngis, that han geldid hem silf, for the kyngdom of heuenes. He that may take, `take he.
19:13Thanne litle children weren brouyte to hym, that he schulde putte hondis to hem, and preie.
19:14And the disciplis blamyden hem. But Jhesus seide to hem, Suffre ye that litle children come to me, and nyle ye forbede hem; for of siche is the kyngdom of heuenes.
19:15And whanne he hadde put to hem hondis, he wente fro thennus.
19:16And lo! oon cam, and seide to hym, Good maister, what good schal Y do, that Y haue euerlastynge lijf?
19:17Which seith to hym, What axist thou me of good thing? There is o good God. But if thou wolt entre to lijf, kepe the comaundementis.
19:18He seith to hym, Whiche? And Jhesus seide, Thou schalt not do mansleying, thou schalt not do auowtrie, thou schalt not do thefte, thou schalt not seie fals witnessying;
19:19worschipe thi fadir and thi modir, and, thou schalt loue thi neiybore as thi silf.
19:20The yonge man seith to hym, Y haue kept alle these thingis fro my youthe, what yit failith to me?
19:21Jhesus seith to hym, If thou wolt be perfite, go, and sille alle thingis that thou hast, and yyue to pore men, and thou schalt haue tresoure in heuene; and come, and sue me.
19:22And whanne the yong man hadde herd these wordis, he wente awei sorewful, for he hadde many possessiouns.
19:23And Jhesus seide to hise disciplis, Y seie to you treuthe, for a riche man of hard schal entre in to the kyngdom of heuenes.
19:24And eftsoone Y seie to you, it is liyter a camel to passe thorou a needlis iye, thanne a riche man to entre in to the kyngdom of heuens.
19:25Whanne these thingis weren herd, the disciplis wondriden greetli, and seiden, Who thanne may be saaf?
19:26Jhesus bihelde, and seide to hem, Anentis men this thing is impossible; but anentis God alle thingis ben possible.
19:27Thanne Petre answeride, and seide to hym, Lo! we han forsake alle thingis, and we han suede thee; what thanne schal be to vs?
19:28Jhesus seide to hem, Truli I seie to you, that ye that han forsake alle thingis, and han sued me, in the regeneracioun whanne mannus sone schal sitte in the sete of his maieste, ye schulen sitte on twelue setis, demynge the twelue kynredis of Israel.
19:29And euery man that forsakith hous, britheren or sistren, fadir or modir, wijf ethir children, or feeldis, for my name, he schal take an hundrid foold, and schal welde euerlastynge lijf.
19:30But manye schulen be, the firste the laste, and the laste the firste.
